Actually I chose the first one, though really my answer, had it been a verbal question, would have been, "yes, sometimes". Not currently (due to my recent surgery) things have been working well enough during my recover without it.

Get well soon! I've had a few surgeries. Not always easy to get through it all.
RE: the question, no. I know Hugh Hefner has sworn by it, but I'm still not ready to tinker with my body chemistry that way.

The VA only provides four of them (for a fee at $2.00 a pop) a month. Wonder how they came up with that number. And like I said, I don't always need it, it just makes it easier to stroke it off. I respect your answer though, yet you have to admit, your doctors probably given you drugs which might be considered "tinkering" products. It's amazing - truly mind boggling actually - how well pharmaceutical companies do $$$$$$$$$$$

Pharma companies are doing well because they have what we don't: organizational power and financial power. They have Congress in their pockets. Wanna know how the health insurance companies manage to bill us for prescription meds we don't even get? That's how.

Well now - you nailed the hammer in the center didn't you?
Pharms, as you surely know, are not the only ones who use lobbyists to get their way. As I've continuously said, Follow the Money.
Lobbyists have contributed greatly to legislators ability to become millionaires WHILE they are legislating bills that gives big business what they want.
Republican & President Dwight D Eisenhower warned of this phenomenon during his Presidency of the Military Industrial Complex, though his scope was limited to his experience, (5 Star General in WW2). He failed to recognize that he only had to drop "Military" from the statement and he would have been succinct in the warning - which, of course, America ignored.
We really don't have a democracy. What we have is a Big Business Controlled country. While we want big business to succeed in their endeavors - just not at the American people's expense.
According to a Gallup poll from 2002, the majority of the American people believe our government doesn't represent the will of the people. It's distressing because I don't think we will be able to turn it around going forward.

I know (x the points you made). It's the biggest open secret the US has got. And we don't trust them and they don't care.

It's funny but for years now I've been saying, "if the people knew the truth, they'd drag their leaders through the streets."
