Ill do my best to be objective here, but its fair to say that my porn collecting long ago reached a point where Im more selective about what I collect and therefore avoid sites that are more like an all-you-can-eat buffet. I clearly didnt do any due diligence before joining this network (I joined through Broken Teens, which sounded like something I might like) because I was really disappointed to see that this is mostly a network of older, non-exclusive generic porn videos that can be found on many other sites.
To start with the good news, the network is large. It has 10 themed sites (more on that below) and over 3700 videos in the network. The models are a mix of American and Eastern European / Russian which is good for some variety. The network does update but not on what looks like a regular schedule. It appears that a new video is added to the network every three or four days. But sadly, thats about all the good I can write about this network.
The sites all have themes but those appear to be nothing more than mere names. For example, Broken Teens has the tag line of The Most Extreme Teen Porn Videos on the Internet. With a name and tag line like those I joined the site with some expectations but learned that the sites definition of both teen and extreme aren't anything like mine. Much of the material on this one site could just have easily gone into one of their girlfriend sites and some of it could even find a suitable home on their MILF site.
The network and sites aren't well laid out. For a site this large there needs to be a cohesive design so that the porn is easy to find and download and this network lacks that. I found the layout, tags and search functions didnt work well. To make matters worse, there are a lot of scenes here that dont even list the female talent so finding some scenes with models you like could come down to luck.
One reason that the site is so confusing is that it seems they put more emphasis on ads and upsells than they do on the porn that they have to offer.
The TBP review of the network said that some of the material is likely exclusive. I cant say for certain but I didnt see anything that I could easily identify as exclusive and the network certainly doesnt do anything to differentiate any exclusive scenes from the others.
The TBP review also said that there was some HD offered and that may be the case also but I didnt find any. To be fair, I didnt spend nearly as much time on this site as I normally would because the site layout is poor and the all the videos Ive downloaded were relatively low quality. Ill likely cancel my membership well before the end of the month and chalk this up as a bad experience.
The scenes that I did download to check out were available in either 360p or 720p. These came in at 640x360, 1300kb/s and 29fps and 1280x720, 2300kb/s and 29fps. Given that these specs aren't really up to 2017 standards it shouldnt be a surprise that the video quality isn't that good. Download speeds also varied a lot. One minute I could get 40MB/s and the next I might be lucky to get 2MB/s.
A minor annoyance, but one made worse on a site this size, is that moving between the pages can only be done two at a time. With 158 pages thats a lot of clicking.
The bottom line is that this site can offer a lot of value to some members, especially given that there is a TBP discount. The people who could get a lot of value out of this network are those who favour quantity over quality and I mean no disrespect by that. A network like this would be a great upgrade for someone who uses tube sites and wants to start collecting. But Im guessing that the value proposition is much different for most of us active PU members who are more serious collectors. For us, the value proposition is low and our porn dollars would be better spent elsewhere. |

Thanks for posting this. Like you, I've had my eye on Dare Dorm but never joined because it was streaming only. Knowing I can download the scenes makes it much more likely that I'll join.
The bad news is that it doesn't look like the $10 charge is still available. I'm seeing $30 now.

Great review. I was looking forward to joining this site a while back when I first read about it, but the lack of downloads killed that idea for me. I know that webmasters want to combat piracy but it bugs me that they have to do it at the expense of paying customers.

This is truly an EXCELLENT review! A lot of members here put in a minimal effort. Back when I joined the reviews were fairly sparse but a few people put a lot of effort into their reviews and that made a lot more of us want to do a better job too. Your review is interesting and informative. It adds to the pool of information that we have as potential subscribers. I think one of the biggest advantages to PU/TBP is that we have a blend of 'professional' reviewers and then the 'amateurs.' The value in us amateurs writing reviews is that we likely spend a lot more time on a site and really get to dig in deep. For example, I've discovered download limits where TBP hadn't found any. That's no fault of theirs since they weren't downloading because they liked the porn and wanted to get everything in a short time.
I'm down to writing one review per month these days and when I write one I've done a deep dive on the site AND spent a lot of time watching the scenes to give a thorough review.
The bottom line - I hope to see a lot more reviews from you in the future!

I think the allure of IR is that it is perceived by some as still being taboo. I have no idea why that is, but it is. Consider all the threads on other forums about which starlets will and won't do IR. It's a major fascination these days for some. I can't fault Mason for wanting in on the craze. If Dark X's success helps fund more Tushy.com scenes then I'm a fan too! Bring on more first anals on Tushy!

You're probably right that the TBP discount influenced my decision a bit and that if I had to pay full price I might not have been so generous.
Your contrast of Dark X with Hard X and Tushy is correct too. I paid full price for Tushy because of the three sites that was (is) the one that offers something distinct and valuable. They offer a lot of first anals and I'm willing to pay to collect those.
But Hard and Dark are really much more mainstream and could really be rolled together. I do think that for whatever reason "IR" is popular so Mason wanted to take advantage of that.

I agree 100% that the material for this site could just as easily be uploaded to either Hard X or Erotica X depending on the scene. I gave the site the benefit of the doubt because times are tough in the porn business and if a producer/director can spin off a separate site to generate more earnings then I can live with that - as long as the quality is good, and it is very good on all of Mason's sites.

Dark X is the third independent site from the acclaimed director Mason. This site is in addition to her other excellent sites, Hard X and Erotica X. If youre familiar with either of those sites youll know that if Dark X follows in their footsteps it will be a great site.
I dont want to sound judgmental, but I dont really understand interracial porn as a stand-alone niche. For one thing, it seems that interracial in this context only means a black male with white female. In the real world couples from any race can pair up. But what I dont understand is why these interracial scenes couldnt simply have been added to the existing Hard X and Erotica X sites since those two sites do have interracial scenes. But, for some reason, interracial porn seems to be a big thing right now and I cant fault Mason for wanting to capitalize on that.
The porn itself is up to Masons usual high standards: the models are A-list and beautiful. The women are all white but there is some variation in age and body type. The scenes are all well produced with good lighting and editing to best show off the models. I wouldnt go so far as to say this is couples porn but it isn't misogynistic either. Credit that to having a woman as the director for giving these scenes a lot of heat and still appeal to a broad audience.
There are currently 29 scenes uploaded, but that needs a bit of an explanation. When the site began it added a new scene each day for a short while. That makes sense as it gives members a reason to join. The current update schedule is one scene per week but the overall number of scenes is augmented by the addition of some bonus interracial scenes from Hard X and Erotica X. These are actual bonus scenes in that they dont count as the weekly exclusive update. As of today there are 21 Dark X scenes, six Hard X scenes and two Erotica X scenes.
For those like me who like anal sex scenes, there are six exclusive anal scenes and an additional four from Hard X.
Like its sister sites, this one is laid out well and is easy to use. There are different ways to sort the scenes and you can choose a specific porn star or common niche. There is a search function but the site is still too small to really test that. I found that just being able to sort by star and niche was sufficient.
Each main page has six scenes with each having a large photo and information on the scene including the model, the scene name and the upload date. Each of those opens into a new page where youll have a description of the scene and options to stream or download it. For both streaming and downloading there are a lot of options. Both offer seven different resolutions: 160p, 240p, 360p, 480p, 540p, 720p and 1080p. The downloads are only available as MP4s. I wish other sites would offer this many options. I downloaded the 720p files as those are a good compromise between file size and video quality. The bitrates are just shy of 5000kb/s (though a few were as low as 3500) so they look good on a 24 monitor.
There are some photos available but it is fair to say that these are secondary to the videos. The photos are good quality but there aren't many per set and those appear to be screencaps. I didnt see a way to download them as a zip.
The site allows download managers and I found the download speeds to be at least as good as other comparable sites.
Some may not see the value in joining such a small (but growing) site even with the TBP discount but that would be missing out on some excellent quality porn. The scenes are all well produced, shot and edited and all of them feature the best stars in the porn industry today. This is definitely a site that Ill rejoin. |

I don't dispute that the Team Skeet offer is probably a good deal, but that outlay of cash and being locked in for a full year is a problem for me. If they offered this as a monthly option or even as a 90 day option I'd likely consider it.
On a related note, TS has a new site called "Not my Grandpa." When I first saw it I checked it out and it was only offered as part of the annual deal but they have since started allowing monthly memberships to that site alone.

The bad news is that this isn’t part of the basic package but it’s a stand-alone site. It goes on sale for $15 regularly so keep your eye out for that.
The good news, for now at least, is that it is offered as a premium stand-alone site and not part of the new Team Skeet Unlimited package. Your second question is a bit more complex. I'm glad to hear that you liked the site. It seems that you and I share some interests in porn. I hope that with two positive reviews others may be inclined to join regardless of the useless tour page. I have no idea why a site wouldn't offer a much deeper dive into the site for prospective members. A useless tour page is often a red flag for me that the site is hiding something - but in this case the site and the scenes are great so why not sell it harder?
As you read in my review, our likes and dislikes are very similar too. I know most people wouldn't want this to turn into an anal site but the occasional anal scene would be great to see.
