Great review - and welcome to PU.
Does FTV Girls still have their videos in segments rather than a full-length video? And if they do, so they start each segment with a 10 second title screen? Those were the two things that bugged me about them.

My guess is that it is an attempt to limit piracy since the site is so good at everything else. But it is really, really annoying for those of us who pay for our porn.

That all makes sense. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I suspect that a big part of the reason why we think differently about this site is that you prefer pictures and I prefer video. And I should point out that I usually only download the public/outdoor segments of the videos, so I guess that's me saying that the rest is a little uninspiring too.
Your explanation of the photo shoots being technically good but artistically lacking makes perfect sense to me. Whether or not a reader agrees with that assessment, it is still a valid opinion.
But, as you say, we agree on one thing: the models are stunning. Maybe my problem is I tend to be too subjective when reviewing the site and let that get in the way of some objectivity. Hmmmm... that's something for me to think about. We're all going to have a different subjective reaction to a site, but reviews are probably better staying objective.

I haven't been a member at FTV Girls for over a year, but I definitely intend to go back soon. I agree with some of your comments that the navigation and overall feel of the site are a bit dated, and I wish it could be improved. But... the site itself is relatively simple so the limited navigation isn't as bad as it would be on a DVD site, for example. I'm more a video guy but I do download some pictures. I don't remember being disappointed in the quality of the videos or the pictures, and I see in my first review of the site that I noted the download speeds were okay. Maybe there was something slowing the speeds down for a while.
For me though, I'm a big fan of this site because of the models. The small FTV team seems to have a great eye (admittedly their taste is the same as mine) and they shoot them well too. I have almost zero interest in glamour, solo and masturbation sites, but sites like FTV Girls and ALS Scan do that so well with stunningly beautiful women that they are among my all-time favourite sites on the internet.
Two of the great things about this board are that there is a diversity of opinion, and that diversity is respected. I'll admit that I haven't been a member at FTV Girls for over a year, and I respect your opinion, but I suspect that both objectively and subjectively it deserves better than a 65 score. Please don't take offence to that, it isn't meant that way.
Not to add insult to injury, but consider giving more detail in your reviews. For both video and pictures it would be helpful to know resolutions and file sizes. That would give your readers a better understanding of what you mean.
Finally, welcome to the board. Please don't take anything I've written as a criticism because it isn't meant that way. I hope you stay around and contribute lots more. I think you'll find the board a great resource and the forum is a great place to swap information too.

This is definitely something worth checking out. I'm not normally a big fan of softcore, solo sites, but FTV Girls is an excellent site. Given the stunning beauty of the models and high quality of the site I'll certainly be checking this out.

Thanks for clarifying that a key assumption that I made was wrong, namely that the public nudity on your site is ‘staged’ in that you have some arrangements with a resort. I made that assumption based on the large number of nude outdoor scenes made there, and that was an incorrect assumption. My apologies for making the incorrect assumption and I’ve edited my review to remove that.
I will say that now knowing that you don’t ‘cheat’ with the public stuff I’ve got a better appreciation of your site. I understand that given the current political and religious climate in the U.S. that any public nudity involves a lot of personal risk for the models and the staff. I agree with you that the EU sites have the ability to appear to push the envelope a lot more, but knowing that it isn’t really pushing the envelope due to the more liberal views of sexuality in the EU takes away a lot of the excitement found in viewing an American site. Now knowing that you don’t ‘stage’ or pre-arrange the public stuff raises it to a whole different level.
While I understand your dismay in having just one facet of your site reviewed, I tried to make it very clear that my review was only for someone looking at it from that perspective. I really liked your site – the models are stunning and you present them in ways that really show them off well. I give you full credit for that. My intention though, was to get the message out to others who may be like me: having no real interest in solo girl sites, but liking public nudity. I think that anyone who reads my review and wants public nudity will be more apt to consider a membership knowing that there is both quantity and quality.
Thanks for taking the time to correct my review. Having this kind of interaction between customers and webmasters is one of the key reasons that this site is so popular.

The porn niche of MILF is odd. First, there seems to be a stock definition of someone who has large breasts, real or fake. I like that FTV has a broader definition. Frankly, I'm not really a fan of the whole MILF designation. Who cares? If a beautiful woman wants to do porn I don't care what her age is. I tend to lean to younger models primarily because many of those have the smaller breasts / petite body that I like. But there are so-called MILFs that I still love too. Remember Tara Ashley? She had a short career and started in her early 30s. She even was cast in some teen-themed stuff. Models like Dani Jensen and Marie McCray will always cause me to hit the download button, regardless of their age.
Besides, just because a model is 20 doesn't mean she has to be petite. Gabbie Carter is a big deal these days and while I see the star quality in her, her body type isn't what I usually watch.
Porn classifications are strange and we can't change them.
FTVX has been teased for so long that it's probably just a unicorn now. There are a few hardcore scenes at FTV Girls. Those started as teasers for the new site which was promised to be coming soon. That was maybe five years ago. The really strange thing is that the guy who owns the site could make a ton of money by going ahead with it. But then again, he's probably in the 1% just on FTV Girls alone.
One thing I do miss is the more risque public shoots at FTV Girls. They still exist but are more guarded now. The site owner wound up in legal trouble for one particular scene. Unfortunately that scene is no longer available.
I might regret writing this and drawing the ire of some, but it's odd that it's completely illegal for a couple of models to flash their breasts discretely in a store but it's legal for someone to walk in with a loaded handgun.
I recall Sally Struthers once lamenting that if a movie depicted a man cutting off a woman's nipple it got a PG rating. If it depicted a man kissing a woman's nipple it got an R Rating.
I'd better quit while I'm ahead!

Excellent review! Coincidentally, I was starting to write a review of this site as well but that doesn't make sense since you've covered everything and your comments are very close to what I was writing.
I agree that the whole "MILF" thing here is stretched a bit. My preference is for younger models so while I have been a FTV Girls fan and regular subscriber for a long time this was my first time joining FTV MILFS. What drew me in was that many of these supposed MILFs are in their 20s and very beautiful. I'm glad I joined.
Like you, the fact that the videos are broken down into clips has caused me problems too. I'd guess that the first few times I joined and rejoined FTV Girls it took me a while to discover/remember that these were in clips. It is confusing though I suspect the FTV sites have a lot of recurring subscribers so this isn't an issue for them.
There has been a third FTV site that's been teased over the past several years. It's called FTVX. Apparently Rob, the site owner, has some hardcore scenes with some of the models and he had been teasing a full site for these but nothing has ever come of it. That seems odd to me as it could be very lucrative for him.

I'd never heard of this site until you mentioned it but that isn't too surprising since I'm not really into MILFs. Part of me wishes the site didn't exist so the owners could put more time and effort into getting FTV X off the ground. Combining the beautiful women of FTV with hardcore sex is a recipe for a great site.

Great review. I'm a big fan of this site too, and many others on the Kink network. Like you, I always cringe when I see their membership fees, but then I remember that this is innovative and very well done. Their overhead costs are also likely quite a bit higher than a studio that uses a couch in a living room. For me, I think while the actual cost is higher than normal, it still provides excellent value for the money spent.
Also, make sure to sign up for their email newsletter because they frequently give site discounts to subscribers. Also, the last time I was there when you had a membership at one site you got a discount on others so that helps too.

It's nice to see that they're up to their old tricks. I was a member there a long time ago and they were recycling then too. It's too bad because JM Productions had some of the best porn on the market. i really wish someone would restart the American Bukkake and American Gokkun series' again.

I sure hope someone answers and confirms that they have been upgrading the video. I was a member a couple of years ago and a lot of the quality was crap. I'd take a new membership pretty quick if someone could answer your question in the affirmative.

I'm a big fan of Hotmovies.com too. I have several VOD sites that I use regularly (Adult DVD Empire, Hotmovies.com, Download2Own, Sugar VOD, Gamelink and AEBN Theatre). Each of them has some benefits and some downsides too. I was planning to do a review of each of the ones that are listed here at PU to let possible users make an informed choice but I'm not sure that I can make the reviews different enough to warrant that many reviews. Some VOD sites are definitely better than others, but when there is a rare title that I want to see it usually comes down to finding which site has it. If multiple sites have it then it comes down to quality and price. I'm amazed that the price difference can be as much as it is sometimes. My experience is that Sugar VOD usually has the best price.
I wish I shared your enthusiasm for streaming. For me the collecting and keeping is important, especially when I'm finding older titles that I haven't seen for years. I'd like to be able to keep them DRM-free if they were available that way somewhere. The only reason that I'm not completely frustrated with VOD sites is that a lot of what I remember from my 'golden age' of porn in the mid 80s to the mid 90s was absloute crap. Yesterday I found a title I had been trying to remember for a couple of years. It was called "Backdoor to Harley-wood 2." When I finally remembered the title and found it (on Hotmovies) I streamed it and it occured to me that the movie was terrible. It's sort of like thinking about the early to mid-1970s as part of the muscle car era when Corvettes and Trans Ams had less horsepower than most family sedans today.
