Site crashes my browser every time

I'd like to join this site but can't! Every time I click on it it crashes my browser (Firefox) immediately. I've tried it over a few days in case the site was having temporary problems, and I've tried the link here, via a Google and Yahoo! search and just typing the address in full in the address bar but it won't work every time.

Other sites from the same group seem to be working fine. Anyone else having trouble?

Just tried. It loads OK in Firefox for me. But I do use an old version of FF (3.6.13).

Chances are that one of your Firefox addons is coughing on something on the site.

You can try:
Close Firefox.
Go to the Windows programs menu and find Firefox.
Choose start Firefox in safe mode.
Then try to browse to the site.

If it works, then the problem lies with one of your addons.
Then it is a matter of starting Firefox in normal mode, disabling each addon in turn until you find the one that was causing the problem.

If safe mode did not work, you have only the options of a different browser or a different version of Firefox.

Oh - before all that, try clearing cache and cookies.

Wow, thanks for the really helpful reply, I appreciate you taking so much trouble!
Actually I do find Firefox has been crashy for a while, but it kind of comes and goes and this is the only site which crashes it 100% of the time.

I keep meaning to reinstall Firefox totally - reinstalling it but with my old settings saved doesn't help - or move to another browser, but none of the other browsers I've tried really suit me - I prefer a old-fashioned layout, and the others are too streamlined and minimalist for me, can't find anything.

Also I don't want to lose all my bookmarks and passwords but I know that's just laziness!

I'll try what you suggest - it might turn out it solves my Firefox issues overall!

Hey there thanks so much for your help, it worked! Turns out a RealPlayer add-on/extension was causing the issue, and then Firefox said that extension was known to cause issues with Firefox anyway. I disabled that and it worked fine. In fact I've now uninstalled RealPlayer completely and touch wood, my browser seems much more stable now!

Really, really appreciate your help!

I am really pleased it worked! And not surprised Real Player was the problem.

Thank you for the feedback too. It can be so annoying when people don't say if something worked or not as then I can't learn anything.

I hope you enjoy the site.
