A warning about CCBill’s usuries to residents outside of the US$ zone…
On many websites I have noticed that CCBill charge in one’s local currency – in my case, in GBP.
I thought that this was a ‘nice’ (and convenient) service.
But, this is a typical example of “THE WOLF CLOTHED AS A SHEEP”!
Working out what it should cost in GBP, and compare the result with what CCBill charges; I found that CCBill is slapping on 39+% above the basic rate of exchange.
More than a week ago I sent an email to CCBill, titled ‘usury’, asking how they could justify this exorbitant fee.
Surprise, surprise, CCBill did not reply – did not even bother with supplying the standard bullshit one is used to from banks…
In summary: they have shown; not only are they committing ‘daylight robbery’ but the 24/7 ‘service’, they brag about, is @ their discretion (And convenience!) but may well be 0/7.
Fuming about the above, I sent an email to Videobox, asking for an alternative payment agent, which is mentioned on their website, but is very elusive when it comes to do the business.
Like what has happened inumerable times before during the last two years, I have tried to contact Videobox - as a subscriber or 'outsider' - I had no reply. I.e. the 24/7 'service' is more like 0/365.
The site now boasts 5,003 videos as of 8:00am Pacific today and they continue to add 5 a day (that's a rate of 1,095 per year). They have the largest number now and will be insurmountable as we go forward (unless they are insurmountable already).
I can't download faster than 10 kb/sec . Reported fault to Videobox and got the following reply:

Everyone knows I am a huge Videobox fan. So I was thrilled Saturday morning to see that they have now took away the pop up menu to select which video option you would like. Now they have all the options listed right on the page with the download link. Plus they tell you the size and the resolution for each choice.
Also, they now have the option to download for the IPod and in H.264.
This really does make life so much easier! Some of the older videos even have the new options as well. Less time queuing up downloads and more time enjoying them!! :)
I join the site about once a year. Technically, the site has improved this year and the content is as good as ever but at the moment I'm experiencing very slow download speeds, usually less than 10Kb/s which means it takes hours to download even a non-DVD quality clip. It's probably a victim of its own success...
Tech support didn't seem interested, I just got a standard 'it's probably our ISP' reply.
Needless to say, I have cancelled my sub. and will think carefully before rejoining next year.
I've been a member of VideoBox on and off 5 times now, and one run lasted for 4 months and of my 2.3 Terabytes of Bottom Drawer Porn I guess at least 1/5 is from VideoBox...

I'd like to be able to walk down the Classics isle and not find 1/2 empty shelves and leftovers going stale...
Whilst they have a focus on ensuring as new titles become available they have their cut on VideoBox...it would be nice to see them looking at filling the shelves in the Classics isle, what about the Buttman Series...what about the Ginger Lynns and Amber Lynns and Bobbi and Savannah and Alicyn Sterling and Candy Evans and Tami Monroe...

DVD quality for what prize of space 30mins=800mb in some rare cases but its becoming more common for every day (Thats my feelings). The dvd quality files has become bigger in general more then the quality of the video has become better, I think. 4 years ago I would think it was okay but today 800mb for a file of 30mins is to much
So Beware If you dont have the fastest internet (or much space left) maybee next best quality is good enough.
After using the site for awhile know i notice that the search function does not yield all available scenes/movies. For example if I do a search on a actress I will get the movies and the scenes that she is in, but when I just surf around I find more movies that she is in that the search function missed. Anyone else notice that as well.
I do not want the honored members of this fine PU to regard this user as someone who's going for a hassle on VB.
But, man.....fellow users...as a member of VB for who know how many times, I still get the bummer-feeling.
Going for the latest updates, want do I find: Old stuff, videos the bookstore down at the corner have for a buck or less - or maybe even have gotten rid of - long time ago.
AND some of these videos in socalled "HD" is less than shit in tech quality...
If this is what we want, then I back out.

I am in the middle of a one month subscription because I was attracted by the low price of the site and also wanted to see what a pure video site was like, so take my comments with a grain of salt as further search might reveal that I am wrong about my biggest beef and that is that most DVDs are of U.S. origin!
Which means tons of "enhanced" breasts, shameless overacting when it comes to fake orgasms and the enjoyment of the act itself. All those yelps and screams drive me nuts because they are so phony.
I checked out a few of the Asian DVDs ... what a difference. Much more believable. The site would benefit greatly from more international videos even though they might present a language problem for those who prefer their yelps in English. It's a good site, well worth the subscription fee for those who love videos and are willing to put up with the basic sameness of U.S. productions. However, I think I'll move on after my month is up.
Because of Denner's comment last week about video quality on the site, I spent half a lazy Saturday looking through a good bit of the content up on the site. Damn if there aren't a lot of clunkers. Videos that look like they were lit with a 100 watt bulb... tons of the ones that look like they were filmed with orange filters on the lens and some that look like they were filmed with an 8mm camera... There are still a lot of "good enough" and "better than average" on up to really good resolution files so, yeah, it must be the price that keeps us coming back. I still say this is one of those sites you join, leave, then come back to as the content builds up - despite the crap. But, if they raise the price, I'd probably think twice before clicking the join link.

I maybe was a bit hard in using the word "warning" in last comment.
But, honestly - from a users point of view, I still don't get it.
VB is a video-site - with old, really old and newer movie-clips. But the vast amount of content still do not just the obvious lack of viewing-quality in what you download - either the cheap one or the bit more expensive one in socalled DVD-quality....
Just joined this half-good site again, and again and again...
Half good because the video-quality is generally less than most other places. Better because of the hugh amount.
BUT, man: Joined the cheap way first (9.95), again, because the more expensive DVD-membership has NOT done it in former membership.
And what do I do - upgrade (again), silly me.....
NO NEED - the SOCALLED DVD-quality is NOT better than the socalled high resolutions in video - just MUCH bigger in file-size.
Did some/several downloads of the same files in those two - alleged qualities, but: NO significant difference in vewing-pleasure - or no-pleasure!!
Hope I can stay away in the future.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate a bit, but do realize that I really like this site and plan on keeping my subscription for a while.
My concerns aren't that significant, but they can get in the way some time. Most of the vids aren't a little older and their "new releases" have typically been out for several months at least. The tagging is also inconsistent. If I search for Miko Lee, I get 41 scenes; if I add 'Asian' as a category, there's supposedly only 28 Asian scenes with Miko Lee. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Those are my main issues with VideoBox. The downloading format is awesome and enough to keep me subscribed. Whether you want a full download, a streaming vid, or just that 2-minute money shot clip from the middle of the film, you can get it. For less than 20 bucks, it doesn't get much better.

Up to this pint, I alraedy tried about 25 sites or networks, usually mainstream-sites with high ratings at TBP or our site.
I telly you, this site rocks! It's just perfect if you're video-lover.
What makes videobox so great is their great search options. I'*ve never seen such well-working search, that's what makes it fun and easy to cruise around the site looking for good stuff. You always find links and recommendations, very nice!!!

It's all very well having great videos and frquent updates but if the download speed is poor (less than 10Kbps) then the rest is for nothing. I queried and they simply put it down to their ISP - cop out. I have cancelled my membership and would warn others of this problem.
I just tried to use the TBP/PU discount for monthly membership. However, the discounted rate of $14.95/month does not seem to be valid anymore. I can only get the normal rate of $17.95/month for DVD-resolution access.
While $17.95 is not outrageous, it is disappointing to see that the discount no longer works for this site. I used to be a member, but I am now reconsidering whether to rejoin this site.
UPDATE: After working with the webmaster, I was able to gain access to the $14.95 discount price by clearing my cookies. Way to go, VideoBox!
I've been a VideoBox subscriber for a long time (2+ years) and am very impressed by its continuing low, low price, the volume of content (over 1800 videos added each year), the "review" section where users can post comments about each video and, indeed, each scene, and a reasonably accurate (about 95% of the time) model search interface capability.
With 5 new full videos added each and every day, there are some "non-mainstream" videos, (trannies, midgets, etc.), far more than any other site and no limits at all.
They have now added a flash feature so a member can check out a scene in good resolution with no waiting and also have an algorythm that will suggest videos based on a mermber's viewing history. (This feature can be disabled if a member doesn't want his history tracked.)
For price, volume of content, quality and simplicity of the various features, I feel TBP's score of 98 is well deserved. (But if your into photos, not video, this site's not at all for you. No photos at all.)
VideoBox has a date for the videos when they're placed on the site. Wouldn't it be great if VideoBox also told us which year or even century the videos are produced.
Seems more and more videos are getting older and older.....

Maybe it's time to reconsider.
It must be about time that, in valuation of a web-site, consideration to modern factors be included.
I am disappointed with 'Videobox' (or rather that my beef is valued to only 2%.) with regard to three issues:
1. Downloaded clips are NOT "DVD quality".
2. For those, like myself, who want to edit the clips (to cut the crap out -which = 60-80% of the total-) it is a nightmare to deal with the clips in the editing software, as the clips have been segmented to anything between 50 and 90 pieces. Why is this so? Nobody else seem to be doing this.
3. 'Videobox' is very busy, or full of themselves (arrogant?), as they more often than not can't be arsed to answer emails.
I'm back again and again - taken in by some (few) good videos in their extremely good preview.
But the preview is still the best. Because when you get into the site it's the same as ever.
Their new design is a bit exiting in the beginning - but when you have browsed things everything seems like always: some new and some bad old videos in one big mix - videos/DVDs you can buy for a nickel in discount porn-stores.
But ok, that's what you get for $ 14.95.
Discount-stuff.

While I'm not a huge fan of DVD sites, I do join videobox about 3-4 times a year. I've always loved the simplicity of the site and how user friendly it is. But, even I would say the site was starting to look stale, it has looked the same for over two years.
The new change sees videobox taking a page from American Vice DVD site. Search within a search. Which to me is a great idea and should be on all DVD sites. Like if you search, "Latina" the Latina DVDs come up, you can then search "Anal sex" it will narrow all of those Latina DVDs down to ones with Anal Sex in them. I have only one complaint that I also sent in on their feedback thingamajig. At first, I couldn't find the download button. I kept clicking it, but it kept wanting to stream it. Finally, I noticed a little arrow on the button that you click and the resolution options pop up.
I guess my favorite part of the new look is the index page.
Can anyone tell me who that lovely brunette on the title page in a tiny green bikini is? I'm not real familiar with many porn models, but I would love to get some clips of her. The site is still the best DVD site in my opinion, and looks to be burying every other DVD site by the day!
