I'm really convinced that they use this as a way to encourage you to buy better quality stuff from VOD sites. That way they con you out of money to join this site and then pay for a better version later. Most studio sites don't do the internet well but JM Productions is far worse than most of the others. They don't even pretend to try.
I like your thought that this is an early 1990s site with some updates. That is a perfect description. And perfectly accurate!

Thanks for the reply, Monahan. I agree with what you said about Hustler. They've since dropped the DRM (on most files, if my memory is correct) but they still do a poor job given all the material and resources that they have.

If you dig around you'll find more like this. I reported the two I mentioned and got an email that they were fixed. They obviously aren't. It surprises me that all of their members aren't complaining about the broken links so much that they actually get fixed. With a couple of the dead links I was able to access the site by going to IAFD and looking up the title and then searching those specific stars on the JJ site. That didn't fix the whole problem since some scenes aren't associated with DVDs on the site.

What is your experience like with broken links on the site? I've been a member at Jules Jordan multiple times and that is something I notice a lot more of than on comparable sites.
To use two examples, two of the most recent updates, Manuel Ferrara's Ripe 4 and Double Black Penetration 4 are dead links. In fact, I can't even see the DVD cover for Ripe 4. For both, clicking on the link merely cycles me back to the main DVD page. Is your experience different?
I emailed the site last weekend and they said it was fixed but I see no change.
I wouldn't ordinarily be so picky but I've noticed this every time I have a membership there.
Do you have a similar experience?
(I should add that I've tried the usual things on my end, including using a different browser, but nothing works. I still get the broken links.)

Agreed. Another annoying choice is how he splits material between Jules Jordan and The Ass Factory and expects $30 for each of those memberships.

I just rejoined this site and it appears that the issue is that the links time out very quickly. I didn't have any problem with downloads failing but I couldn't queue up scenes in my download manager like I used to be able to here and still do with most sites. It means more work to get the scenes you want and it is annoying but it's still some great porn for those of us who like hardcore with a harder edge.

What bugs me most is when these tactics are used by porn companies that offer great porn. Why fuck over your customers and risk having them not come back? When you have a great product and people willing to pay for it why not NOT fuck them over? Like you, I'm not asking for special treatment, just fair treatment.

I hope this a temporary problem. I've been a member here several times (and at a sister site, The Ass Factory) and I never experienced any problems at all. My plan has always been to rejoin again so if you find this gets resolved please post an update.

Amen to that. But I'd add to this that the fact that Jules Jordan's DVDs are divided between two $30 sites is also part of the scam. But then this isn't the only site that uses this tactic. They have the basics covered well: they shoot excellent porn, they make it available in a variety of resolutions up to and including true HD, they have great download speeds, they update regularly and the price is fair. So why, why, why do they feel the need to do this to customers???

I agree 100% with what you wrote. Like you, I'm an active and paying porn buyer and it really bugs me when I get fleeced. Guys like us should be seen as valuable customers and not mere marks in a scam. Dammit, I WANT to give these companies my money so they can continue to make more porn.

I'm a big JJ fan too but one thing about the site that bugs me is how, like so many other studio sites, they don't seem to take the internet as seriously as they should. I think that in most cases the missing scenes from the DVDs aren't actually missing, but they're posted on JJ's other site, The Ass Factory, where you'll have to pay another $30 to join that. The good news is that once you've joined the first time and get on their mailing list then send offers out a couple of times a year with a decent price cut - so watch your email.

I had it ready to go but "theviv" posted a review just before I was ready to post and I don't want to knock him off the top spot so soon so I'll wait a few hours. My review will explain why I think that the main JJ site is the better choice.

My recoomendation is that if you want to join a Jules Jordan site then join this one and not The Ass Factory. The AF is just too small to be a decent value.

I don't mind the newer stuff, but I agree that his older work is better. Trained Teens 1 remains one of my all-time favourite movies. It was the first time I had seen Stacy Carpenter and that scene was so well done. If that was the only great scene on the DVD that would have been enough, but the scene with Gauge and Aurora Snow is also incredible. And the remaining scenes only look merely good when compared to those two even though if they were on another DVD title they'd be stand-outs there.
If it would be useful for you I could either email you a list of series and editions or even post a list as a comment.

This was one of my favourite sites when it was updating. With so many male porn stars now getting into their 40s and even older I'd be easy to start this site again. Guys like Steven St. Croix, Steve Holmes, Dick Chibbles, Tommy Gunn and others paired with some fresh talent and this site could be a success again.

Thanks for reviewing this site. Back when it was active it was one of my favourite sites because it had a niche I love - old guy, young girl - with American models. I've been dropping in to the tour page but the way it's set up it's hard to tell if there are any new scenes since the last time I was there. Thanks to you I now know that there aren't. you saved me some possible frustration.

Great review. I prefer reviews with lots of detail and you certainly provided that. The iGB download limit per day seems awfully low. The site I'm a member at right now has videos twice that size. I can understand limits, but that's just too low!

It isn't often that those of us who join straight sites would get an opportunity to review a gay site. I think it is a great idea that you did this since we only have a few gay/bi members here so adding gay site reviews is a good thing.
On a semi-related note, I've been a regular Kink subscriber off and on pretty much since they started. They have some of the best BDSM-themed porn available on the internet. I'm really happy that they turned their membership into a 'network' rather than subscribing to single sites. But my take (and I've read similar opinions here and elsewhere) is that Kink has lost some of its edge and may be slipping from its place at the top of the heap. What are your thoughts on that?
This will fall into the category of TMI but I've never, ever had the courage to open any of the gay Kink sites even now that there is full network access. I'd have no trouble at all reviewing a 'mainstream' gay site but as someone afflicted with really, really sensitive testicles there is no way I could watch any scene with cock and ball torture without passing out! :-)
