slutty (111) I don't really mind it, it is what it is, and it seems to me like the women in censored vids are typically more attractive (although I am by no means a japanese porn aficianado).

elephant (67) I have to admit it puts me right off off watching them with the pixels, I rarely watch Japanese porn because of this.

lk2fireone (196) I really dislike it. Makes the videos far less appealing.

tangub (155) I'm probably undecided as I'm yet to join a site containing censored Japanese content.

slategrey (13) I dislike it a lot, oh how many great scenes have been ruined because of this.

otoh (54) I'd say frustrating. Some Japanese porn doesn't appeal to me at all - it seems to objectify the women (even?) more than much western porn.

But there is some material I like - and I do find the pixellation spoils it. I far prefer the slightly softer stuff that stops just short of showing the bits that need censoring - if it gets close enough, it's more exciting than just seeing the blur there.

nygiants03 (162) I don't watch much Japanese porn, but when I do it's Maria Ozawa. I don't like the censorship because it defeats the purpose of watching porn.

gaypornolover (38) Never watch it, there seems no point with the censorship. I don't understand it - if they think porn is inherently degrading just ban it outright - the censorship is just porn rendered pointless.

Cybertoad (Disabled) REPLY TO #6 - slategrey :

I would have to agree, I have actually given up trying to find descent scenes. Might as watch HBO or Showtime and see just about as much.

Marcus (47) Absolutely hate it. Even though obviously I don't have any interest in seeing the guy's junk, it's intrusive and annoying.

messmer (137) I have seen some samples where I absolutely hated the mosaic. This has stopped me from subscribing to Japanese sites.

PinkPanther (46) As a fan of Japanese porn, I find the censoring a mild irritation. Why is it a mild irritation? Because when I look at the new stuff being posted at good Asian porn sites, such as asiamoviepass and actionjav, there's a lot of good stuff being posted. When I look at the new stuff being posted at the best US DVD sites, videosz and videobox, it's not appealing AT ALL.

So hot stuff with censoring is a mild irritation as compared to the colossal drag of non-hot stuff being posted.

exotics4me (463) Lets show how weird I can be. I sometimes find myself liking the mosaic. I don't know why. Maybe it makes it more taboo than showing everything or feels like a tease, so I picked it's frustrating. And so are teasing women.

xexbot (36) That is much more of a cultural issue than a legal issue. Sort of the same way US Americans might be perceived as preferring violence over sex or love if you try to judge us by our most popular mediums. I can kill 50 people in a movie and still get a PG rating, but one quick peek at a cock or vagina is likely to prevent your movie from receiving a rating at all, and therefore no distribution. Definitely not our place to judge anyone else's practices.

elephant (67) REPLY TO #15 - xexbot :

Yeah this is a very good point and I've never understood why some of the sickest things imaginable in films like hostel 2 or the hannibal lector one with the brains can be accepted and go through censorships and allowed for people to watch but showing anything like a revealing sex scene, a natural human act is seen as the sick one and not allowed.

pat362 (373) I picked that I hate it but hate is a too strong a word so let's say that I really disalike it. It boggles the mind that Japanese shoot some really twisted stuff and yet pixelate penetration and genitals. These are the people who do tentacle porn and semi-pedophilic(hope that's a real word) animation porn.

My 2 cents (4) While mosaics can be a sure way to ruin a good video, I don't think it is always so bad, because it forces them to use a bit more imagination when shooting their videos. Whereas American porn can be very repetitive, the Japanese have come up with some weird and wonderful, (but often not so wonderful) stuff. Plus the do softcore very well.
