Are models getting less attractive? While browsing the updates in some of my favorite soft core / mid core sites I have noticed that many of the models are not as beautiful as in the old days (2007 - 2013?). Did I get too jaded? Is it the absence of Russian models? Is it all in my mind? | |

I think it's probably all in your mind. Or you could be putting too much emphasis on one or two days of browsing. I'm finding lots of very attractive new models, that are constantly appearing in porn. Both in softcore and in hardcore. And of course, there are loads of new models that have just entered the field in the last two years. That are attractive to just absolutely stunning. Check out the Metart site. There are sites that give large thumbnails of the Metart models. I'm not saying that every model is attractive. They do have some plain or average-looking girls. But most of the models are attractive to extremely attractive to really lovely. That's my opinion, anyway. | |

I've got used to seeing the lovely women that appear on DDF. Eve Angel, Zafira, and Blue Angel to name a few. I don't know if they are going to be doing as much work now they are getting older, but there are always others that find their way to sites like DDF. One that has caught my eye is Judy Smile. Like her, I think there will always be women of exception beauty that will be drawn to porn. Take a look at the past and you find gorgeous creatures like Annette Haven. She was extremely attractive and produced some of the finest scenes that porn will ever see. I didn't any woman could replace her. Well naturally no one possesses her fine qualities and presence, but each new decade brings fresh faces with their own loveliness and style to film and photo sets and have given something special to this industry. I have feeling that is going to continue. There will always be women who shine. I'm more worried about those who work behind the camera, who don't know how to present the talent walking through their doors, then the women themselves. Give theses new women a chance to get comfortable working in front of the camera and I think you will surprised at the scenes they make special for us and hope the producers and camera men have the talent to capture it. It probably *is* all in my mind. It was a stupid question anyway since beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It was nothing but a gut reaction from closely following three sites that had been my favorites in the past and I very rarely see a woman who appeals to me in the updates, which is a far cry from only a few years ago. The models (in my eyes) appear to have coarsened and I haven't seen anyone breathtaking in some time. But, as I said, what's beautiful to me is not necessarily beautiful to you and vice versa. So forget I even asked!  | |

Maybe it's not just you because I'm finding that each new year brings us a larger group of models that are just not as impressive as the ones that came before them but I'm not sure if it's because the ones that came before them were so much more than them that no one can equal them or if may be that the higher resolution cameras make every skin blemish impossible to miss and overlook. Of course it could be a mixture of both. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

I strongly disagree. I think 1994 pumped out some beautiful girls who really know how to get railed hard. The 1995 crew wasn't as good but still had some great ones like Marsha May. But the 1996 girls were pretty lacking, also had a few good ones but nowhere near as good as the 1994 teens. So I guess since the 1994 girls turned 18 in 2012 the girls have been lacking but since like 2005/2006 as a whole, the pornstars are much sexier than ever before. | |

Messmer...I'm not so active here, anymore...once in a while. But still hunting - and yes the same goes for easteuro models - less active, less attractive. And the good ol' ones seems to vanish must faster than ever - and the few newer ones does not live up to the former standards - sorry to say - but just my opinion. Boy, how I miss more material from just fascinating russian, hungarian ect. models - but it's a slim pick  So it's the old desk-archives. Simple. The money is so bad and the stuff they have to do in porn is so abusive that they don't do it, or if they do it, it isn't for long. It used to be said that the best looking girls did porn, and the next step down were escorts. Its the other way round now - you can go to any mid-range club in Europe and find prettier girls than in porn turning tricks at 50 euros a pop - the more expensive girls at the up market clubs will blow your mind. | |

I think this ovservation is colosely connected to the fact that girls usually don't last very long in the business anymore. It's happening very often: you see a nice girl in a scene, try to find more of her just to find out that she's already gone again. It's a quantity over quality situation. Ever since my last few favorites (April O'Neil and Lilly Labeau) more or less quit quit shooting hc, I struggled to find decent replacements to follow. The thrill of watching a girl getting hotter and better every new scene is almost gone. Other than that, I think the perception is mostly in you (and my) mind. | |

Careers are shorter, so if you are looking for "pornstars," there are fewer of those. The girls are just as hot as ever though. Also, more girls with tats now. That's cool with me, but if you don't like that, it could be a downside. Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off. | |

Judging by some of the responses maybe I wasn't being clear enough. If you are talking hardcore and porn stars then most likely nothing much has changed. Producers/sites will pick the best looking of the bunch for their videos. That shouldn't be too hard with a reduced number of videos being shot. I was thinking of softcore sites with five updates a day like ATK Natural & Hairy, or Aunt Judy's, or WeAreHairy, or AllOver30 to name four of my former favorite sites. In other words, sites that specialized in picture sets, plus some videos, that featured nudity with a bit of masturbation thrown in? Hardcore has become more noticeable in all of them and by coincidence the models (NOT porn stars) don't appear to be as beautiful and fresh as they used to be! Could it be possible that these sites, after their progression to harder material now find it more difficult to obtain beautiful models who are also willing to do hard stuff along with the soft? Just a thought. | |

That could be true. I prefer lesbian and solo scenes. The models I mentioned do a lot of those. The network sites I join have their hardcore boy/girl scenes and it seems mostly a guy pounding on the woman in a few different positions until climax. No seduction or sweetness about it. I acknowledge that porn has changed much over the years including the talent pool of porn models. I also think there is something else at play that leads us to think that models of the past are more attractive. There is a bias for the best porn with the most attractive models to survive the years. Lets say you save only your favorites and you are one who likes to clean up your collection by deleting old content. You decide to go through your SD videos and keep only your favorites that have endured the years. When you look back at your collection in 5 years after the clean up, you will conclude that models back then were hotter. You may not recall as well just how many medicore models you weeded out, you will just look back and see the models that turned you on year after year. The same goes for the sites themselves. Although it seems that piracy, poor marketing, outdated low resolution content, and randomness in the personal lives of the owners are the greatest factors affecting site closures, there is still a slow weeding out based on quality. If you look at sites that still host content that is over 10 years old such as ALS, 21Sextury, DDF, and to go way back ColorClimax, they are all high production value sites featuring models that are a cut above.
