Brazzers (3)

No Badges TRUST USER?   YES (2), NO (0)
Status: Was a member approx. 1 month prior to this review.
Pros: First I love the setup, the customer involvement, the way the scenes are set up. Outstanding workmanship, lots of working to find out what customers like, want to see, photo sets alone are a reason to belong to this site. I used to be in the business, this is top quality work, story lines, video and photography. I would pay the full price for this site with no complaints and keep the membership on a year-round basis.

The site is 100, the associated site (live models chat, deserve a minus rating, should be coded illegal)
Cons: They have some sort of live model/conversation section, got an e-mail that it was about to expire, so I clicked in. Some time later (within a week) I get an email saying I had a $4 credit - for what? Didn't recognize the site name.
I clicked it, it was the "Live" site" hey I'm 69 with heart failure, what do I need that for, closed page. (I was there perhaps 3 seconds. Never left the hotmail page to open their page in separate/new tab)
Result: $4.00 charge, $2.00 charge, $565.00 charge (declined!!!) One day before my Social Security check of $1185.00 - that would have killed me! No food, no medicine, no place to live. Scared the crap out of me. Cancelled the card, called the bank to keep an eye out.

Too bad, I love Brazzer's but am too terrified to go back after a simple "click" could have ruined me..
Bottom Line: Be careful, these sites, or associate sites are vicious. Their "charging" companies are set up to just say, you were warned, it's in the fine print. I belong to the xbiz news organizations and receive the ads from these companies, they are proud of this and "hawk" their wares about getting extra cash out of aggressive practices.

They get your cc number and hold on to it, if you get a harmless looking ad or offer and 'click" on it for more info, you get charged the LONG (full) price. Complain? Don't bother, they will explain that when you signed for "that" site a few days or months ago you OK'd ALL future charges. You are stuck with the bill, then informed that if you fight the bill you'll be charged with fraud. Nice, eh?

And companies wonder why people stay away, (the old timers who got nailed) but the new customers line up like sheep, get shorn then become wise (and ex-customers)

Too bad, I did love Brazzer's....

elephant (67) Blimey I'm staying away from this site, thanks for the warning. why do companies have to resort to these low unscrupulous acts of business. Its terribly to treat your customers this way, the people that pay you honest money and give you a living then to say oh F*** them we'll send them these emails to have them click on ads and charge them more. damn right disgusting.

I'd change the score to reflect this more if I was you.

I wanted to somehow say, Brazzer's Good, the chat, or cam site bad.

The thing is that it is hard to do. I was at another site, it was Reality Kings I think, got an e-mail. get it for ONLY 7.95 charged monthly! WOW!! Charged monthly? Not a 6 month or 1 year deal?

Had to check it out. Clicked on the ad, got a click to take advantage of the deal and get more info...

Clicked for for more Info...

Thank you!!! You will be billed 29.95!!!! That's all, no info, not signup page NADA.

Called immediately, yelled and screamed. They told me that I should have read the info on the sign up page. THERE WAS NO SIGN UP PAGE!!

Finally to shut me up, they said they'd refund the money, I requested an email confirming this... Here it is:

Dear Raymond Beyer,

Sorry to hear that in my review of BabeNetwork it was a less hostile experience. But cancelling was not easy there and I was charged even though cross checked were removed.

I was wondering why you gave such a high score of ninety since the site had poor practices ??

As I said I wanted to give Brazzers the benefit of the doubt. It would be incredulous (to me) for a business/site to work so hard for customer interaction on one hand and pull such business destroying tactics on the other.

One side (Brazzer's)seems determined to create a base of loyal RE-Occurring (billing) members.

The other site/sales site/business(possibly not-related) site seems set up to be devious, miss-represent and take advantage of that same trust.

So I created my perception, Brazzer's - the site itself - excellent. The other (if it is separate) is bad, bordering on illegal (IMO)

Then I went into a lot of details for you (and others) to make a determination for yourselves. If they are the same entity, then to answer your question, Yes, the score should be 50 (the lowest possible)

I'm a little confused as to which site now they charged you for. Reality Kings and Brazzers I thought were separate companies or maybe it was one of these promos for another company was it.

Anyway if its Epoch that has wrongly charged you for something you didn't order you maybe lucky as they are from my experience the best payment system out there.

Go to Epoch.com and find live chat, you'll be able to speak to someone for free and tell them that this was not ordered and the 29.95 was taken without your permission. they should refund you and send you confirmation whilst you are still in live chat.

Hope it works out.

Brazzer's and Reality Kings ARE separate, the comments can be confusing in hindsight. The review was on Brazzer's. The problem was with their associate site (the attempt at the $565.00 charge.

The Epoch comment was in RESPONSE to another member's reply about the practices that are making a minefield of charging you for things you had NEVER intended or used. The "Already clicked" Cross sells were bad enough, but this auto-charge is making things worse - BTW, did you ever notice if you aren't careful, the boxes can "re-check" themselves if you refresh the page. I am almost to the point if I see a cross-sell box I close the page and do not buy their product, my tolerance (as well as others) is getting more and more frayed.

I DID go to EPOCH, (to answer your reply) I did the LIVE chat. I enclosed in my reply statement to that other member, a copy of the E-Mail Epoch SENT me where they AGREED to refund the charge. THEY NEVER did AND refused to acknowledge any future communication. I had asked them at the time for a confirmation email. (Which I kept, and pasted a copy of here.)

Epoch argued that I should have read the terms on the sign-up page - THERE WAS NO sign-up page. No "Terms" NO "amount" to be charged, just a teaser ad/email for a low price, click for more info, and you get charged from the cc on file. (And remember in both instances I called within minutes of the charge, not days or hours later AND never went to the site or the site I had originally signed up for again.)

I think the most frustrating thing is Epoch kept up the comment of you "Read the Terms" ignoring the fact that there was NO agreement page. (And NEVER checking it out which made me suspicious that this was becoming a common practice now) And make no mistake, up until that time I had UTMOST confidence in Epoch. The point connecting the 2 places are these trick charges (is that a fair term?) They are become more commonplace as you read the various forums. The trust "Gained" by Adult sites and payment companies over the years are being eroded more and more in a name of a "fast buck". In the end You have to consider, Epoch was involved and did NOTHING but keep the money, regardless of their statement. This I feel makes them complicit (IMO). I used to be in the Adult business and this upsets me to no end! How much business/money does the Adult Industry lose doing these tricks, I bet it is considerable. You can build the greatest site in the world and still be considered "cheap' by pulling stunts like this. People are voting with their wallets and not signing up anymore. I am getting to the point of considering one of those rechargeable Credit Cards for safety or a $50.00 only account.

I'm sorry if these series of replies are confusing, you have to read all the comments and replies in the order they were made here to keep it in some sort of context. But Yes, I tried it your way, didn't work. Thank you for replying! 8)
