Just thought I would update this. The price for Videobox is back to $14.95 with the TBP link. It doesn't change the Premium Channel price, but still, with both premium channels now available for $17.95, the total price is coming to $32.90 for VB + Vivid + Evil Angel.
I've tried running CCleaner, clearing all history in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Opera and cannot get the $14.95 TBP price.
Of note, they have now combined the two premium channels, Evil Angel and Vivid into one price for both. It changes depending on the resolution you choose from Videobox.
As example, if I went with the DVD resolution on Videobox the price shows up as $17.95.
To add BOTH Vivid and Evil Angel premium channels in DVD resolution is another $17.95. Used to be $17.95 each.
If I pick the lower resolution on Videobox the price is $9.95 per month and to add both Vivid and Evil Angel premium channels at the lower resolution is $9.95 for both.
I don't know if that's throwing the discount off or what is happening.
Here are all those high ratings based on the amount of DVDs available and on some of the, admittedly, fine features of this site but is this the only reason for giving a site good marks?
I keep looking at the daily updates and see one scene after the other that's almost indistinguishable from the one (scene or DVD) that came before it or the one who came before that .. ad infinitum. I have been a member of this site quite a few times and do recognize its redeeming features but a steady mark in the nineties for basically giving you the same thing day after day?
Does that make sense? Or am I just getting too old and jaded? Or is it simply that nothing else is available and they couldn't change if they wanted to?
Videobox security when joining. Personal data and credit card info
When i click the join banner a window pops with the following message: "This website has content which won't be delivered using a secure https, which could compromise the safety of the whole website." I had to translate this from spanish so i guess this is not exactly the same text that you get when you try to join the site from anglo-speaking countries. I can see the padlock -the one i always see when i join a site- with an exclamation mark. Looking for further details i read that the content which is not secure are usullay banners, pictures, etc, but still, i'm hesitant to join, if i do i'll do it using a virtual credit card, but, again, and sorry for being such a pain in the ass, is it safe to join the site?

In a lack of anything else NEW. (Damned if I'm stupid: I do not know HOW many times I've joined here just because of some fancy/great looking previews of certain models......)

Went hunting for some fine latina and euro-videos - oh, they got some at VideoBox - even newer/wellknown studios like Sinsational, Sineplex, Private and Intense Industries ect.
BUT again: The quality!!!
Unlike studios as 21Sextury, DDF ect. these clips - even at so called DVD are far from the viewing quality of 2010...
This high rated site is still at a 2007/2008 level - with videos like the ones on sale down at the corner adult-shop for a buck and just in general: Poor viewing quality!
AND BTW: Watch out for those extras like Evil Angel and Vivid - if you fall for one video and "upgrade" it's gonna cost you - another way of making money for the VideoBox company...

What happened to the "quick preview" option on the six caps when you're a member? It disappeared this week. Is it just me or did it disappear for everyone that's a member? Shame, it was a great feature and quick way to decide if I liked a scene.
Beware ! I tried to join, but was redirected to pay via ccbill and found that I'd joined vipmovieaccess. The site appears the same, but you can't log in !
I have used CCBill many times, and am surprised they haven't replyed to my emails. VIPmovieaccess does NOT live upto its name- and you can't even email the support - it just sits there.
Also the 14,95 special no longer applies- 2nd feb 2010 even if you log in via thebestporn link.
I decided to take the plunge and add the Vivid channel. Two reasons, Taylor Hayes classic scenes and Where the Boys Aren't #1. I consider #1 in the Where the Boys Aren't series to be one of the best lesbian DVDs I've seen. Taylor Hayes was one of the prettiest and dirtiest stars I remember from the 90s, early 2000s. Oh and they have around 20 scenes of Taylor so that combined with the lesbian DVD would be worth the extra $18.
Once inside the Vivid section, I found there are over 200 Vivid DVDs on it and am downloading to keep. Here are some surprising (to me) finds in those DVDs.
Kayden Kross - Beautiful solo model was how I knew her. She has 14 hardcore scenes on the Vivid channel.
Raylene (90s) - One of the greatest natural bodies in porn history, highly underrated, has 7 scenes.
Meggan Malone - I only knew of her work on ALS sites, she has 20 scenes on the channel, including hardcore.
Mimi Miyagi - 3 scenes, retired back around 2000, ran for Nevada governor in 2006. The scenes here show the 90s Mimi when she could put her stomach on the bed and her butt pointed nearly straight up in the air. Amazing back arch and bubble butt for a tiny Filipina model.
There are plenty more but those are the ones that have jumped out at me so far. I'm wondering why there isn't more Sky Lopez. I know she is all weird now, but she was one of the best Vivid girls. I remember having a lesbian clip between her and Raylene that required you to have 4 eyes to watch both of them at the same time. I can't say I will join the Vivid channel each time I join Videobox, but I will be keeping an eye on it. I wouldn't mind to see more of those late 90s Vivid DVDs make their way onto the channel.
How do these guys at Videobox justify that difference/price-ditto between Standard and DVD-quality.
Joined earlier today and went for the DVD-thing (not much price-difference, anyhow) - then downloaded several clips in both Standard AND DVD. Just got a new 'top-machine' here with the best damn video-card (I alomst say: money can buy) - and still - like in the 'old days' - I can't tell/see any difference.
Went for some of the new LEGEND-stuff (latina) - and even in DVD things are blurred.
But ok, some other videos are ok - but the difference between standard and DVD are NONE in viewer-quality.
Still do not get it here at Videobox...your're lucky if the clip is crisp - but in 5 or 6 of 10 it is NOT....

What about video-quality? All those times I've been a member, I never could see much difference in viewing quality between the standard and the DVD resolutions. Not a BIG difference in price, but with some of the 'good ol' material there was NEVER any difference.
What about today?
I was just browsing Videobox and all I saw were a bunch of gonzo flicks. The fetish niches remain virtually unchanged. I certainly wouldn't give it the 97 I gave it 3 years ago. I wonder if the drop in price is a reflection of more people tired of the same ol' crap and their losing signups.
They oughta rename it to GonzoBox.
Ive been very generous in my reviews for VideoBox in the past. They offer good content at a reasonable price, and for the most part, that has not changed.
What I was not aware of was how awful their customer service is. When I purchased my 3 month membership awhile back, I had an issue with a few videos, and they never got back to me. I had my account to Brazzers hacked, so I emailed VideoBox asking if any other IP addresses had logged into my account. Again, no response.
Then, this past week, my membership renewed, but for some reason, I couldnt log on. So, I email them on Tuesday, and I get an automated email saying "This could be your issue...blah, blah, blah...please allow 24-48 hours for us to respond." So, I allow 48 hours to pass...no email (and yes, my spam filters allow their emails to get through). So, I email them again, telling them Ive already sent one email and got no response. I got the same automated email. I checked this morning and still god no frigging response.
So, right after that, I contacted CCBill and asked them if they could help. AN HOUR LATER, I got an email saying they refunded my money. I contacted VideoBox, told them to forget it, and that they just lost a customer for life.
I know this probably wont stop anyone from joining, but just so you know...BEWARE, their customer service is awful and pretty disrespectful if you ask me.
Not only have the downloads become ever so slow but the streaming on this site is getting jerky and unwatchable. Anyone else notice this or is it just a local thing with my ISP?
TBP has updated their price listings correctly, but that photo of the $9.95 membership is also a thing of the past. It doesn't look to me that their long-term membership has increased yet, though.
Sorry to bang on about this, but the download speeds are simply unacceptable. Most other sites manage to have enough bandwidth, so why can't Videobox? They refuse to acknowledge that the problem lies with their server. In the UK you can only get optimum speeds between 2am and 7am. What use is that?
... when are they going to take some of the niche content out of the "fetish" category and list it separately or at least offer sub-categories within that niche? They are doing a brilliant job in everything else: the ability to edit and download only what you want is one of them. Basing their recommendations on your preferences, stored under favorites is another. Usually they are right on. But!!! Why do I have to look through a long list of DVDs and scenes placed into the fetish category when I'm looking for only one particular niche like panties or pregnant or latex or foot or smoking etc., they may all be fetishes but at least give us some sub-categories to make the search a bit easier.

I figured how can I go wrong, VideoBox's offerings aren't that terribly exciting if you're not an anal fan but the price is right and I'll surely find some material that appeals to me. And I have! But what the heck happened to their speed since I was there last?
I get, on average, speeds of up to 1.7 MB/s on other pay sites, but on VideoBox, downloads have trickled down at speeds ranging from 45 (multiple downloads) to 245 KB/s (single downloads). It doesn't appear to make a difference what time of the day it is either .. speed has slowed considerably for me.
A frustrating site which seems to have lost its way since offering films from Evil Angel and Vivid on a separate payment scheme. In my experience the download speeds are unacceptably slow most hours of the day. What's the point of having a great back catalogue if you can't download it?
VideoBox remains the best deal in porn on the web. Their new premium content offering is a bit annoying, especially as that content is really not worth much of a premium.
The normal content they offer is of such high quality, I don't understand who would spring for the extra monthly fee. That aside, Videobox is consistent, good quality and provides new content on an daily basis.
lots of technical problems and NO customer support
I joined Red Tube Premium several months ago, and within days the site turned into Video Box. Apparently Video Box bought them out. I can't log in to the actual Video Box site though, only the former Redtube site, but the seem identical. In any case, I have massive technical problems with Video Box. Every single time I use the site, several videos will not play. I click on them and then nothing--just loading, loading, loading forever. No matter how long I wait, they never start--sometimes this will happen to 7 or 8 videos in a row. Also, when you try to add a video to your favorites folder nothing happens. Also, many of the videos are upside down.
What's really annoying though is that several emails to customer service have ALL been TOTALLY ignored. I have never received any answer to any email. This could be a good site, but I don't like to be treated like shit, so I won't renew and will stick with VideosZ which is just as good pornwise and MUCH better thechnically.
