I'm not a pro (far from) concerning technical aspects with those video-files...
But lately I've downloaded both the wmv and mov-files for some of the newest clips - and when I watch with VLC, I think the mov-files are more crisp...

Twistys site is very friendly if you work with it a bit. You can change what your left mouse click button does to download on one click. I have mine set to download .zip/.rar and .wmv/.mov/.avi
When you do this on Twistys, you can download movies by clicking the movie you want, then clicking by which part you want or full scene. Only needing two clicks.
The pictures zips are even easier, you don't even have to open the sets up. You can just left click the little zip icon beside of each set and it starts downloading. So those only take 1 click.
Another tip that the webmaster at Teen Dreams gave me awhile back is to use the add-on for Firefox, "DownThemAll"
If you go to a model's page on Twistys, you can list in the extension filter to download only .zip files. One click on the model's page in a blank area of the page, click downthemall in you context menu and it will load up all of the model's zips in that one click.
Twistys and Teen Dreams are two of the few sites that are programmed this way and it really makes downloading very easy. TD takes it a step further by having their movies on the model page already listed as .wmv, so you can also add the extension, .wmv to the filter and it will download all of the zips and movies for that model with one click. Very handy and efficient.

I'm not joining this site again until they bring back the previews. At some point they made the intentional move to hide all the contents until you pay the membership, probably because what was added wasn't too attractive.
There are sites like VideosZ that do this kind of megasite thing right. Extensive content previews are a minimun requirement these days.

First let me thank you for this review. But next I must ask the honest question. Did VideoBox all of a sudden get better? Because last year after their conversion I joined and their conversion to only MP4 pretty much ruined the site. Yes I agree that Joe Average who only wants to fap will be ok with this site. But to the porn snob this site fell a metric ton in terms of quality. To make matters worse there are the video issues which are INTENTIONALLY evident. They allow visual blemishes in their encoding, white washing scenes and worst of all they overlay a lot of their scenes with a "New" musical score that totally ruins the scenes. I even compared some of my older saved scenes to the ones available a year ago and the difference was night and day. When you top that off with the recycling and quintuple posting of material I cannot see how anyone could suggest this site. If you just want to fap ok this site is adequate. But if you want a quality site then VideoBox is a 60 if there ever was one. Quantity is not superior to Quality in my opinion.

Everything is fine with the connections and speed tests. I have membership to other sites and no problems. Just this one when I joined back in November. I'll still rejoin some time later because it has such a massive database.

How were the download speeds for you? I joined for one month a couple of months ago and found that download speeds were throttled to around 500KBs, which was very slow. I haven't rejoined as a result of the slow download speeds.

I used to subscribe to VB at least twice a year and usually three times a year but haven't for a while and likely won't again. For me the problem is file resolution. Can you advise if they still upload four videos per day at fairly low resolution and then one "HD" and medium resolution? TBP reports the resolution as 720x576 for the majority of the videos, which is pretty low by today's standards. Is that still the normal resolution?
Another thing that bugs me now is how there are no tour options. Up until a year or so ago you could see everything they had but now, as you know, there is no tour at all.
VB used to be one of the best sites on the internet. How the mighty have fallen!

The fact that someone can't download properly would certainly cause a wide gap in the ratings. It has never happened to me with VB. As I wrote in a comment on the latest review I usually download at my top speed which is at present set at 2.3MB/s. I have never had an abort after 99% of a movie was downloaded so I can't identify with our fellow Europeans except to express my sympathy. My personal beef with VB is that they are catering too much to the common taste (good business sense, though) and not enough to the niches. That's why I prefer Videosz. They are mostly main stream as well but do a bit more to appease my strange tastes.

Maybe it's a question of the entire setup at this site - it may seem attractive to some - and it may be attractive when you join and get overwhelmed - by the amount. And then to some: A disapointment of quality in general.
Still it should come as no surprise with the very different scores - this site in particular has been debated over and over again - with all it's "plus and minus"
Will not go into details - the details have been around about Videobox as long as TBP/PU - but guess it still comes down to the gap between "the amount" and "the quality" - it does to this user, anyway.....

Well, I gave the negative review, and it's because it is negative.
A place like Videobox is basically a giant download site. None of the content is exclusive, and it's reputation should live or die on the ability to download movies.
Right now the site is garbage. A complete waste. They even have malicious scripts on their server that will abort your downloads at 99.1%-99.9%.
There are plenty of other choices out there. I've been using them off and on... the last two were videoz and porn.com. I thought I'd stop in and see how this site was doing since it didn't used to be anywhere close to this bad.

It may be the ability to download material rather than the content that decides the review. I hated Video Box and never went back because they had the slowest download speeds I have ever experienced. Their customer service was non existent. Streaming was impossible except some time after midnight here in the UK. Good material and value but it all depends on the ability to watch it.
For those who can access the content I fully understand why it should get high marks, but it's a lottery on download speeds. From what I have heard US appears not to be so bad, but European members often report of slow speeds and download problems.

Yes, these are the main cons. Personally, I had to sift through quite a number of videos to find downloads that appealed to me. I found about 30 clips from 18 of 200 videos that I thought were interesting between Oct 20 and Sept 11, 2008. You may find more to your liking – I am only expressing my opinion. There is a lot of content on this site, despite its quality of content flaws, so in the end it is worth a trial for those who are satisfied with ordinary porn.

By forums I meant the scene and DVD comments available by clicking 'Show Reviews' under the main DVD text and the individual scene texts.
They tend to be a bit more forum-like than review-like.

Although it's true that I did put a lot more cons vs pros. I can't say that most of them are true cons in my book. This is my first time with this site so I felt it was important to mention that they and VB share many of the same movies. If I were to join VB again then I would also add that VB and this site share many of the same titltes in the con section. It's also true that they appear to have a lot more older titles than VB but that isn't a con in my book but it might be for other people so I thought I should put it in the con section. The video resolution is agin not a big deal for me because I usually select lower resolution videos anyway but this is again an issue for many people so it needs to be added to the cons section. I suspect that I could have put a lot more pros but most of them would have been pretty much the same thing I put in the cons but with the positive outlook.
I really enjoyed the site and have even stayed a member for an extra month simply because I haven't downloaded all of the movies that I want to yet.

Well, Cybertoad got around to it and the same goes for asmith: Those 3D/animated-sites.
I've been somewhat fascinated by that kind of "porn", but along the way it seems like the deal is not so attractive, after all - thanks to reviews from asmith and Cybertoad.
Maybe thing are a bit premature - and maybe it takes MORE time to develop stuff like this. Wish it did not, though...

Thanks for the comment, cybertoad. I really think this is the weakest review I've done in a long time. I just didn't have any 'connection' with this site. You might have had the same thing where you take a membership without really knowing what you're getting. This is an great site (not excellent) but just not for me.
