otoh (54) I guess it depends what the definition of virtual sex is. I've done cybersex - via skype or just text chat - and with the right partner it can work very well. Not sure about other definitions of virtual sex... but it's always safer to never say never :)

jberryl69 (12) Like otoh, what does "virtual sex" mean?

Since I'm only getting autoerotic sex at the moment, whatever virtual sex means, it has to be equal or as satisfying as that.

According to Wikipedia, "Virtual sex is sexual activity where two or more people gather together via some form of communications equipment to arouse each other by transmitting sexually explicit messages. Virtual sex describes the phenomenon, no matter the communications equipment used."

If that is the definition of virtual sex, then I've tried it before (phone sex) and while I was pretty good at giving it, it never did a damn thing sexually for me. While I enjoyed the other person getting aroused by the sound of my voice and the words I choose to use, for me it was like when I would put someone into a hypnotic state (which I would do at school to help relieve people's headaches).

RustyJ (145) Depends a lot. I don't believe in clumsy devices that one connects with a computer but who knows what future will bring?

Cybertoad (104) Unfortunately the polls do not give room to explain the topics. For the purpose of the poll, I was asking about Virtual Sex I guess Jberry's says it best.
There were many sites at one time dedicated to this, why was not my taste wondered what others thought where it was headed.

Wittyguy (95) But why have the real thing when you can shack up with a sexbot; a perfect 10 looks-wise that will do anything and everything in bed and then clean the house, cook dinner and mow the yard without complaining a bit?

pat362 (367) Is probably the wave of the futur but not an near futur that's for sure. The technology is no even close to being good. The only virtual stuff that I've seen are different versions of the same pre-recorded scenes that are connected through some type of interface where you can choose where the actions goes next but your choices are guided by what was filmed so it's not really a choice as much as options.

jberryl69 (12) REPLY TO #6 - Wittyguy :

Yes sir but then that goes outside of the scope of virtual which would be the requirement to get my interest. Something like the replicant Rachael from the movie Blade Runner would do quite well thank you. Or maybe that slutty little Pris (the basic pleasure model) who would head lock you between her thighs, nom, nom .... dam, one can only fantasize.

lk2fireone (194) Is watching a live chat show considered virtual sex?
I am not really sure what the term includes or excludes.

gaypornolover (38) I had to say other as I am confused about what exactly is meant by virtual sex.

I doubt the real thing will ever be bettered, at least in my lifetime!

slutty (111) Not really for me, phone/skype sex with my significant other is fine, virtual sex would seem a bit too far over the line towards cheating.

Drooler (218) Put "virtual" in front of any word and it can only mean "not really." Virtual reality is not reality, and virtual sex is not sex. Whether it will be a virtual wave of the virtual future is something that is yet to be virtually seen.

marcdc1 (165) REPLY TO #13 - Drooler :

I think Drooler says it best. Between the vague definitions of what will be virtual sex the fact that nothing replaces the real thing, I wonder if we'll ever be there.

To my the relevant movie reference comes from a 90s Sly Stallone film (I think it was Demolition Man), in the movie he has virtual sex with a future woman, then they have non-virtual sex and of course there's no comparison.

Drooler (218) REPLY TO #15 - marcdc1 :

I guess it comes as no surprise that it's hard to define something that is not real.

Had a good chuckle over your comment about Demolition Man, or whatever it was called. (Wonder if there has been a porn parody of that. They could call it "Fornication Man.")
