I'm not glad to hear that you had problems, but it does give me some comfort to know that the site is the problem and I'm not. I really don't understand this practice. I agree that they may make a bit extra money by fleecing unsuspecting customers, but when a site offers good material (which Private does) and they are trustworthy, then I'll rejoin again and again and again. They make more money from me by being honest.
I think I'll be watching my credit card for a while. I wish I had taken a screenshot of the cancellation page...

I agree with pat. I've joined EA through TBP / PU several times and I'm also on their mailing list. There are times when I can have 10 or more emails from them with the same offer. While it can be a bit annoying, some of the offers are unbeatable (like the seven days for $5) so I just delete the duplicates.
You can probably get deleted from their mailing list but that would also end the offers. They (along with many other Fame Network sites) are constantly making decent offers.

I'm a current member and can sort of answer your question. I wish I could give you a straight answer but the problem is that something strange happened with my membership. When I joined I first accessed the site using the link provided when my membership was confirmed. I didn't save the link or even note what it was because I had no reason to think that I'd need to. That site did have magazines available and my plan was to go through them later. But the thing is that the next time I went to log onto the site using private.com it was a different site. The site looked different, the navigation looked different and there were no magazines. The videos were all the same though. I don't know if I just happened to join just as they were updating the site but I can say for certain that with the site you access through private.com there are no magazines.
As for photos, there's bad news there too. There are no photo sets that I can find. There are photos available but they are related to the videos (though they don't look like screenshots). They also open in the same viewer that the streaming videos use so there doesn't appear to be any way to download them as zips.
I wish I had better news for you...

Perfect Gonzo is a collection of ten sites grouped around the main page. While it may be considered a true network because each of the sites serves a clear and distinct niche, all of the scenes are available through the main page too so that means that the sites themselves can act as high-level niche tags to quickly sort in or out preferences or dislikes.
The sites available (with some basic details) are:
All Internal: 322 scenes, featuring vaginal and anal creampies
Ass Traffic: 314 scenes, featuring anal sex
Cum for Cover: 82 scenes, featuring blowbangs with facials
Fist Flush 68 scenes with fisting (for those with an interest, all of the scenes are g/g only, with some g/g/g and only about 10% of the scenes have any anal fisting)
Give me Pink: 259 scenes, featuring solo masturbation
MILF Thing: 59 scenes, with MILFs obviously
Prime Cups: 158 scenes for large-breast fans
Pure POV: 70 POV scenes
Sperm Swap: 189 cum-swapping scenes
Tamed Teens: 127 scenes with 18 and 19 year old models
Each scene is accessible through a medium-sized thumbnail showing the model’s face. That thumbnail opens into a separate page that has tabs for the full scene, screenshots, photos and a trailer. There is a short description of the scene, a hyperlink to other scenes by that model and a series of (hyperlinked) tags for niches in the scene. Members have an opportunity to leave comments and some of those may be useful in deciding if you want to see the scene.
Screenshots and photos are available as singles and zips.
For video, HD is offered on approximately 70% of the scenes. Where HD is offered there are four choices for downloads, all of which are in mp4 format: 1920x1080 (12Mbit), 1280x720 (5Mbit), 960x540 (2.5Mbit) and 480x270 (1Mbit). File sizes are given before you download so you can decide on which version you want with all the information you need. File sizes for the highest resolution can be a bit daunting, but I appreciate that the site makes them available. I downloaded the 1280x720 resolution and subjectively they look great. Where no HD is available, only the two lower res files are offered.
One important point is that the site only began putting the upload date on scenes in July 2013. That makes gathering a lot of stats difficult. What that does reveal is that several of the sites haven’t updated since the dates began being added. These include Cum for Cover, MILF Thing, Pure POV, Sperm Swap and Tamed Teens. What that also means is that when I say 70% of the scenes on the network are available in HD that doesn’t mean that 70% on the sites that are no longer updating are HD.
All of the scenes have high production values with the lighting, filming, editing, etc. all being top quality. All of the models are European with many being well known in the adult business.
The network is updated every three to four days with one scene being added to the network, not to each updating site.
The site supports the use of download managers and if the links time out they do so reasonably because I had no problems with that.
One thing prospective members should be aware of is that there’s a lot of anal sex here. For me, that’s no problem. In fact, it’s why I joined. Ass Traffic is all anal, but there are a lot of other anal scenes throughout the rest of the sites.
I realize that this next point is subjective, but I found the scenes to be a bit repetitive and sometimes a bit boring. I know this is gonzo, and I know that this means a particular style, but I found that many of the scenes lacked heat. My opinion is that heat is most often formed by sexual tension, and that tension is best built at the beginning of the scene. Most of the scenes here are shot with little interaction between the models before they get down to business. Gonzo can have great set-ups that build tension and heat; just ask John Stagliano. It may be that since many of the models have little English that lessens the ability to create sexual tension. And this is not to take away from the scenes because they are great. (And in fairness, I find directors like Mike Adriano and Jay Sin to be repetitive too, but I still buy and download anything I can that they produce.)
The bottom line for me is a bit of a mix. I can definitely recommend that anyone with an interest in the network join. The network has the three things that I think differentiate a great site from a merely good one: they have great porn (hot models and high production values), they have a well-laid-out website and the porn is easy to stream or download. The network offers over 1,600 scenes, many in HD, for a fair price. The volume of high quality porn for a reasonable price makes this a great value. The difference for me is that while I recommend that people join, I likely won’t be back myself, but the reasons for that are purely subjective and shouldn’t be taken into account unless your preferences are like mine. |

I use it as an indicator, like the other commenters have mentioned, but if the site has recent good reviews I might still pull out my wallet. Perhaps a bigger issue than a broken link or two on a tour page is having no tour at all. I don't think I've ever joined a site that won't let me see what's inside without joining first.

I've been a big fan of Private's stuff since I became aware of it 15+ years ago. I don't normally collect Euro porn but I've always made an exception for Private because of their high production values. (You'll notice that they somehow managed to get access to a cruise ship and shot several titles on board with no passengers. That's in stark contrast to so many other studios who won't even spring for a new couch!)
I was a bit reluctant to join because there were a lot of negative comments, but since those were quite old I took a chance and I'm glad I did.

This is one of the better studio sites where I’ve had a membership, but since I find most studio sites lacking in some key areas that isn’t necessarily praise. This is a good site that offers solid value though.
You’ll note that I refer to this as a site while others consider it a network. The TBP review notes that a membership to the main site comes with ten sites in total. That’s sort of true, because those other ‘sites’ exist, but it is also misleading. The additional sites contain nothing different from what is on the main site. The additional sites are more like niche tags. If you sort by DVD and then open a DVD you’ll see that some of the scenes in the DVD are tagged with the watermarks of those bonus sites. While this may be useful for sorting a niche you like, no one should join expecting access to both Private and bonus sites offering additional and unique content.
Currently the site has 660 DVDs available. Unlike so many other studio sites it appears that Private hasn’t neglected to upload some scenes in DVDs. For those who know Private’s videos they don’t need an introduction, but for those not familiar with them, Private is a European studio (likely the oldest in the industry) known for high quality productions. The studio uses only the best looking models (mostly European but a few American A-listers too), has incredibly high production values and often shoots in exotic (and expensive) locations. Like so much of European porn, anal sex is frequent which may deter some members. If the site has a weak point, it isn’t the quality of the porn.
The site’s main weak point, as seems to be common with studio sites, is in the website execution. The site itself is simple, which in many cases is an advantage, but in this case more detail and options should be made available. For example, when sorting by DVD (my preference) the only option is to sort by popularity or title. There is no option to sort by upload date or HD versus SD content.
I’ll confess that I’ve become a bit of a ‘size queen’ in recent months: life is too short for low res porn. The result is that unless there is a specific scene that I really want, I won’t download anything less than 720p. On this site, that meant leaving a lot of porn on the table. (I can’t really say how much HD is available because there is no way that I can find to sort for it, but I estimate that maybe 40% is available as HD.) Given that some of the DVDs available here were filmed prior to HD I can’t fault the studio for this and I assume that all newly shot and uploaded DVDs will be available in HD.
Where only SD is available there is usually only one option of 720x480, though some come in at 720x540. The only file type offered is mp4. Many scenes also offer a lower-res version for mobile devices.
The HD scenes still only offer mp4 but there are more options for resolutions. Those are 480p, 720p, 1080p and mobile. I downloaded the 1080p and those came in at 1920x1080 at 4,100kb/s and 25fps. Interestingly (for a non-tech guy) the file sizes are much smaller than I’m used to seeing for scenes of this resolution. I don’t understand how they’re encoded, but the site really has struck a great balance between how the scenes look (they look great – clear and crisp) and the file size. I certainly appreciate their effort.
Scenes are also available for streaming in the same resolutions offered for downloads.
The site allows download managers and I had no issue with timeouts. I realize that some have reported being limited to five downloads at once, but since I only use a manager to queue up downloads for one-at-a-time download I had no issues. I was also able to continue navigating when downloading contrary to what some others have reported. Download speeds were up to normal standards but I did see speeds drop off on a few occasions. I usually saw 10+MB/s but it could drop as low as 3MB/s for short periods.
A couple of minor issues popped up in that on more than one occasion I went to download a scene and my download manager said I already had downloaded it. It appears that some of the links may lead to the wrong scene. Another relatively minor quibble is that on maybe a dozen or so of the scenes I downloaded the female talent was incorrectly listed. As this is the studio that shot the video I’d like to think they could avoid this mistake.
The bottom line for me is that this is a solid site that offers a lot of top-quality porn for a fair price. While the site could use more tags and search tools, and should continue to add HD content, even as it stands it offers great value for your porn dollars. |
