Thanks for this update. This site interested me and you've saved me some money and frustration. A couple of years ago I had memberships to both Little April and Little Summer. These are both attractive young women but the video quality was horrendous. It sounds like nothing has improved in the past couple of years. If you were able to download the entire content so quickly that tells me there is nothing new here, and the quality is still poor.

I've never really understood the distinction between ALS Scan and ALS Angels. I recall once getting a free membership to Angels when I bought a membership to Scan and I think that's the only time I've been a member at Angels. I recall at the time that there was some description that led me to think that the models on Angels weren't 'good enough' to be on Scan, which seems pretty demeaning. Your explanation makes more sense - that it's curvier models.
But it does seem like a money grab by the site owners. There's nothing about ALS Scan that would excluded curvier models. It seems to me that going by the site name alone the only prerequisites are that the models be women and be shaved.

I occasionally have to set the record straight when people say that I don't like breasts. I point out that I most definitely love breasts - I just prefer A and B cups. But, admittedly, on a scale of importance to me, breasts rank much lower than a nice bum.

LOL! I think you discovered why our recollections of Scan and Angels is different. You thought the models at Angels were better looking and that's the opposite from what I thought - but you note that the Scan models were "really skinny, young, small breasted..." Yup... that explains why I preferred that site!

Many years ago when I first joined ALS Scan I was a bit uncomfortable with how they classed the models between ALS Scan and ALS Angels, with ALS Angels models 'unworthy' of the main site. maybe I'm the only member who noticed that though.
What I really miss is their Caribbean trips. I still watch those occasionally as they're a lot of fun to see. I suspect that with the porn market these days those kinds of shoots are far to expensive. They also had some European public nudity stuff that was great too. I wish they'd have more of those too!

You've written an interesting review of an interesting site. I've been a member here a few times myself and I share most of your opinions on the site. I haven't joined in a while mostly because the speculum use and vaginal fisting really aren't my thing.
I didn't know that they were affiliated with Met-Art these days. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think I can explain it, but ALS Scan is a site I went cold on five or six years ago. Actually, I know I can explain why. I'm not a fan of solo stuff even though a vast majority of the models here are exactly what I prefer. Your description of the scenes as being hard softcore is accurate. I don't like any porn that strays too far into being gynecological and some of these do.
For me, the biggest reason why I went cold on the site was because I really liked when they did Caribbean shoots and especially liked when they did some risky public shoots. I don't think they've done any of those in going on 10 years now. But I can understand why they've stopped the Caribbean shoots - they were probably prohibitively expensive even though they'd get dozens or more updates from one trip.
I think the last time I was a member there was 2015 so maybe it's time that I check them out again.

You wrote a very thorough and balanced review.
I was one of the PU members who scored ALS much higher, but I did that in 2012 and in 2012 I thought it deserved the 97 I gave it. I was most recently a member there in 2015 and while I will certainly join again I think I'd probably score it closer to where you did.
I like their playful nature but I'm not a big fan of the near-gynecological obsession with insertions. They certainly continue to hire models with the look and body-type that I prefer.
What I miss most about the first couple of times that I joined was that they stopped doing their annual Caribbean trip (likely too costly) and stopped with their European public nudity (maybe too risky?).
Thanks for posting your balanced review. I'm sure many readers will find it helpful.

This is one of my favorite sites too. My favorite videos are the Nude-in-Public stuff and the scenes shot in the Caribbean. When I was last a member here (about a year ago) there were very few new NIP videos and no new Caribbean shoots. Have there been any of these added recently that you can see?

Ordinarily I'd challenge someone who gave a score of 100 but I won't do that here for two reasons: 1) I know how great a site it is since I scored it at 97, and 2) you gave more than enough reasons to justify the perfect score. I agree with you that ALS Scan does EVERYTHING well. The porn is incredible, the site is logical, the downloads are easy and fast, the resolutions are better than usual in the industry and they provide all of this for a low price. I'm a big fan of their location shoots in the Caribbean. Those are hot and playful at the same time.
Have they ever shot more European public nudity stuff? The last time I was a member there were no new scenes like that. I'd love to see more of that since high quality public nudity is hard to find and this was some of the best I've ever seen.
Did you watch any of the b/g hardcore videos? If so, how are they? Are they artcore/glamcore or harder? Are there many b/g hardcore videos?
Finally, your account of the level of customer service that you got is inspiring. In a business where getting any response is unusual to get this level of service is amazing.
I really need to join this site again soon...

The good thing is that you'll likely find re-mastered versions of what you downloaded back then. The site posts new material regularly but also re-masters older stuff. I was first a member maybe three or four years ago but I still like seeing models from the 90s.

Thanks for your comments. As far as I can tell, the site continues to release shoots and scenes over a long period of time. I can't be 100% certain since they don't give the date of the shoot. It's also possible that because they have a roster of regular models that it may just appear that they're releasing stuff over an extended period.

Thanks for the comments, elephant. As a regular subscriber to the site I get email offers from them fairly regularly. They usually don't lower the price but they pair the membership with another site. The offer I joined under this time gave me a Nubile membership too. I'm not sure if you can get added to their mailing list, but if you can that might be a good way to get better value.

ALS Scan is a site that I shouldn’t like because I generally have little interest in solo girl, masturbation scenes and girl-girl scenes. But even though that’s all that ALS Scan offers, the site is certainly in my top-five favourite sites and a site that I go back to regularly.
I won’t go into a lot of detail about the technical specs of the site because those have been addressed before by me and others in earlier reviews. The site continues to offer HD video in both MP4 and WMV. I didn’t bother to comment on that in a previous review because I didn’t realize how rare that is. Due to size restrictions, many sites only offer HD in MP4 format and leave those of us who still prefer WMV to live with a lower-resolution file or go with MP4. This would appear to show the level of customer support that the site has if they take this extra step to keep a few of us happy.
I’ve said before that for me to really like a site it has to excel at three things: 1) the content has to be good, 2) the site design needs to be effective and user-friendly, and 3) the material needs to be easily accessed by the members either by streaming or download. A lot of sites score high on two of those, but few score high on all three of those. ALS is one of the sites that does well on all three. They certainly knock two of them out of the park and do better than average on another.
First the content: like any site, if you don’t like the content you’re not going to like the site regardless of how great the technical aspects are. In this respect prospective members really need to know that ALS Scan isn’t a ‘normal’ porn site. There is no hardcore b/g here at all. There’s no b/g stuff period. There is mostly solo and g/g material. If you’re not into that, the site might seem a bit dull, but they add some unique character by having lots of behind-the-scenes stuff too. I call it BTS, but only because I can’t think of a better term for it. Some people don’t like this, but some like me do, and that’s having the camera rolling during a photo shoot. I’m not sure why I like it, but I do and this stuff is very well done. ALS Scan may be best known, however, for their location shoots in the Caribbean, which seem to occur annually. These are a lot of fun to watch and take place at a villa and on the beach. For a site that shoots so much outdoor material the production values are incredible. These guys have the technical aspects of lighting, sound, camerawork and editing down solid. They should teach others these skills. The site offers hundreds, perhaps thousands of exclusive videos and all of them have a unique and personal feel to them. It’s like the staff are making porn that they like with no concerns about commercial value – except that what they make is so good it has exceptional value.
In terms of content, one thing that hasn’t been posted in several years and I really wish they’d shoot more of is European public nudity and body painting. I’m a big fan of this stuff and when the staff at ALS Scan did it they applied their usual high standards and made some of the best public nudity scenes available on the ‘net. (So if an ALS Scan staffer happens to read this, please, please, please shoot more public nudity!)
As for site design, it can be best described as ‘primitive.’ But while that might be a problem for many other sites it really isn’t here. Given the narrow focus of the site having a search function really wouldn’t add a lot of value. As it is, you can sort for photos or videos and you can sort by model. Beyond that not much is really needed. I think a fair contrast with the site design here might be to Videobox which had a simple, effective and plain-looking site. Then the marketers decided to make it look pretty to attract new members but in doing so they made it less user-friendly. The ALS Scan site probably looks like it did way back when they started, and since it works I hope they don’t see the need to make the site flashier at the expense of utility.
As for accessibility the site scores high here too. Downloads are fast, the site allows download managers, there appears to be no timeouts on downloads and there are no download limits. It seems that the site owners sat down and thought what they’d like if they were the customer and then did it.
Another rare attribute is that the site caters to both photo and video collectors. They offer high quality regardless of what you’re looking for. I’m not normally a photo collector, but this is one site that I make an exception. The photo quality is incredible.
Obviously I highly recommend ALS Scan, with the caveat on content. Even if you really have limited interest in the stuff they offer I’d still recommend giving them a try. The content is playful, personal and erotic thanks to the models and staff and the site lets you access it easily. That makes the site an excellent value. |

Excellent review. Thanks for adding it. I agree with much of what you wrote, but subjectively this is still one of my favourite sites on the 'net. I definitely agree that the Carribean scenes are the best they have. They used to do some European public nudity shoots/videos too but I haven't seen any of those in a while. I wish they'd do more of those.

I know it's a personal thing, but I've always liked the interaction between the model and the crew where it's appropriate. Obviously in a plot-based movie (do they still make those?) it wouldn't work, but it works really well at ALS Scan.
File sizes may be a problem for you, but the trade-off is unbelievable quality - for both pics and video. This really is impressive stuff.
I agree that there will always be a subjective element in a score, but as long as a reviewer explains the score then I'm okay with something very low or very high. And honestly, while there is a subjective element in my high score, there is a lot of objectivity too. This could be a site with obese, hairy senior women and I may not like it much, but I'd still have to give credit for the technical near-perfection.
And jusr in case anyone from ALS Scan reads this, please don't start using obese, hairy senior women as models. I was just using that as an example. :-)

Thanks for the comments, and thanks for the information on the difference between the two sites. I figured that it had to be something like that. The models at Angels are certainly 'curvier' but they are still amazingly beautiful. I hope that Alex is representing them as inferior to the models at Scan becasue they aren't.
When I joined a year ago during the signup process I was offered Angels for $9.95. Same thing happened this time. It's possible but not probably that I just got lucky both times and signed up when there was a special offer. I susepct that it's a standard offer now. And if it is, you get your wish of both sites for just under $40.
