An Industry In Trouble?

I've noticed that there are more and more compilation DVDs, not only on Videosz but on other sites as well. Scenes that I have previously downloaded are re-appearing in differently named DVDs with alarming frequency.

Looks like the producers have given up on new shoots and are just presenting randomly picked older scenes under a new name and cover. There is one scene in one of today's updates at Videosz that was in another update only three days ago.

Sometimes these haphazardly stitched together "new" DVDs don't even stick to the theme proclaimed in their title. There was one recently that had "cream pies" as its theme with only ONE scene inside that fit the niche. I don't care for this particular niche but those who do must have been scratching their heads: what were they thinking of?

anyonebutme (14) But we already knew that. 8,000 dvds for $17.95 eventually has its breaking point on the industry.

Yep, the updates lately are proof of that! I just hadn't expected to see the same scene under a different title only three days later ... which set off above comment.

pat362 (367) I would gladly welcome compilation dvd's if they brought back scenes from the 80's and early 90's. If shooting new content is too expensive and you want to make some quick and easy cash then release stuff that isn't availbale anywhere.

There have been some that contained older material, Pat, but the quality was really bad. I am a perfectionist when it comes to picture quality so I had to pass in favor of something newer.

I am too but I'd rather have some less than stellar older content than repackaged 2yrs old content. My ultimate wish is the releasing of cleasned up porn from the 70's and 80's. Specially stuff that is no longer available anywhere. I know it's not going to happen but one can always hope.

That would be a dream come true for me as well, Pat. Linda Lovelace and company in HD, or at least DVD quality, wow! I am so tired of Gonzo style porn.

The sad part is that some amazing porn is being lost to time. How long is it going to be when no one remembers that porn once had an actual story and amazing acting in it all the while offering some great sex scenes? Will most performers be remembered 20yrs from now? I don't know why no on bothers to clean up and digitize old movies. I know there is a market for it.
