lk2fireone (194) Without plot, there is no meaning to the story. How can you have two or more people having sexual intercourse without the deepest, most meaningful interaction of two souls uniting?

Perhaps, with solo masturbation, there might be less necessity for a long prelude before the action. Everyone knows that if you don't have to wait for your partner's climax, that you can cum whenever the mood or finger of fate strikes.

This is probably one of the stranger poll questions I have yet seen. I sincerely hope my comment does honor to this issue.

elonlybuster (39) The setting sets the mood, but often I can easily overlook it without a problem.

Jay G (65) Sometimes is my answer, depends on my mood. A great introduction can be fun or interesting or very sexy, but porn doesn't have lots of good acting unfortunately, so clumsy leadups don't work well.

Seeing girls in sexy outfits before the nudity can also be great if the girl doesn't try to strut like a fashion model. A girl-next-door undressing and being provocative before sex wouldn't hurt.

The old pizza-man thing, though? no thanks.

TheSquirrel (53) It really does depend, that's why I voted for "other" changed from "not important at all." I'm with JayG on the pizza delivery thing. I'd rather have a scene setting along the lines of - here's the girl she's getting paid some money to have sex, or other things, rather than some phony acting and pretending they're enjoying it. Lousy acting is a big turn off. The models are paid money to have sex. Might as well be honest about it, without being disrespectful.

messmer (137) Jay G is right, that pizza-man or plumber thing is a turn off because it's such a cliche. Not only that but between his arrival at the distressed damsel's house and getting ready for action usually takes only one to two minutes. Man, are those frustrated housewives ready! Ridiculous! To me the build up is very important but it has to be a real build up not just an excuse for a super quick strip and then ten to twenty minutes of interminable f*****g and s*****g!

badandy400 (103) I think the background is very important in a scene. Does there need to be a story, well not entirely. Stores are nice at times so long as they are short. I do not want half the video being them trying out there acting skills.

Background is very important though. The setting should be nice, uncluttered, and well lit. I do not want to see trash, torn sheets, an old couch, and for Gods sake no dog!

apoctom (145) Really could care less, as long as the sex is hot.

exotics4me (463) One of the hottest scenes that I ever saw had two female actresses preparing for the scene. The cameraman comes out and says, "You all, this needs to look very real and I want to see some passion." One of the women turns around and says, "I planned on it being passionate, she is very pretty." The cameraman gets an attitude with her that he is the director and it is job to tell them what he wants from the scene. An argument between the cameraman and the woman ensues.

Ok, cut, at this point, I honestly believed this was happening. The other girl didn't say much and just kind of looked down, the argument was intense, there was cussing and threats of, "You can leave, and I will never contract you again"

The woman that was outspoken finally tells the cameraman to shutup and film, she grabs the quiet girl and starts pulling her clothes off, she says to the cameraman, "Is that enough passion?"

This leads into one of the hottest scenes I've ever seen and I have no idea what the scene was. It was on a lesbian site, don't think it was Sapphic Erotica though. That was a great planned argument/plot. But most of the time, I could care less unless all plots were that good. As a fan of Euro porn more than American porn, I'm at a bigger disadvantage since the actresses speak very little or poor English.

Drooler (220) I choose "other," but frankly, I should add "but not usually." Usually I just go straight for the bonin' and groanin'. However, on occasion I've enjoyed the early-on stuff.

And there doesn't have to be much of a story. I'm thinking sites like "Ass Traffic" where the girl shows off her stuff and grins at the camera, takes if off and that ass just fills the screen. Anybody remember Alissa, the tall blond Ukrainian girl who used to show up at DDF and 21st Sextury sites?

I miss that girl. I think she got married.

pat362 (371) For me to truly enjoy a sex scene then there has to be a story to it. I'm tired of the jumping straight into the scene where everyone is naked, hairless, fully dilated, and usually can't tell the performer because the last time you saw her face was right before they zoomed to her genitals.

TalonIcefire (6) It depends on the production and my mood. Porn actresses/actors arenít very convincing and letís face it; we donít generally watch a porn movie for the acting. I like a little lead in time if it sets the mood otherwise I could care less. Additionally, as far as the acting goes, I could care less for faked or overtly fake scenes. Thereís nothing wrong with play acting so long as the scene appears sincere or realistic.

messmer (137) I don't understand wanting to get straight to the action. This is a non-belligerent statement. :-) I honestly don't understand. Isn't the teasing part, the gradual revealing of the model's body the most important thing in a set of pictures? You don't want her to start nude, do you? Or in the case of a video isn't the most important part the leading up to the action (if they take their time with the undressing) since once you're down to showing (mostly) body parts engaged in frenzied and overly long coupling nothing makes that scene different from any another.

TheRizzo (23) I usually like a story or theme to be there to enjoy it more. I can go without if the girl is so hot etc.

PinkPanther (46) You know, the set-up could flat-out stink, I suppose, and the setting could be some flea-trap that is just too utterly distracting, but other than that, I'm not too worried about it. The fact is that most porn that aims to be "like Hollywood pictures" fails miserably, in my opinion. I prefer the stuff that is more light-hearted and suggests a story then delivers hot sex. If I want serious content, there's a lot of serious content available. If I'm looking at porn, I'm looking at porn because I want to see hot sex.

One thing I hate about Vivid is that they hire so many people that don't seem to like porn. They want to do other things and they suck so they can't do other things and so they do porn - and they do shitty lame-ass porn with pretensions to be other than porn.

One thing I like about the gonzo stuff - and especially the good gonzo stuff like Jules Jordan & company is that they want to do porn and they focus on making it hot.

careylowell (18) Someone has already noted that porn actors aren't convincing when mouthing lines... Yet plot remains very important to me, hence my pref for European made flicks. That geographic area has its share of Gonzo porn but remain very capable of generating a good plot when they set their minds to it.
I was floored by the # of replies stating plot held no interest.
I like the long-running Pierre Woodman Casting series: Dirty P often talks the nubile gals into exposing more than they had planned on revealing. Ditto for hordes of other sites where the performers slowly build up steam: busty.pl, partyhardcore.com, Ifeelmyself.com, et al.

WeeWillyWinky (88) Sex without context is just bumping uglies. Or, like a friend of mine used to say, two brillo pads fighting over a hot dog.
