The 70's porn stuff was hot for its time. I think that in the early 80's, things heated up. That's when you had adventurous directors like Cecil Howard and Alex DeRenzy start to really spread their wings. Then you had incredibly hotties like Ginger Lynn step into the fray. The quality got attrocious for a while when the shift from film to video happened - that early stuff looks absolutely like crap. In the late 80's, though, you had people like Bruce Seven start to do amazing stuff that paved the way for the best of gonzo.
I still say that if the great stuff being created today blows previous periods away. If I were in a porn theater, and a preview came on for a 70's porn flick and then some great Zero Tolerance vid with Amy Reid posing away, then sucking and fucking for all she's worth, I can guaran-damn-tee that I would be 200% more turned on by the Amy Reid vid.
I think there's a lot of nostalgia impacting the posts in this thread while the voting is a more accurate assessment of reality.

Think I know the feeling. What I remember best was the first times I joined 1ByDay ....and WOW! - those girls made the libido work, for sure - but the video quality lacked a hell of a lot.
Still some euro-girls I had never seen before, like.....sorry, I can't remember them all - just made every thing tick...
And today: well, the overlook, the way of quickly scanning whats in there, whats good and whats not - that takes a few hours, sometimes much less.
So yes, it's a kind of another ballgame now - and, alas, there is too long between those sites where you get - just - some of the exitement from the early days...
And maybe therefore, I too do rush into a fast review onve in a while after beeing a member for a day or two (still l like the "cooling off" bit, though)

I used to spend an awful lot of time in the adult video stores, even driving to other cities to find something new or creative. I don't miss it at all. I love the "instant gratification" of the technology generation.

Yeh, I feel the same way. My "excitement" with a site varies depending on what I've seen lately. I'm sure I've been looking at porn for so long that some unique site will make me think it's the best thing since sliced bread until I've used it for a few weeks.
Since many of us join only for a month or two then move on to other sites and come back several months later if it looks like there's something new, maybe the best reviews would be written after at least three weeks of membership, or even after we've "moved on."
Just an idea.

I agree with Drooler. There is the initial rush when even I, a weathered old porn fan from the good old pre pubic hair in Playboy days, get a charge out of some heretofore undiscovered babe on a site that seems to overflow with great stuff.
My rule is that a site that looks great and gets a bunch of good reviews goes into my favorites file on PU while I have a 5 day cooling off period. I may check out the site during the period but I won't sign up. After a week if I still have the site on my mind I'll take the plunge and sign up.
As for reviews, I don't feel that I can write an objective review unless and until I have become thoroughly familiar with a site and am willing to renew, or because it's so light in content or poorly managed that I have decided that the site is not worth renewing.

Good points;
1, When you now click on a model you now can see all her available photosets and videos.
2, All photosets and videos now have a thumbnail picture.
3, All photosets are available in one zip file.
Bad point;
1, They are deleting a lot of the older content (at this point in time still available via the "old" home page link).
Still one of the best multimodel sites around.

Never had that with any paysite - was a member of Teenrotica a year ago or so - but nothing like this happened.
I seen some pop-ups at dangerous free sites where this pop-up tells me that my computer need optimizing and their program offers to do a check-up. I run away as fast as I can.....
Here we need a comment from the webmaster at Teenrotica

Yes, but not all of the "Company Sites" are necessarily part of a subscription to one of the sites.
Example - Membership to GlamourModelsGoneBad does not give you access to their Shay Laren site.
Example - GiveMePink is affiliated with many other sites (see indexxxed.com to see the closest this Company comes to cross pollination of its sites).

I remember when Jesse Capelli used to do weekly cam shows at Misha's cam network when her site was new and active. I could tell it was going way downhill in the last days of her public forum, which I checked now and then. The poor members were complaining about the lack of updates, Jesse's posts in response were bitchy as hell - all "What do you expect? I'm busy!"

Thanks for the Planet Anita heads up. I believe it should have almost the same content and at the same resolutions that eventually appear at Club Anita. Someone at the Club Anita forums complained, though, that Planet Anita had much more BTS/personal material than Club Anita. It certainly has a real diary updated more often and with more meaningful entries although it is already available in the free section.
Planet Anita, at least, doesn't try to fool you in the website tour: I feel that what you get once you join is what you see in the free section.
Very few of the Glamour Models Gone Bad are alive and kicking and the website tours are specially misleading: they look super cool and promise great content and interaction with the model but, once inside, you get a very old looking design, questionable quality and the promised interaction with the model is a bad joke. Apart from the ones you say, Club Charlie (Charlie Laine) still seems to live up to the promises.

That could make things worse and the site might not have received more than a handful of updates in 4 years. That could explain also why most videos are MPEG. I am not familiar with the model and I had never seen any of the galleries so I couldn't really tell what year exactly they were taken.
I assumed most of the content had been uploaded together in 2006 because one of the latest galleries was from her "new movie"; I looked up the title and it had been released in 2006. All the preceding updates had almost the same day and month and that's why I thought they all might be part of the original content.
Anyway, whether they are from 2004 or 2006, anyone joining should not expect any recent content.

Yes, I just thought this one could deserve some attention and maybe some hint/joy for other PUs. I was also a bit overwhelmed buy exotics4me's review for one very special reason: I found some long lost video-clips here of the curly blond Katerina (aka this and this) - most other videos does not do her as good as here. (not even the new ones at Babes.tv.
And yes, I like your "honorable mention" - that could be something new here at PU...
Just tried the preview at czech-babes.com - plum forgot about that site and thought it was long gone, but it's still there.
BTW, not that I have problems with a lot of raffle wins - its great. Do not know how they find the winners, but maybe TBP like the idea of not having to pay out cash, since I'm on Amazon.com. Or maybe I'm just plain lucky at this game....
Another BTW: I like your answer to the latest poll- that shows a lot of human/PU decency....
