I just wanted to let you know that I wrote a long-ish reply to your review but when I clicked 'add reply' I got a warning that my post was invalid. That's happened before and it has showed up later, but in case it doesn't I just want you to know that took the time to read your review and comment on it.
(BTW - one of the things I mentioned is that in the past couple of weeks I'm seeing an improvement in download speeds.)

I'm always interested to read what people think about Legal Porno. I've kept credits there pretty much constantly for the past few years because I like a lot of what they do. One thing that they seem to have more of these days are American stars.
I'm seeing an improvement in download speeds lately (though that could be temporary). The speeds are still slower than I get elsewhere but at least they're better now.
If you're interested in reading this, Alexa Nova posted a blog and she talks about her scenes with LP (all of which are amazing, BTW). It's a fascinating read with the most fascinating part being when Alexa talks about the economics of a scene. She specifically mentions her 5-on-1 scene (where she sticks a toy football up her ass) and notes that the scene got 189,000 views at the time. I don't know if this is true or not, but Alexa says that in order to be counted as a view the person must purchase it. So if the scene costs $5 USD per view then this scene generated revenues of almost $1 million so far. Who says there isn't still money in porn?

That's my experience too. I downloaded a few scenes today and while the download speeds have improved a bit they are still far lower than I'm used to seeing on other sites. If I wasn't such a fan of what LP puts out I'd quit them forever. But the fact that they make great porn keeps me coming back.

Upgrade their servers again? That implies that they've done so in the past! With these speeds it is as if they have an old Atari as their server.
With LP, I'm willing to overlook their quirky ways because there isn't really anyone else like them out there. I even overlooked their requirement that your account had to be verified but at least they've dropped that now. As for pricing, it doesn't happen often, but there are some scenes that can hit near 8 tickets. I realize this is supply-and-demand, but the scenes with A-list American models tend to be priced the highest.

You're right. I just ran a speed test and I got 311 Mbps, which is obviously quite different from 311MBps. I didn't know the difference until now. Thanks for pointing that out.
I just did a test and downloaded a scene from Evil Angel and IDM showed I was getting 40 MB/s. It took maybe 30 seconds to download a 1.68GB scene. I thought that maybe I was capped at downloads but I now see that if I'm getting 40MB/s that's probably much closer to my capacity than I thought.
Thanks for shedding some light on that for a non-tech guy.
But... I get 40MB/s from Evil Angel and get less than 1/40th of that from Legal Porno. I'm still mad at them!

I agree that their pricing structure is confusing but at least they did away with the requirement to confirm your valid credit card before you could download.
I joined here a while back and it was definitely the most expensive site membership I've ever had but I still think it is a good value. This is really good hard-edged porn with top European and Russian models in scenes with high production values. I'll definitely be rejoining at some point. And one commenter here figured out that the best deal is the three-month membership.

I wondered how long they could continue with this practice. While their porn isn't mainstream it isn't niche enough to make prospective members jump through so many hoops. The high price alone will deter buyers so why would they add to the impediments?

Thanks for weighing in on this thread. You make some valid points that will be useful for anyone else considering a membership here.
Towards the end of my one-month membership I realized that I needed to think about the site differently from a traditional membership-based site. I really did need to be more selective, but that isn't a bad thing. The next time I join (and there will be a next time with a three-month membership) I'll go in knowing that I need to approach things differently.
One point you mention that didn't occur to me but really needs to be highlighted is the sheer number of updates available here. It may have been me who contrasted LP with Kink. if I did it was more about the type of porn rather than the frequency of uploads, but you're right: this site adds a lot. And what they upload isn't cheap to make so buyers should expect to pay more.
I've always made the point that I'm willing to pay for porn because that means that more porn will be produced. The LP model is a clear example of that.
I'd agree that even with the confusing business model, the quantity of some unique and amazing porn makes this a best-in-class site. Admittedly this is a small class, but LP rules it.

Thanks for taking the time to add your comments. I really like this site but their business model is certainly unusual. The porn they offer is certainly unlike anything else on the internet (that I've seen, and I'm an active buyer).
Thanks for noting that with the three-month membership there is an option to buy tickets at a discounted price. Another commenter figured out that the three-month option is the best deal but your information makes it clear that this is definitely the best way to go. I'll likely rejoin in six months or so, and when I do I'll follow the excellent advice I've been given here.

I compare it to a company like Kink.com that has some porn that pushes the envelope a bit but still uses the traditional subscription model. The Kink shoots have to cost as much or more than the LP stuff does. Apart from VOD sites I don't know of any other site that bills subscribers like this. And I hope there aren't many others...

Thanks for the comment. I said it earlier, but it bears mentioning again: when your site takes three experienced porn buyers to figure out you may be doing it wrong. I'm sure their porn is expensive to make - many scenes have multiple models and most feature some extreme acts - but I agree that if they simplified their business model they could improve sales. I first heard about LP on another forum and it was raised by someone who asked a legitimate question as to whether the site even took memberships from outside Europe. That may be a silly question for any other site, but this one is so complex to join and use it was a valid question.

There are definitely three different types of scenes: those that are free to members, those that cost 'free' tickets and those that cost 'premium' tickets. But the 1500+ videos listed in the free section are definitely free for members. No tickets need to change hands. I only encountered three scenes in the many I downloaded that cost free tickets. I don't even know how a member earns those.
You might be exactly right about the LP scenes being in the free section but still needing a free ticket. That might also be the answer to your earlier question about actual LP scenes being in the free section. Since I only encountered three that required free tickets maybe that's an indication of how few are available without premium tickets.

You may be right that nothing has been added to the free section since August. Even inside the site I have no way to sort but the latest video there does appear to be that old.
I really don't have much experience with Russian and Eastern European porn so I wasn't aware of the possibility that the free stuff might be licenced from somewhere else. I'm fairly sure that I've downloaded some free videos shot in that white room but I could be wrong.
I was surprised that the videos weren't available in 1080p too. For a site that charges a premium price the quality is lower than it should be. At least the option should be available.

Thanks for the comments pat. Your original comment was a big help to me. I know I'd have been pissed off if I had joined this site without having the information you provided. I'll answer your questions in the order you asked them:
1) A lot of is like that. There are extreme gapes, large toys, hard anal, pee play, stuff like that. DAP seems to be something they pride themselves in. There are even a few TAP scenes with models like Proxy Paige who are known for extreme acts. This isn't normal hardcore porn. You're certainly right that the focus is not usually on the woman's pleasure.
2) Hard to say. They're less 'medical exam' and more 'endurance test.' I'm not sure how to quantify sterile, but the scenes have none of the sexual tension that I like. But I knew that going in.
3) That's really subjective. It does push the boundaries but it isn't unpleasant to look at. Certainly anyone who prefers artcore wouldn't be happy with this kind of porn.
4) I think there is an element of that. I don't find the makeup is often overdone, but the clothes tend to the garish. My preference would be for a more natural look. You can't go wrong with natural.
I'm fairly sure I've missed the mark in some of these answers so feel free to ask anything else. I'll try to be objective in any answers I give you.
