Thanks messmer! As I said to elephant, while I can understand that some people would have no interest in the photo shoot videos, they work for me. I can't really say why, but they do. I downloaded more of those than masturbation scenes.
And thanks for supporting the high score. Based on the scoring criteria here, I think it is justified and I hope that anyone reading the review will see why I scored it so high. They may not agree, but as long as they see where I'm coming from.

Thanks tangub. I'm not a big fan of the fisting and peeing either. That's a bit strange for me to say that because in other contexts I do have a bit of an interest in those. I think that here it seems a little out of place in that the site is more about glamout than raw sex. But these things on ALS Scan don't get in the way of the scenes and they certainly don't detract from the site.

Thanks for the comments, elephant. I can't explain why, but I'm one of the people who really like the photo shoot videos. I can see why some people wouldn't like them because they aren't as overtly sexual as a video, and I can see that some people wouldn't like the director talking through it the whole time, but for some reason I really like all aspects of these scenes. I like the 'fly-on-the-wall" thing and being able to see the interaction between the model and the camera.
If you go back (and I'd highly recommend that you do) plan to stay a while. The HD video files are huge and look amazing.

The last time I joined ALS Scan I joined specifically for the public nudity scenes. I did that because I really had no interest in anything else they had to offer. I did download some stuff other than the public nudity and when I finally got around to watching it I was amazed at how stunning the models were, how hot the scenes were, and how the site seemed to go out of its way to offer industry-leading resolutions on both video and pictures.
Objectively, the site is as good as it gets. It’s near perfect. It’s obvious that the site owner wants to deliver an excellent product to his customers.
The site offers both video and pictures, and unlike many other sites one doesn’t take a back seat to the other. Both are very well done. The site currently has over 1000 videos on the site, with more being added. One point about the updates is that they are new, as in recently shot, and they are old, in that the site offers older, re-mastered material.
The videos are all available in multiple formats. The formats and sizes vary depending on when the video was shot and uploaded, but it’s fair to say that if you’re downloading a video from 2007 it would have exceeded the specs of almost anything available elsewhere. For the past year or so all videos have been available in true HD. They’re available in DivX and mp4 format (1280x720) and in WMV9 at 1920x1080 (at 8000kbps). I only downloaded the WMV files, and they are amazingly crisp. This is some of the best video I’ve ever seen. HD streaming is also available. HD became pretty common in mid-2007 though not universal until later.
The videos come in several categories: solo photo shoot, solo masturbation and girl/girl. There are several public nudity shoots, but they haven’t added to these in a couple of years. Each year for the past several the crew has taken models to an on-location shoot in the Caribbean. The locations and the models combine with the technical expertise of the crew to create some fun, hot videos. There are also casting shoots in Budapest and the Czech Republic. These aren’t necessarily ‘hot’ but they are a lot of fun to watch. Mixed in to some of the scenes are some fisting (girl-on-girl and solo) and some peeing (but no golden showers).
I’m not a picture guy, but I’ll make an exception for this site. The pics are available as SD or HD and as singles or zipped. The HD size is large (I saw some at 2592x3888) and subjectively they are incredible! Zooming in causes no pixilation at all.
I used Free Download Manager and it worked perfectly. Download speeds were 1850+/- but that may be where my settings are since I don’t know how to change them. File sizes can be huge, so people with download caps need to be wary.
One thing I thought was a nice touch was that they created a separate portal for people who download to mobile devices. That makes finding the material easy.
Subjectively, this site is second to none. The models are stunning. There is a good mix of North American and European models. A-list porn stars are here too. The scenes all look incredible. The lighting, camera work, sound and editing are all near-perfect.
This isn’t cookie-cutter porn – although there are a few broad categories of scenes, the director and models do an excellent job of making each scene feel fresh. It looks like they’re having fun on the site. My guess is that they are.
Is there anything wrong with the site? Not really, but it could benefit from a search function. There is nothing now, and arguably that’s okay since the shoots can be sorted by model. By they should consider adding a search function for things like fisting, peeing and lesbian. But don’t get me wrong – the addition of a search function would only be like an extra layer of icing on a delicious cake. (And since they design and sell their own bikinis, maybe a search by style would be great too.)
Some caveats for anyone thinking of joining – these aren’t negatives, just things you need to be aware of: 1) there are no b/g scenes, 2) 99% of the models are petite, Caucasian and young.
To add more icing to the cake, when you join this site you can get a $9.95 subscription to ALS Angels. It’s a very similar site and I’m not really sure of the difference but it is a nice addition. If I find major differences I’ll post a comment or review if warranted.
The bottom line is that if you like this kind of material and these types of models, you likely won’t find a better site on the ‘net. Be prepared to spend some time here. |

Because of this chat we've been having, I watched a bunch of ALS stuff again just to remember how good it is. And it is good. One scene I remember getting a laugh out of starred Lexi Belle and another girl I can't remember. It was a photo shoot where the director gives them instructions (I like that) and at one point Lexi was on all fours and the other girl was using a dildo on her. The director said to the chick holding the dildo "Kiss her ass" and the chick gives him this hilarious look as if to say "No freaking way!" Then the director clarifies by saying "Just kiss her ass cheek." The reason I found that so funny is because I know what my reaction to that command would be! The next direction would be the director telling me to get my face of Lexi's ass because no one will want to see a bunch of pictures of the back of my head.
So the moral of the story is this: if you're a photographer and you want me to kiss Lexi Belle's ass, don't worry about having to ask twice. The problem may be in getting me out of there...

I'm with you on the shower/bath thing. When I joined ALS I did it mostly for the public stuff. There was enough of it there that I was completely satisfied even though I didn't download a lot of material.

I agree with you that this site offers some variety other than indoor photo shoots, but people should be aware that this site offers some pretty unique public stuff too. I haven't been a member at ALS Scan for a while, but the last time I was there they had maybe 10 shoots of girls in Europe where they painted 'clothes' on them and sent them out into the streets. These are some of my favorite scenes of all time.
I might be in a minority here, but I like the scenes where you can here the director giving orders.
Yours was a great review of a great site. Thanks for adding it.

You’ve reviewed more sites than I have so you’ll also know that there can be no better compliment than for someone to say they’ll take or avoid a membership based on your review. As I said above, I’m not a fan of this kind of site either but ALS Scan has all petite women which I like, and the scenes are not repetitive as with other sites. The Caribbean stuff and the public nudity is icing on the cake. It really is an excellent site.
When I joined a few weeks ago there was a special offer of $9.95 USD to join ALS Angels. While this site has a lot of similarities with ALS Scan it also has some differences. I’m thinking that since it is a stand-alone site I may do a review of it even though it is the same company – but it isn’t part of a network. If the special offer is still available I’d recommend it. It is excellent value at $9.95.

Thanks for the tip. I may have to take a membership in June or July to see that. While I really like nude beach stuff (and ALS does this very well) I don’t have the same interest in nudity on a public beach as I do with true “public” nudity. Still, after I downloaded all the true public nudity on ALS I started on all the Caribbean stuff.
As for “financing” the trips, I have no problem paying membership fees for sites of this quality. ALS Scan has the value-for-money equation figured out and I’m happy to pay for the quality and volume. It’s also one reason why I never share porn with friends – I just tell them what sites to get a membership at so they can contribute too.

The reason I joined ALS Scan was because the previews showed that there was some public nudity available, and as a big fan of that I joined for that reason alone.
While I’m not a big fan of solo softcore sites, I have to admit to being really impressed with ALS Scan. This is an excellent site that offers some stunning women in both videos and pictures. All of the women are pretty much of the same body type – petite and small breasted. For a guy who thinks small-breasted petite women are the best, this makes the site even better. There is a decent mix of Eastern European models and American women. Some porn stars make an appearance too, like Courtney Simpson and Faye Reagan. Most of the models are also fairly young (18-25) and, as the site’s name says, all of the ladies are shaved. So if you like petite, young, shaved models, you should consider a membership on the strength of that alone.
Many of the video/picture shoots take place on an indoor set, but there are a lot that are shot in the Caribbean. These are visually outstanding. Apart from solo girl action, there is some peeing, some toy and speculum use and some girl/girl stuff. All of it is well shot.
The videos are classed into two broad categories: masturbation and photo shoot. The photo shoot scenes are pretty interesting as they give a behind-the-scenes perspective on what goes on.
I joined because the site promised some public nudity. There is some of that, but not a lot. What is there is excellent though, and for a big fan of public stuff that alone was worth the price. All the public nudity is done in Europe with European models. For a site into solo girls, they really seem to understand public nudity. Unlike some other sites (Nude in LA) the public nudity isn’t matter-of-fact and sterile. It is really well done and the titillation and risk are well presented. They also do something that I’ve never seen before and hope to see more of – that is using body paint to paint a skimpy outfit on a nude model and then send her out to the streets. This is really innovative and a lot of fun to watch. I appreciate that the editors chose to film the painting too – this adds to the fun.
But ALS Scan also has the technical side right too. They offer several different choices of resolution with the HD being visually stunning. Other reviewers have covered more of the technical stuff below.
One drawback is that there is no search function. I had no way to easily find the public nudity even though each scene was categorized in that way. Likewise, there is no way to separate out the photo shoot scenes from that masturbation scenes. Some search function would be an improvement.
I may not be a big fan of solo girl sites, but I’m now a big fan of ALS Scan. The people behind ALS present some stunning models in well-shot scenes and make it available through an easy-to-use and modern website. Overall, an excellent value. |

I went ahead and took a membership (and added ALS Angels for $9.95) and I'm pretty impressed. You're right that public nudity isn't all that common but there is some. For what little is there I think it is still a decent value because the quality is so good. I think that part of my appreciation of the site is that it feature almost exclusively young, petite women. I'll let the rest of the PU gang in on more details once I've had some time to look around a bit more.

Based on your review of ALS Scan and a look at the little bit offered as a preview on the site I am thinking of taking a membership. I'm normally more into hardcore sites, though some of the solo and girl/girl sites I've had memberships to I quite liked. One thing I noted on the website is that they say there is some public nudity there. Apart from hardcore, public nudity is probably my second biggest interest. In your experience, is there much public nudity on the site or is it few and far between? I took a membership to FTV Girls a while back based on the possibility of some public nudity and I was really impressed. I know that FTV Girls isn't a public nudity site, but I think the webmaster could be missing out on a potential market for those of us who like that. It turned out to be an excellent site overall, and excellent for public stuff too. So is there any detail or advice on public nudity at ALS Scan you can offer? Would that apply to their sister site (ALS Angels) too?

I'm not challenging what you are describing, but I've joined Amateur Allure many times over the past few years and have never had a problem joining or cancelling. They did a complete site redesign recently and maybe they added this new code thing in. I rejoined a few weeks ago (after the site redesign) and I didn't experience anything different. Just now, based on your comments, I went on the site and downloaded 10 videos to see if I had the same problem as you. Normally all I do is go on and download the latest update every Friday. I had no problem with ten downloads back-to-back. They do have a download limit but it is fairly high and not something that should trigger after one video. Most times the site is pretty good at responding to emails. Would you let us all know how this turns out please?

Yes, it's still a mix of POV and cameraman. They made that switch quite a while ago so I don't even notice it now.
I find the POV pretty good though. But like you, I'd prefer if there was less or no POV.

I agree with you that while the site is great it could be better. My suggestions are to have more scenario-based scenes, even if they're simple. They've shot a few where the female plays a real estate agent or a hotel manager or even as simple as the Samantha Rone scene where she shows up in a bikini wanting to go to the beach. I like the formula they have but would like to see them drop in something different more often.
I'd like to see some BTS stuff. They have a BTS page but all it is are photos and descriptions.
I like the sex as it is but really like it when after the first cum shot the female gets undressed while the male stays dressed. I'm a big fan of that and even though they do it maybe half the time I'd like to see more of it.
I really agree that extended cum play would be great, as would more scenes with multiple men, even up to a bukkake (or, to be more correct, a gokkun).
AA has been my favorite adults site for a long time. I'll take what they give but it would be nice to see a few improvements.

Khan - I owe some apologies - to you and to Amateur Allure. I have several memberships on the go and when I sorted through this following your comment I realized that I attributed the cross-sell to the wrong site. The cross-sell came when joining Casting Couch X.
