I have to weigh in with pat on this. If Kink isn't THE most reputable adult group on the internet then they're in the top three. My experience is that that always respond to emails. Be patient and I'm confident that the issue will get resolved.

I really liked this site too. I didn't save a lot of the stuff that I downloaded but I did save some of it and like watching it occasionally. It isn't 'hot' in the same sense as traditional porn but I think given Kink's reputation it made sense for them to have these instructional videos.

I agree with you. That was a huge deal when I rejoined and discovered that. I re-downloaded all of my favourite scenes. The other good news is that they are now a 'network' and one subscription gets you access to all the sites.

I'd say that this is an excellent review, but that might sound self-serving. The fact is that if I were to write a review of the Kink network these days it would be pretty much identical to your thorough review.
I haven't been a member there in at least a year and I really can't explain why. I like what they produce and since they've turned it into a network it really is a great value for some of the best BDSM and D/s porn available. I think I'll have to rejoin to check out some of the new sites.
Like you, one of my favourite sites is Public Disgrace so I'm disappointed (but not surprised) that they've had to scale it back. Some of their older content is pretty extreme (in a good way!).
I chuckled at your comments regarding The Upper Floor. Your theory could well be accurate. It isn't a site I download a lot from when I have a membership.
I miss the original format that The Training of O used to use, namely one model (or maybe two) was put through a multi-day D/s, BDSM training session and came out the other end as a trained sub. I know they still have some multi-day shoots but they lack (in my opinion) some of the honesty that the older scenes seemed to have. A memorable example is the Asphyxia Noir scene where they push her fear of heights by putting her in a harness and hoisting her more than 100' in the air. Then they follow that with an honest-to-god waterboarding. Jesus! Other favourites are Amber Rayne. I miss her energy. The Madison Young scene where they take her to the roof and make her exercise in heels is another favourite.
Two scenes from Sex and Submission remain among my favourite porn scenes - Sasha Grey (playing a reporter) and Kat (playing a babysitter).
One site I still miss is Water Bondage. I wish they'd resurrect that one but I suspect the danger level was high and harder to control.
I didn't like it when Pissing became exclusively a girl-on-girl site. The males-on-female scene with Amber Rayne in a urinal is memorable.
As an anal fan Everything Butt is a favourite as well but I recall it went mostly girl-girl too. But it's hard to argue with big stars like Amy Brooke, Casey Calvert and Kristina Rose being anally fisted. (Hmmm... now that I think of it one of my favourite scenes with Amy Brooke being anally fisted was a Public Disgrace scene. She gets fisted and fucked in a pizza shop.)
I'd probably better stop writing now so I don't just turn this into a message about my favourite Kink stuff.

I'm a big fan of Kink too and would score it as high. But, also like you, I think Kink needs to consider what made it great and get back to that. They still are the best BDSM network on the internet and now that they offer a membership that allows access to everything they will remain that way for the foreseeable future. I agree that they need to get back to where they used to be and start a couple of new sites. It's possible that they haven't toned things down (though I think they have) but certainly other sites bring more passion to BDSM. Remember Water Bondage? That was an amazing site and I wish they'd bring that back. It's probably too expensive to produce though. The Training of O has also been toned down a lot. Remember the 'old' days where it really was BDSM training? I really liked some of those older videos filmed over four days with discipline training mixed in with some sex. I just don't 'feel' it with the newer scenes.

I have no insider information obviously, but I read on another forum that they sold the Armory where they used to set all their scenes. That might be a sign of some financial trouble. Their overhead was probably unsupportable given the level of piracy.
I wish them well because they still are the best 'mainstream' BDSM sites on the internet.

I'm not questioning your experience and I haven't been a member there since June of this year, but I've never had any issues downloading. The worst I've had there is that the download speeds are slower than I'm used to seeing but I was able to download and faced nothing like you report.
I hope what you experienced is just temporary. Can you add a comment and update us as your membership is coming to the end? I'd like to know how you make out.

Agreed. I try to wait for sales - whether offered through here or an email offer. The good thing about email offers for me is that I rarely join 'new' sites these days. I have maybe 40 or 50 that I cycle through and often get decent offers to rejoin. But since I'm joining the same sites over and over that means that I have nothing to review.

I suspect it's a mix of greed and desperation for them. They've had some other issues over the past year too. One of their more popular and prolific directors left. They've also started making some scenes from the DDF Network available and I suspect that may have undermined some of their credibility. I can imagine that someone who wasn't aware that these scenes were available on a traditional subscription-based site would be pissed to learn they spent expensive tickets to get a scene instead.
Another problem that crops up regularly is that their download speeds are often very slow. I might be willing to forgive that on a cheap site but LP is so expensive I'd like the buying experience to reflect that.
You've hit on this in your comment and others have mentioned it too on another forum: the number of models they hire (or are willing to work for them) seems to be down. You see the same models over and over again.
I really do hope that LP is able to pull this out of the tailspin they're in. Whether that means that I can afford to buy scenes again or not is irrelevant but I'd like to see them be successful. The scenes they offer are unlike anything else.
I wonder if a traditional subscription-based model would work for them? Well, it would. I don't think there is any doubt about that. Even if the subscription price was higher than normal (even $50 USD per month) and they never offered any discounts I think this would drive a lot of business their way. At $50 per month I wouldn't keep a recurring subscription but I could see joining three or four times per year. I realize that their business model is a bit different since the site is made up of different studios. But I think that’s how Evil Angel works and they’re able to be successful with a subscription model and still keep their directors happy.
(As an aside, I join the two Pierre Woodman sites – Woodman Casting X and Wake Up N Fuck – a few times per year and those are expensive and never offer discounts. But like LP these scenes are unique and I’m willing to spend the money to get access. I really think LP could make a subscription model work.)
I’ll look forward to reading your upcoming review. It’s been a year since I was a regular at LP so I’d like to hear a current and objective viewpoint.

I've done the math several times and the best value always comes out buying tickets. I'm aware that they have some form of subscription service now but I think it's quite limited. As I understand it, if you subscribe you subscribe to a specific studio and only have access to that one. Also, you only get access to the scenes that studio uploads during the month you have a membership.
If you dig around and find any new information please post it here. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in hearing if there is a true subscription to LP.

Interesting review. Thanks for sharing it. I had been a long-time LP buyer but it just got too expensive so I had to give it up a year or so ago. I was pleased to see they were offering a 'subscription' service now but then I learned it is quite limited. I'm guessing that LP can get away with this because for so long they were unique in the style of porn and the quality. I think LP has slipped in the past couple of years.

Thanks for mentioning that. Confusing memberships are a pain in the ass. I was thinking of trying the subscription to a studio but if I only get access to that studio's stuff for the past month than that's probably not worth it.
I was a regular ticket buyer for several years and yes, it can get expensive!

Coincidentally I'm writing a new review of the site but I'm happy to share what I have now.
It doesn't seem that you can buy a membership that gives you access to all the scenes as the most recent reviewer said. It does appear that you can buy a subscription to each individual studio and get access to download all of their stuff though. I don't know if it's limited to that month or not though. This could be an excellent deal for the right person but I'm guessing that it wouldn't work for most collectors like us. LP has 20 studios and I like all of them. I think it would be worse to see videos available that I couldn't access. And what if the studio you subscribed to only had a few scenes per month?
As it stands, I think we're in the same place as before: you really need to do your homework but in some cases (rare cases in my opinion) buying a single studio access may be the better value.
I'm still in the camp of not liking the ticket system but thinking it's the best choice for now.

Holy crap!!! I'm glad i read your review. Up until a couple of months ago I had kept a recurring charge for 50 tickets per month but even then I had to ration them. I gave it up because the cost was so high. But to now learn that they do have an subscription that likely changes things. I'm heading over there now to check it out.

Good point. I find that I need the instant gratification of buying and seeing a new scene once it is uploaded rather than wait for it to move to the free side of the site. I have close to 500 free tickets but I rarely even check out the free scenes because I have most of what I want and got it back when they were on the pay side of the wall. But, as you note, this can be an effective way to get LP scenes for people with self-control and patience.

Valid points. I'd likely sign on for that rate. The drawback for LP would be that many subscribers wouldn't keep recurring membership but would join occasionally to download the scenes posted since the last time they joined. But it would still be very profitable for them. And I agree that the ticket system probably prevents some people from 'joining' who would otherwise take a membership.

I suspect that they are already raking in huge amounts of cash with their current business model which gives them little incentive to change it. They also show no signs of any kind of decline that might otherwise cause them to try something new.
Bear with me while I make some completely uneducated assumptions.
The latest Charlotte Sartre scene is currently showing about 55,000 views. I highly doubt that means that so far 55,000 people have bought the scene. I suspect that number is how many people have accessed the page or watched the trailer. My biggest assumption is on the number of people who then buy the scene. Charlotte is a big-name American star so I’m guessing that a conservative estimate would be that 5% of people who access the scene buy it. That would mean so far that 2750 people have bought it at approximately $5.50USD for a total of just over $15,000USD. I suspect that amount probably has them in the black on the scene already. But remember that the scene just went online yesterday so it still has lots of legs in it. I plan to buy a copy but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Truthfully, I need to add some tickets to my monthly allotment before I can buy it. The Aidra Fox scene took the last of my tickets.
But look at another older scene that probably also generated a lot of interest – Samantha Rone’s first double anal that was uploaded in August 2016. That scene currently has views of 230,000. Again assuming that 5% of viewers buy it that means the scene (based on my uneducated assumptions) grossed approximately $63,000USD. (I had to assume a 5.5 ticket requirement because I bought the scene when it came out so I can’t see the ticket cost for it any longer.) Even if they paid Samantha properly for that scene they have definitely made a lot of money off of it.
I suspect that in choosing the two scenes that I have I am slanting things a bit because these scenes were probably bigger draws than many others. But it’s also possible that my assumption on uptake is low and maybe 10% of viewers buy the scenes. That doubles the gross for each of them.
Not to drag this out, but I think a good comparison is between Kink.com and LP. Kink is clearly in decline. They still produce some of the best BDSM porn available but it seems to me that it is a sign of decline that they can no longer sell memberships to individual sites but now bundle them as a network. If LP is generating the interest that they are then there is lots of life in their business model yet.
But like you, I definitely wish there was a one-price full access membership.

The problem for me is that LP is like the crack cocaine of the porn business. I first 'joined' LP maybe five years ago and it is easily still the biggest part of my monthly porn budget. Like you, the hard part becomes budgeting your monthly tickets to get the scenes you want. I'd say at least six months of the year I end up buying additional tickets just to get the scenes I want. I'm not complaining though - that would be me complaining that LP makes too much porn that I want to see!
