+Pretty large archive (closing in on 3000 movies).
+Extremely good at getting cast list accurate.
+Extremely good at associating performers with scenes.
+Extremely low overlap with other movie sites like VideoBox, VideosZ or the sort.
+Lots of old classics are available on the site.
+Gay, Shemale and Transsexual content is separate and on its own site.
+Stream downloading speeds are superb. Buffering is non-existent.
+Images of the front and back covers provided with every movie.
+Exact scene lengths provided for every scene.
+Directories of pornstars and movies are easy to navigate.
+Every movie is 640x480 resolution and therefore full-screened the video does not look pixelated.
+The cookie system works well. I never get logged out from the site.
+No watermarks in videos. |

-Movies are not (meant to be) downloadable. All scenes are streaming flash.
-No quality options. All videos are provided as a single flash quality (640x480, 700KBps video, 32KBps audio).
-No scene or movie count listed anywhere. TheBestPorn says there are 84,000 movies. The promo page says 200,000 HD videos and 500,000 total videos. I count around 2,900 (2,867 as of 12/23/08, to be exact). Which is something like 15,000 videos if you assume an average of 5 scenes per movie. Rather misleading. Makes me wonder where the other 485,000 movies are.
-New release page not organized by movie, rather by scene.
-Movies do not list addition date.
-No search function.
-In the flash movie player there is a fast forward button which forwards 10-15 seconds, but the review button just goes back to the beginning of the movie (???).
-Bonus content is worthless, although if you are into the shemale content, your password works with their sister shemale site (dicksonchicks.com).
-Expensive! $39.95! |

What I mean by "not meant to be" downloadable in the Cons section is that with the right tools you can download the streamed movies to your hard drive. The flash player is just playing a FLV file from a remote server and certain FREE tools can tell you the link to that FLV file, which you can then use in any popular free download manager like FlashGet. But for the average Joe who has no clue how to use a computer let alone use these tools to his advantage, the videos for all intents and purposes are not downloadable. Which is a shame considering the very low overlap rate with other movie sites like VideoBox and the sort.
The price for this site is outrageous. $39.95/mo! It seems like a steal based on the promo page which says they have 500,000 movies and 200,000 HD movies. But I do not count 500,000, let alone 100,000, let alone 50,000 movies. I count 2,900 movies (2,867 to be exact), and maybe 15,000 scenes (approximation based on an average 5 scene per movie assumption). Not only do I wonder where the other 485,000 movies are located, I wonder where the 200,000 HD movies are!!! Every single one of the scenes provided on this site (yes EVERY) is standard 640x480 video. There is not a single 1080p HD, let alone 720p HD, let alone 720x480 HD video anywhere to be found.
At $39.95/mo I expect to get a huge archive with exclusive content with unlimited downloads. Yes, the huge archive is there, and yes the exclusive content is there (exclusive in that you won't find the movies on other DVD sites like VideoBox), but the downloads are not. Everything is 640x480, streaming flash which for average Joe is not downloadable. For me it is, since I know what I'm doing with a computer, but porn sites are meant for the average Joe, not the tehcie Deepak. The fact that they are all 640x480, one quality is not what bothers me - the downloads, and thus the buffering, is not all that large, or long - its the lack of the downloads for people who don't know how to otherwise download flash streams. And for that reason I would not recommend this site to anyone who likes to DOWNLOAD porn. People who love to just stream porn for a one timer will be in heaven here, but you can get that with any site, especially at VideoBox, and at 25% the price.
The site says you can get a free lifetime membership with completion of two offers, but for a $39.95/mo site my best guess (as I didn't inspect the offers) is that the offers require some sort of excessive, undesirable purchase...and I'm sure no one is going to take those up. So for all intents and purposes you will be paying $39.95/mo. And for a streaming-only site with no downloads, $39.95/mo itself is rather excessive. |
