Im sorry you didnt get a proper response from our customer support. Can you tell me the videos you were trying to download, the ones that were popping up a user/pass window?
BTW, we disable email support, just because we had around 10k fake emails/spam per day, so we ended up missing a lot of emails. Thats the reason why we request our members to use our customer support form.

Sorry to hear about the customer service problems you are having. I just rejoined for the first time in a few months and haven't had any problems (yet). I guess even our most highly rated sites are not without problems.
Were you able to fix the problem and watch the videos? I'm thinking it might have to do with DRM. I guess the site used to use DRM and some of the older videos still have it. Only one video I download last year still had DRM. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't watch it on my xbox.
I've downloaded quite a lot of those mp4 files from the site - and yes - they are not ALL that good (some are just as you say a bit pale - or even "milky") - but then again I found some older favorite stuff that I have in my archives ass wmv or mpg - and here they (the mp4-files) are certainly an improvement...
Guess it's not that easy to re-edit videoclips from back say 2002-2005 - even 1ByDay has not succeeded in making theirs crisp.
I know you're a fan of mature women, as I am. As I said in my review, the premise of the site is good, and it's devoid of anything trashy, both of which are a plus. But if you're going to be a pictures-only site and steer clear of video, even in 2008, why not offer the best quality pictures you can? Why not offer zip-files? And why haul off a large percentage of the content to another site and charge extra for accessing it, when the content is not of premium quality to begin with? I'll admit, some of the newer pics are decent, but a lot of the older ones are smaller than 600x800. This move seems a bit stingy to me. Especially considering the 33.00 USD I paid for my month.
For a site like this, with small thumbs and no zips, not to mention generally slow-loading pages, it requires a good deal of patience and work to download each pic individually and hope to get some kind of genuine enjoyment out of the experience. Despite my low score, there are some very nice pictures here, as I said in my pros, but for 33 smackers I would rather not have to squint and hunt and click so much.
And like I said, seeing all those links to sets I can't access is sort of insulting, even though there's still a good deal of content I *can* get to. It's a bad idea, and without that the score might have been at least a 70. The spirited ladies themselves can be appreciated on their own merits, even though most of them are quite frankly not my cup of tea, and more or less transcend the whole scoring thing. Yes. I did notice the increase in score. I mentioned in a post in your forum thread that I would have rated VF at 83 based on my last visit in November. That was of course before they upgraded the images and added more content. When I next join, I may well be giving a rating closer to your current one, though I cannot tell whether slightly higher or lower until I am in the site. I shall also evaluate navigational changes though I must say I do not usually get too worked up about those unless a site is lot bigger than VF. On a site of VF's size, all I really need is a good model directory. But, as you know, I collect models! You might want to find sets with a particular kind of lingerie. I just want everything for a particular model.
I agree with you for applauding the webmaster for concentrating on the niche. Not only is the modern trend young and casual; it is young and casual in hardcore video. Almost everyone who joins a site that is not firmly in that niche wants to change it into a young, casual, hardcore video site.
The webmaster may indeed be courageous but what he is doing might make sense financially too. He is the best example in a small niche but that still has enough devotees to make it viable. Whereas a young-casual-hardcore-video site is competing with about a million other similar sites.
I particularly like the inclusion of VF Academy in the membership. For there we have young in lovely lingerie. I am still hoping he gets my very favourite model ever in that genre. No doubt, that will lead to more email correspondence when I join!
So messmer, I still don't know what Home Media Player is! Is it a Microsoft player or some downloadable software? I did not find it via google. I am familiar with K-lite codecs but never heard of Home Media Player.
VLC has the advantage of not needing separate codecs of course.
By the way. I sincerely hope PnP, the VF webmaster does not go down the 1080p route. My PC cannot play 1080p video at all. Its graphics card just cannot handle it. 720p is perfect for me.

I am not sure what you mean by Home Media Player. I have tried the various sharpening, saturation and contrast settings with VLC. VLC is generally great but I found the Microsoft player better for wmv files. Worth experimenting with whatever you can.
If you mention a video or two from VF, I might well already have one of them since I downloaded quite a lot of them.
As for lots of sites- well I am in six at the moment. I will enjoy VF more if I wait a while!

A fair review overall, but it's disappointing to note recent amendments this year to navigation not actually noticed at all.
Makes me wonder if they are used...
The site now has 'breadcrumbs' to aid backwards and forwards navigation, and in and out of sets, across sets of images and across video set pages. This took alot of work!
We added streaming mp4 in three sizes as well as same sizes for download.
Model ratings added, (and strangely models are rated differently across sites, Vintageflash users being way way more fussy and picky than the other sites I run...not sure why or who.
Front end now has all updates clearly visable dated,with sample pics and streaming trailer. Video length and image count also stated.
Video quality, well we tried 1080p, and there ARE a few on the site, nobody noticed. I didn't see any advantage, for such a big increase in file size( and download time).. But it is being worked on slowly, but as we back tracked, I'll remove reference to 1080p.. As for softness, yes I know what you mean, we are doing our best in house and bought in content is no sharper than ours, we shoot on a Sony V1P. One of our contributors shoots for ATK and other bigger sites, and I cannot see any differencev in supplied content, honestly... We use a semi wide angle lens that does soften things a bit, but makes a scene a much nicer view over all.
We can add 1080 in wmv or Mp4, if enough interest, but the request trends are not looking that way, more to Netbook, Tablet and Android or Iphone use.
Requests often contradict each other entirely , so we have to take an overall view, seem fair to you?

I am very glad they have moved to 2400x1600 pictures. I had a very long email exchange with the webmaster in my last membership and I suggested 2400x1600. I am delighted that he has done this. I will definitely be rejoining when my current memberships to other sites end in about a month. I have more memberships than I can cope with right now!
As for the video, I did download quite a lot of it when I was there in November 2011. I think the clarity issue you mention has more to do with their video camera than with whether it is encoded to 720p or 1080p. 720p can be perfectly clear. I dread it when a site starts using 1080p. Neither my PC nor my laptop can play 1080p video!
I do not know what video player you use. Their video was (and your review suggests still is) only available in wmv rather than mp4. I find it looks clearer and sharper played with Windows Media Player (WMP)than with VLC. If you regularly do use VLC (as I do), it might be worth trying them in WMP instead.
The zip naming never bothers me on this site or any other. I download each zip to a separate subfolder with a unique folder name.
Messmer, thanks for a helpful review - this site remains firmly on my to-try list, being a fan of both retro underwear and lewd talk - I don't know of any good sites with the former, let alone both! I also especially like the broad age range of models here.

As owner of this site and the linked in bonus sites, just wanted to make a couple comments.
I. These sites are are hosted in the US, with one of the most respected adult hosts, and very high spec server. Downloads should not be an issue. I will bring this up with my hosting company, but their tests usually show very good results, so I'm frustated as this reviwer was with the reported download speed he suffered.
2. All the three main sites, are nylon/lingerie/heels fetish first of all, and then split into seperate sub niches. Unless you are into nylons, lingerie and 'dressing up' to 'dress down', ie: strip, you will miss the point of my sites. Full nudity, is absolutely NOT the point, and most sets end with masturbation with the model in nylons and heels.
Vintageflash updates every 5 days, the others weekly, all updates on these are a full video and matching image set. 16 nylon fetish sets added a month...plus the Vintageflash archive mini updates, overall around 26 updates/month in total.
3.Dialog is a key to the videos, it's a fantasy site, you have to like a story line, albeit maybe cliched, our members really like this.
4. If members have a problem, (like download speed), I respond via the sites ticket system as promptly as possible, and help and inform them as required.
5.The search is yes, truly awful, I agree. On the sites next rebuild early 2011, it will be 100& what is needed.

I think it's only about 45-50 in the large format (formats - I realize that a couple are in 1280x720) - until now.
The 640x480 and even 720x576 are not BAD - and can be viewed (not crisp, though) fullscreen...but generally the formats seems a bit varied - and even in the same formats - so does the viewing quality..

Most scenes I likes started off dressed and lead to the scenes.
There is a significant amount of lingerie, and some Lez scenes where one is sexy dressed and other nude. The site is big on erotic. Unlike Bangbro where the girl has clothes on 5% of the scenes, I would gauge the sexyness is where they were heading with the site.
