I hope this a temporary problem. I've been a member here several times (and at a sister site, The Ass Factory) and I never experienced any problems at all. My plan has always been to rejoin again so if you find this gets resolved please post an update.

Great review pat. Like you, I try not to let my subjective opinions cloud an objective review. I may not like the porn on offer, but if the scenes are good, the site is well laid out and the downloads are simple then the site still deserves to be credited for that. Where we differ on this site is that I really liked the scenes here. I haven't rejoined yet, but I will.
(And I guess we also disagree that facials have no place in glamour porn. I still think they do but agree that a facial doesn't need to be the only ending to a scene.)

One issue I have with the European casting sites is that so much of the setup involves the interaction between the model and the agent. If it isn't in English I find that detracts from the scene a lot. Not enough to avoid the site though, so I will have a look. Thanks for the tip.

I agree. For a while I downloaded 1920x1080 when available but I came to the realization that for most of my viewing getting 1280x720 made more sense and takes up a lot less room. But I refuse to join sites now that only have poor resolution, which means that I won't join a lot of sites with mostly older material, and after having been a regular customer of Videobox over the past seven or eight years I won't be going back to them either. Of course, with VB, the crappy resolution is just one of many problems there now.

Probably the biggest advantage to coming to TBP / PU for me is that it is now rare that I make a mistake and join a crappy site or feel cheated. The information here and at TBP at least lets me know what I'm getting. One thing I always look at now is the scene resolution. There are several sites I'd like to join but won't because the file resolution is too low.

I find that studio sites can be a gamble. For every one like Evil Angel that does it well, there are ten that come up short. Club Red Light is lumped in with the majority of studio sites and continues the tradition of being mediocre.
Most people will know the Red Light District studio well since they have been around for more than a decade and their material is widely available on DVD sites. As a mainstream porn studio they cover all of the regular niches. Their offerings are almost exclusively gonzo and are harder-edged. This really isn’t couples porn.
The site markets itself as a network by creating different niche ‘sites.’ But since the scenes are all from RLD DVDs and are all available on the main page then it really can’t be treated as a network. (While CRL is the name of the network, it is also a separate site within the network.)

One caveat when counting the scenes: I have no idea because they aren’t labelled as such, but some of the scenes only offer photos and no videos. Another caveat on updates: you’ll note that the last update on the entire site was three weeks ago. Many of the sites haven’t updated in months. I won’t be the one to call for last rites, but maybe we need a porn priest on speed dial.
I really can’t understand why a studio who produces DVDs wouldn’t structure their website around those DVDs. To make matters worse, while some of the sites have some RLD series names, and the sites have scenes from that series, there are additional scenes in there too making it harder to sort. For others like me who have a large porn collection, not identifying the DVD title means that I inevitably downloaded a lot of scenes that I already had.
Apart from not having the scenes associated with their respective DVDs, the site is laid out in a logical manner. The main site shows thumbnails for 24 scenes per page spanning all the ‘sites. Opening one of the thumbnails brings you to that scene’s page where you can stream, download the scene (if video is available) and the photos.
There seems to be a point in March, 2008 when they started offering higher resolutions. Prior to that date the scenes were offered as WMVs in 640x480 and lower. I realize that a lot of these scenes weren’t filmed in good resolution so I can’t fault the site for this, but they are pretty poor quality. When higher resolutions were offered starting in 2008 they were first WMVs at 1280x720 at 4000 kb/s. A problem though, is that even though some of the scenes uploaded after 2008 are labelled “HD” on the thumbnail, they still only come in at 640x480. With file data not provided the best gauge for guessing resolution is file size. The last two years saw another change with the file type switching to MP4. For the past two years the files are offered as an “MP4 High” and an “MP4 Medium.” The “High” are 1920x1080 at 5000kb/s and 29fps. They look good, but not as crisp as on some other sites. The “Medium” are 960x540 at 3000kb/s and 29fps. I know this will sound really fussy on my part, but I do wish they offered 1280x720 to bridge the gap.
While there are photos offered (and singles or zips) there are only a few low-res photos offered with each scene, and some of those are screencaps.
The site supports download managers and I had no trouble with links timing out. Download speeds were good. I experienced a problem the first few days of my membership with the site crashing and giving me an “internal server error” message. Usually going back to the site and logging in resolved it. It hasn’t happened in the past few days so it may have been a temporary glitch.
I found that I had downloaded several scenes where the video and audio were not in sync. It may have been that with bad luck I stumbled on the few like that, but it is more likely that this occurs in other scenes too.
The bottom line is that this is a site that could have been great but isn’t. RLD makes some great porn but the cons really outweigh the pros here. Add to this that the site may be dying and I am certain that I won’t be back. The only people I’d recommend the site to would be a person who is just starting to buy and collect online porn and doesn’t already have many RLD titles. |

Agreed. I currently have memberships to Hardcore Gang Bang (which now includes Bound Gangbangs ) and Public Disgrace. Some of the scenes are incredible.

Agreed. One of the reasons I avoid tube sites and gladly pay for porn is to assist the sites in staying in business and making more of it for me to buy and enjoy. In this case, they offer a premium product and are likely justified in charging a premium price.

I agree. When I first became a Kink customer they really seemed to be different. Back then I wouldn't have been surprised if they reported the glitch and extended memberships by two weeks to compensate people.

I think I'm going to retract my surprise at the price increase here. Based on the information from the webmaster back in '07 and your information this sounds much more reasonable. Besides, I've paid $65 for a membership to Infernal Restraints and still found that to be a fair value.

Coincidentally I stumbled on your comment when I came here to post the same thing. I'm not a member now, and haven't been for about a year, but I noticed that the December 30th update was "The Star Player" starring Amy Brooke and Isis Love. This was immediately apparent to me because this is my favorite EB scene, and among my favorite Amy Brooke scenes. (Boo to new boobs!!!) But I have it already and therefore I know it's a repost.
Back a year or so ago I also noticed that they removed the upload dates from all the scenes at Water Bondage so it isn't immediately apparent that this site hasn't updated in a long time.
I always felt that Kink seemed to be much more ethical than this. When I joined my first Kink site maybe four or more years ago I screwed up my account and I was very impressed with how quick and helpful they were.
I hope all of these signs don't point to trouble at the best BDSM sites on the internet.

I agree that I'd like to see many of these girls join the business and make more porn. Both this site and Exploited College Girls have some really attractive unknowns.
I find both Back Room Casting Couch and Exploited College Girls to be among the best in this niche. Broke Amateurs could have been a contender but instead of improving file resolution they've actually reduced it.

I found the shooting style has improved. The static cameras get repositioned depending on the action and where it's happening in the room, so that helps too. I find that his POV abilities are very good.
The male performer still uses the circle to obscure his face. I don't find that to be a deal breaker because he mostly manages to keep his face out of the shots anyway.
What's the cost of the special offer?
