Lately I’ve developed an interest in ‘casting’ videos and this is one of the better sites in that niche. A membership here includes a membership to two other sites: Exploited College Girls and Net Video Girls. ECG is a great site and makes a membership here better. NVG isn’t terrible, but, in my opinion, it is the weakest site of the three. I should point out that the TBP review doesn’t say anything about the additional sites but I’ve joined twice now and both times that was the deal. I just checked again and it is still being offered.
The site’s premise is that a guy passes himself off as a porn agent and has women come by to talk about getting into the business. The setting is an office and the scene is recorded using two cameras on tripods and a handheld POV camera. The ‘agent’ explains the business to the model and then she is encouraged to make a demo tape that the agent will then use to get work for her. The demo consists of the model getting naked, masturbating, performing oral on the agent and then getting fucked. Many of the scenes have some anal sex but it is usually short. Even if you aren’t as big a fan of anal as I am, the anal isn’t obtrusive. Some may criticize the site as being too formulaic. It is that, but in my opinion, the formula works so why fix what isn’t broken?
Most of the models are unknown to me, though there are a few who went on to porn careers. Tanner Mayes (as Evangeline), Kacey Jordan, Shawna Lenee (as Kara), Amia Miley and Chastity Lynn are here, early in their careers. While there is no way that the premise could be real (given the paperwork involved to do porn), the models play the role well and really add to the feel of the scene. There is some variety in models with different body types, though the majority are Caucasian and petite. Most of the models are very good looking. There are a few videos with pregnant models if you’re into that.
There have been negative comments about the male ‘agent.’ I don’t share those opinions because I find that he knows that members aren’t joining to see him so he is unobtrusive.
Using two stationary cameras and a POV camera could be the site’s weak point, but it isn’t. The camera work and editing are great and really work well for the atmosphere. One feature that I really like is the use of split screen or picture-in-picture. For example, the model may be bent over the desk in a standing doggy position and one half of the screen is a camera pointing at her face while the other half is the POV camera held above the model’s ass.
There are currently about 165 videos on the site with most being about 30 minutes long. The site does update regularly, but since my membership expired four days ago I can’t confirm the update schedule but my recollection is that it is at least one new scene per week.
The scenes are only available in one file type, WMV, but they are available as clips or as the full scene. There are usually two resolutions available (labelled as high and low). I only downloaded the highest resolution full scenes so I can’t comment on the lower resolution or clips.
Speaking of resolution, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that the site appears to have undergone a re-work and at the same time it looks like the last 12-15 uploads are available in 1280x720 at 3500kb/s and 29 fps. These look great. File sizes are between 500-800MB, though there are a few that hit a gigabyte. The bad news is that before the site started uploading HD the resolutions were lower. With a lot of the older scenes on the site that can be pretty low. Most are 768x432 (which still look good), some are 576x324, some are 640x360 and some 480x360. Obviously the smaller resolution files were uploaded a long time ago and don’t look good by today’s standards.
The site supports download managers and I had no issues with links timing out. I didn’t encounter any speed reductions or download limits. The site bills through CCBill.
The bottom line is that this is an excellent site if you like this niche. It’s packaged with another excellent site (and a mediocre one too). The models are good looking and the scenes are fun to watch. The production values are good with good camerawork and editing. While the site has started uploading HD videos that was only recently so most of the videos are of lower resolution. Not only do I highly recommend this site but it is on my list of sites to regularly rejoin to download new scenes. |

I've paid that before but that was for a fetish site that had all exclusive stuff so I didn't mind spending that amount. But the teen niche is well served so I can probably get better value elsewhere.

Since this is my first time joining the lack of updates won't be an issue, though that will also mean that I likely won't rejoin. I'll probably join in January since I've got three Kink.com memberships on the go as of yesterday with more planned. I haven't been to a Kink site in almost two years and I can't explain why since their material is among the best on the internet for that niche.

I'm with you on this, graymane. But I don't think it's just age. I haven't been a big fan of Christmas for years. My wife is insane about it and I think that's part of the reason I dislike it. But I do cook a traditional Christmas dinner and invite friends and family. A man's gotta eat.
As for Santa not handing out what's really wanted, I'm saddened to report that as with the past few years, Tanner Mayes has not appeared under my tree.
And to answer the poll question, that's a definite yes. I'm a bit disappointed to see that there are no holiday deals being offered through TBP though. Maybe tomorrow...

I think you're being a little unfair to yourself, sir. As much as we all try to be objective when writing reviews the reality is that whether you like a site is usually a subjective decision - as long as the site isn't a fraud, of course. And in that light, the more reviews the better. Many will find your information more useful when they're trying to determine whether what Babes Network offers is to their liking. Any ay you look at it, people are far more likely to forgive a slow download speed or a messy site design if they like the porn rather than the other way around. A well-designed and run site that offers nothing you like is of no value to anyone.

This review isn’t technically a review of Babes network but is of the identical clone, Babes.com. I really can’t imagine why a company would have two identical sites, but they do.
This site is another in the ‘artcore’ niche with hardcore porn done with a softer edge. If you’re looking for slapping, throat fucking and lots of anal pounding, then you’ll want to look elsewhere. There is none of that here.
What you will find here are lots of scenes with beautiful women in solo, lesbian and b/g scenes. The site has offers the ability to sort by scene type, which is an excellent feature for getting to what you prefer. My preference is for b/g, so selecting for ‘couples’ removes the solo and lesbian from what I can see. The hardcore b/g scenes all follow a familiar format with kissing, foreplay (for both partners), vaginal sex and the money shot. As is the norm with these kinds of sites, the scene lengths are approximately 20 minutes each, in keeping with the natural feel that the site is trying to create. The production values are high with good lighting and editing in the scenes. The lesbian and solo scenes offer what you’d expect with scenes in those niches.
The models are a mix of American and Europeans. Some are well-known porn stars while others are lesser known. They are all relatively young (18-25) and most are petite. One advantage to sites like this that have more sensual scenes and also offer solo and lesbian is that they seem to attract newer models who may only do solo or g/g for now. It’s a great opportunity to see some new models (like Emily Grey. Please, please, please, Ms. Grey, make the leap to hardcore!)
The site is fairly large with 189 couples videos, 95 lesbian videos and 179 solo girl videos available. The videos are all available as streaming or downloads. Streaming is available as RTMP or HTTP (I have no idea what that means…) in 720, 480 or 320 resolutions. Downloads are available in 1080, 720, 480 and mobile resolutions. MP4 is the only file type offered. I found the 720p videos to be a good compromise between video quality and file size. The 720p videos come in at 1280x720, 4000kb/s and 29fps. Subjectively, they look great with no pixilation that some sites still have at higher resolutions.
The site supports download managers and I had no problems with the links timing out. The download speeds were what I get with other sites so they don’t try to limit speeds, even at peak times. Updates are made daily with one scene per day being added.
The site offers lots of photos too. Currently there are 122 ‘couples’ photosets, 95 lesbian and 179 solo sets. The photos are available as either zips or singles. The few photosets I downloaded all had a little over 100 photos. Photo resolutions seem a bit low at 1663x2494.
There are no obvious negatives to the site. There are ads and upsells, but those happen at other sites too and they aren’t obtrusive or distracting. I did find it a bit annoying that when sorting scenes you had the option to see what scenes are available on other company sites like Brazzers, Mofos and Twisty’s. I think the trade-off is that if you really like a model it gives you access to trailers and you may want to join another site if you like what you see.
The bottom line is that this is an excellent site with some great sensual porn available. The models are beautiful and the sex is hot. At the discounted price available through TBP/PU this site is a great value if you’re looking for porn with a softer edge. |

Great review graymane. I must have received the same email offer that you did because, like you, I joined this site not realizing that it is a clone of Babes Network. I emailed Khan and he pointed me to a forum post where he explained that for unknown reasons Manwin doesn't want Babes.com listed.
I liked the site a lot and will likely score it higher than you did when I post a review. I also didn't have the same username/password issue that you mentioned. I got to pick my own.

I've never been a member to any Lightspeed site but way back in my early days of downloading porn I suspect my interests were a lot like yours. I joined several "Little" sites, like Little April and Little Summer. Like you, I've kept some of the videos even though they are almost unwatchable due to being such low resolution. Little April is 400x300! The strange thing is that these sites seem to still exist. I can't imagine anyone who joins now would be terribly happy to find the quality that low. One solo site that I still have a lot from is Brooke Skye. I see the site is delisted here due to some shenanigans on the part of the site owners, but I've also heard that the site was taken down when Brooke called it quits. At least that site offered some decent video resolutions.
But it seems that Lightspeed is trying to survive in 2013 with a 2003 business model. And I'll bet that if/when the business fails the site owner will blame piracy and ignore the fact that his site is woefully out of date.
I agree 100% that this is an entirely reversible problem. All Lightspeed needs to do is get some new models and start shooting in updated resolutions. And while I don't like download caps, I can live with them if the site is honest about them and they are reasonable. 4GB/day in 2013 is definitely not reasonable.

I'm a big fan of this site too - and this genre. Since you like artistic porn I recommend you check out EroticaX. It's new and small-ish, but if you have a decent internet connection you could probably get away with the two-day trial membership. The models in EroticaX are similar to those in X-Art, and there is no real variation, but I'm a fan of that body type so I don't see that as a negative.

I rely on both. I find that the space for a PU member writing a review isn't large enough to include all the stats that TBP reviewers include, and I doubt that many of us PU members would ever go into that much detail, so the information I get from TBP is valuable. The information that I get from user reviews may point out some hidden gems or flaws so those are valuable too. I always use both.

EroticaX is a new site created by the people who run the Open Life network. It’s a stand-alone site and not part of the Open Life network. The site offers a TBP discount at $15 and TBP also reports a full trial. I joined for a month so I can’t independently confirm the trial is full.
For a buyer who prefers harder-edged porn I’m always surprised at how much I like sites like this. This site is the latest in a crop of relatively new ‘artcore’ sites with an emphasis on high production values and a focus more on sensuality rather than raw sexuality. Each of the scenes starts slowly with some lingering shots of the model and then moves into some passionate sex. Not to create confusion – this is still a hardcore site with everything that you’d expect from that. These are not hotel-grade softcore videos. The videos are also a more natural length with each running about 25 minutes. It seems that aiming for a more sensual scene by not including gagging, throat fucking, gaping and spitting really brings the length down to something closer to the time it takes for real people to have sex
Many of the scenes also use some interesting locations. While there are some beaches and other outdoor locations, they also use some pretty swanky apartments or condos.
The models in the scenes are mostly from the current A-list in the adult industry. Unfortunately the site doesn’t offer much information to the prospective buyer so there appears to be no way to see what’s available before you join. But if you’re interested, models such as Allie Haze, Casey Calvert, Dillion Harper, Lia Lor, Maddy O’Reilly and Teal Conrad all have scenes here. (One thing to note: I also have a membership to the main Open Life network and found one scene was on both sites. That may be an issue for some.)
As this is a new site it is still quite small with only 20 scenes being available as of this writing. A new scene is added weekly so the site will continue to grow. Depending on your interest and internet connection, a member may want to consider the trial for now until the site grows. One feature that I like is that you can select a tab that will show you what scenes will be uploaded in the coming month. The downside to that is that you may see that there is a pending scene you want to see but it’s just past when your membership will expire.
The site is created by Open Life, a company that’s been recently created but was formed by another company that had been around for a while and had a good reputation. I’m not 100% sure, but damn close to that sure, that the site (and other Open Life sites) has to be affiliated with Fame Digital because their user interface and range of download options is the same. Speaking of which, there are a lot of options for downloads. WMVs are available in 160p, 240p, 360p and 480p. MP4s are available in those resolutions too and are also available in 540p, 720p and 1080p. I’ve dropped my practice of downloading the 1080p scenes because I watch most of my porn on a 24” monitor and the extra space on my hard drives can’t be justified. The 720p files I downloaded came in at 1280x720, a bitrate of just below 5000kb/s and 29fps. The technical side is definitely well done.
Photos are available – as singles or zips – but this is definitely not a photo site. The pics are 1280x1920.
There are a few things that are a bit subjective, but they bear mentioning in case anyone else is wondering too. Likely owing to the ‘artcore’ niche of the site, some things wouldn’t fit and you don’t see them. Anal sex is one. One scene is tagged as anal but there is no anal in it. I think the site got a little ambitious because on the scene tagged as anal the male model accidently bumps up against Jenna Ross’s anus while in the spoons position. The other missing element is the facial. Body shots are the norm here. I don’t consider these cons, I’m just mentioning them in case someone expects ‘sensual’ ass-poundings and facials.
The other semi-complaint that I have (that is also subjective and not factored into the score) is the editing and transitions. It appears that the site is trying to convey a more natural and passionate sex than typical gonzo, but the editors too often choose to cut out transitions between positions. I realize that there is probably a lot of forage left on the cutting room floor – figuratively, of course – but I think showing more transitions to different positions would convey more passion and, in my opinion, turn the heat up a notch.
The bottom line is that if you like high-production-value porn with some of the hottest models in the business today and you like to season your porn collection with some sensual and passionate artcore you’d do well to give this site a try. Yes, the site is small now, but the discount makes it a reasonable value that will only improve as the site grows. |
