I've never had a problem using the monthly calendars and don't wind up back where I started as the OP mentioned, but they do really need to make it possible to search for models by name and to search for work across the network.
The bizarre thing is that non-members can find a particular model's work across the network easier than members can. So what are you supposed to do? Go into the site in one browser as a member and go into it with a different browser to search as a non-member?
They need to fix this. They are working on integrating the network - if you go into some of the secondary sites as a member of Pix&Video, you'll be in a beta area that is integrated, though it needs a LOT of work, in my opinion, to be as user friendly as it could/should be.
For instance, with the beta you can choose a site from the network in a single windown with a pull-down menu, but you cannot see all updates across the network, which is really where they should go, if at all possible.
The frustrating thing about the secondary sites is that they dole out the updates over the course of 7/8 days - adding pics and video clips to the same update - so even if they had the thing I described as seeing updates across the network, if you wanted to be looking at complete updates, you would need to be looking back to see what the update was 8 days ago.
As I say, they've got a lot of work to do to make this network as good as it could/should be - but jumbly as it is, the current deal gives members a whole lot of very good material.
If you start from 40 and go backwards, it looks to be true that more than 1/2 are no longer updating - I see 5 or so that just stopped updating in September '09, though, so I assume that they updated weekly between Nov '08 and then.
There are 15 or so that are updating weekly and now they gave access to Zoliboy. It looks like the deal now is to give 25 sites to start with that include Pix and Video, Club Sandy and Zoliboy.
They could make the whole thing better with advances in the size of pics and more HD vids, but they're doing solid work on a number of sites, including bonus sites such as DP Fanatics, Cuties Galore, Anal Teen Angels and Lez Cuties.
I also like the one Nikita. Viv Thomas' site turned me on to her. That's interesting about Angel Pink. I had only seen a few sets of her before joining P&V. Then again, I don't join as many sites as I used to, so I've probably just missed her rise. Kind of reminds me of Angelica Heart, but prettier.
I was pleasantly surprised with the changes at Pix and Video. I thought when they went to the network that they no longer updated Pix and Video daily, but they do. I think they've probably borrowed a bit from the way 1byday used to be. They have one day a week that is a girl/girl set, b/g hardcore on Friday, three days of solo masturbation sets, one day of casting and the casting is good, includes strip by a brand new model though the interviews are just okay, and one day that is a photoshoot style video. The photoshoot one is similar to ALS Scan's photoshoot videos, not as good as an in-action video, but better than bloopers.
The thing that surprised me the most though was the quality of the new models. I don't know if you've seen Angel Pink or not, she is newer, has a set or two on Twistys, maybe a set on 1bday, absolute doll, she has 5 sets on Pix and Video just over the past few months. Some old favorites are still showing up too, like Angelica Heart and Bambi. They're getting some models I've never seen, I know you like blondes, they have one Jacelin, believe she is a natural blonde, great body, similar body to Eve Angel. To me, they are putting as much into their site as any site I've been on. Plus, you always get a video with the newer models, not just photoshoots like Teen Dreams is doing with their new models.
Having said this, I think 1byday is getting the message. It seems they've now cut the blooper updates down to every other week, instead of every Sunday and they've stopped posted ALS Scan content as a new update for them. Nothing like good competition to make all the sites better!
The videos I got from the site were not of impressive quality. I was rather disappointed. They are all like 400x300 in blurry quality. Its a disappointment considering that they put out DVD's of their content, all of which is in high definition widescreen for the most part.
Yes, I'd been away for a whole year and signed up. Agree that the bonus sites are nothing to cheer about. Actually, I went through them a little more than once (not quite twice) and just lost interest.
By analogy, that little prize in the box of Cracker Jacks I got a few times as a kid was more satisfying. (Ouch!)
And I don't suppose they've upgraded their image sizes past the 1280 pixel barrier yet, either.
I'm not that impressed, either, by this system they have. You do get access to a lot of websites when you join PixAndVideo and I think it could be 30, but to me those sites aren't that hot in quality. In fact, they have errors such as missing or broken links and some poor-grade video and image quality compared to the real 21st Sextury material.
It is a step forward to add ClubSandy to the "loyalty" bonus, I suppose, but it's a very small step. And it's more of a step backward to no longer offer the $45 deal for both PixAndVideo and Club Sandy together. It's the difference between $45 once and $30 at least twice.
Basically, they stepped backward more so they could then step forward less. Not terribly exciting, is it?
It's deal for people that think it would be worth it to be a ongoing member - not any good deal for people that are "join for a month" types. But considering that Pix & Video updates every day and has a 3-month "join" option that is $20/month, being an ongoing member knowing that in a number of months you'll also have membership to Club Sandy - and getting membership to a number of other fine sites in the meantime, some of which, such as the BDSM sites that I mentioned, are unique and good sites on their own - it's hard for me to see that as a ripoff. I've found this network to be a good thing, except when they have their access issues, which haven't been an issue in a while.
Hey Denner, they have upgraded the new videos. It is hard to give an exact number since the new movie files are .mp4 and the properties doesn't give a resolution option. The bitrate is faster, making the action smoother and the resolution itself looks to be in the 600 range, instead of the previous 440, also some look to be widescreen, meaning above 600 in width.
So, there are some improvements, also a lot of people believe the mp4 files are better than the avi ones, to begin with. If you check those out, I recommend getting the VLC Media Player to watch the mp4 files in it. Quicktime will play them, but it doesn't go full screen on my monitor and though there are codecs for playing mp4 in windows media player, they are choppy in WMP. Which is probably the fault of the codecs. VLC plays them perfectly.
They also are improving the picture quality, which hasn't happened yet, but is supposed to increase to 2000-3000 high range on those. The best part is that they are still adding some of the older Euro models like Eve Angel content, of course Sandy on Club Sandy, you don't see these more known models on the other sites that often these days.
I just had a look through pretty-virgins. I might have seen it but passed since there's nothing about zips or pic sizes in the public area. And the signup is for 30 smackaroonies, too. Looks like the typical Russian approach, judging by the color schemes. How did you like it?
You could use the internal e-mail ("contact us") at the bottom of this page and mention the site to the PU admins. I've gotten sites onto the TBP/PU lists that way myself. And maybe you have already, too.
One other thing about a site like that is whether it's still fully processing members. I just joined mberotica, which isn't listed at TBP either, and they took my money (via ccbill) but the login page doesn't work (doesn't even load) and the member's support e-mail address bounces back at me with a 550 error msg. Very nice! CCBILL tells me they're working on the problem.
So mberotica gets an "honorable" (perhaps "dishonorable"?) mention at PU, anyway, right here. LOL
Denner, I just noticed where you talk about the speed problems on Pix and Video, I also have a speed problem on there with a 10 M connection. Mine will open, then after loading about half of the models on that page, just slow down to dial-up speed, causing many of the models pictures to be replaced with the little dreaded red x in the corner. I don't have as much of a problem with it on Club Sandy, though it also does it a little. I've not noticed their other sites that come with pixandvideo having as much slowdown on them.
I just rejoined a few weeks ago, and did not realize they are now giving 10 extra bonus sites, which I didn't find much in them that interested me, but I'm wondering if they are getting too much content going at the same time. Good review, there are very few multi-model sites that have the quality and quanity that P&V has.
Was it too much of a hassle to cancel? Can you cancel online?

I remember watching video tape of Playboy playmates and models 15 or so years ago, and the "trailer-style" editing was the norm then, too. It would be nice if they'd try a different tack and slow down, as you say.

I'm, sorry to hear about your problem. I joind one of Playboy's site a couple of years ago and I discovered that the only way to cancel was by calling them. That's the main reason why I will never join another Playboy site. If I join by email then I should be able to cancel by email. Do they have a support page that you can email and explain your problem?
And if you read the fine print, you will discover that they sell your personal information to spam agents!!! Unless of course you have had business dealings with them, then you are exempt. Playboy is SO 20th century!!!
