Your suggestion was quite good. I was only trying to tell anyone who's a fan of Elegant Angel movies and who may not be aware that it's probably better to go with Elegant directly then it is to join VB since you'll get a lot more content for your money.
I'd much rather that VB add the older Elegant titles than the newer stuff since that's the stuff that I can't find anymore.
I also wish you a Merry Christmas and in case we don't talk for a while then an Happy New Year as well.

Thanks for the info but I don't think it's such a good deal since VB was already offering Elegant movies prior to this. All they've done is add more recent titles but it's not really worth it since you can get all of these titles plus many more by simply joining Elegant Angel directly for 4$ more.

I suspect that they are a victim of their popularity so satisfying such a large group of members is an impossibility. I'm glad that people like you still enjoy the site and I'm also glad that their join price is ridiculusly low so no one can complain that porn is too expensive beause this site proves them wrong.
It's too bad that the few studios that I love don't have a lot of content and aren't updating anymore and those that are tend to have the annoying added loud sountrack.

I wih I could but I can't. The sound is an integral part of the scene so if there is music than it has to be either unoticeable or not too loud to overshadow the action betwen the players.

I was really tempted to match your score but I gave them a couple of extra points because what annoys me about the site may be more of a personal nature. I do agree that quality vs quantity would be a much better approach. There is way too much repetition. Mind you I can appreciate their budget restraints because I don't think they charge enough. It's strabge to think that a site I scored in the high 90's a few years ago has dropped to barely above 80.

I agree with you that mikes review of VB would definetely be worth reading. He's been a member for 3 years so he must be a huge fan of the site. At best, I only visit the site a couple of times year a year.

I think there is something wrong with posting a very negative comment
on the same day that it's happening because the comment will stay there for a long time and may have only been an issue on the day that it was posted.
I'd also like to add that nowhere did the poster write that his issue was with VB3 and not VB2. He wrote that part in a subsequent reply. Now it's quite possible that someone reading the negative comment will read all the replies and then see that it as to do with VB3 but then again maybe they will only read the comment and assume that it applies to VB as a whole.
Don't worry about debating with me. I like to debate.

It's not the posting that was the issue but the vocabulary that was used. The title of the thread is "A New Low". How exactly would a site being down be a new low? If he had just posted a comment asking other members to see if they had isse with VB3 or VB2 then I wouldn have been glad to check and confirm whether I saw the same problem but that's not what he did. He pretty much slammed what is essentially one of the highest rated sites on the net.
I welcome comments with important news because these can sometime be more up to date than any review but the comment must be constructive or it's only a bitch fest. I think if you want to bicth about something than use the forum. You can put a lot more info and it's more appropriate than the comment section.

If you can't see that your comment was super negative for a site you claim to have been a member for many months then the only thing I can say is that you should cancel your membership right away and never return to this site.
I've had issue with quite a few sites over the years and these are normally technical glitches that happen to most popular sites. The problem usualy gets taken care of within 1-2 days and I'm back to downloading porn from these sites.

Those are harsh words and pretty way off target since I just logged in myself and there are five new movies uploaded on todays date.

Another great review and there's one point you and I agree on and that's i their policy of adding new content. I'd rather see less movies being added on a regular basis and better ones instead. There are way too many movies that are basically just content filler so that they can keep thei claim of adding 5 new movies per day.
There are also too many movies that contain leased content already on the site under a different studio name. I'd much rather see them go for the dead studios content like Diabolic, Anabolic, Jm production and so on. They already update with some of their content but if they weren't spending money on all the crap then they would have more to go after those better studios.

I respect your opinion but you are way off on your info about there being plenty of other similar sites out there. The only site that comes close to equaling VB is VideosZ and they don't even have has many movies has VB. What they have is more movies from certain studios and I wouldn't be surprised if each of them has a certain number of exclsuif movies as well.
Mind you if you can't download the content then it really doesn't matter how much a site has or how greta it is.

I agree with you and maybe the death of Megaupload is part of the reason why. They may have gotten a lot more members since all the Mega guys had to get their porn somewhere and this is probably the least expensive way to do that.
Hopefully they is only temporary because you will get a lot of more pissed off people if this last for a long time.

That damn Regional pricing crap. If you're going to advertise 15$ than make sure it converts to the equivalent in whichever currency the customer is paying. Mind you even at 15 Pounds it's still a steal. I still buy dvd's and most of these are 20$ and above.

Is your score in large part because of the crappy download speeds because 50 seems like a really low score for a site that is a leader. I agree that there are many other DVD sites on the net but none compare to Videobox when it comes to content and it's not just a question of quantity but of the number of studios that choose to make their large librairies available.
No offense but there is no way that Videobox can be considered reasonably priced when the cost to join is 15$ for 11,000 movies.

Thanks for the review. That interface sucks real bad. I'm sure I would have thought that I'd clicked on the wrong link if I hadn't read your review. I'm all for improving a site when there are some serious problems but I don't consider this upgarde a improvement.

I thougth you meant kink.com so my comment were in regards to that network. They don't offer their content on DVD. You can stream it on a couple of sites but it's not the newer stuff and streaming means you pay per the minute so you can make a lot of money that way. A one time membership like videobox is guaranteed to kill your profits.
I consider Private a dead studio because they don't really make new content as much as repackage old stuff. Harmony is still active although I see less stuff as well from them.

I'd be very surpise if you see any kink content on videobox. They are notorious for never having released any DVD of their web shoots. As far as I know there is only one DVD that contains material from their Ultimate Surrender site and it's older content.
I think it would be pretty shortsided for any website to post most of their content on a site like Videobox. Although videobox gets more customers. The payback would make the venture a guaranteed loss of income. I think that except for Vivid and Evil Angel, most of the content on videobox is from dead studios. I'm sure there a exceptions but not many.

I could also put up with new and flashy if there was actual intent to make a good porn movie. That is not the case. I've heard the arguments back and forth that it's this or it's that but in the end. I'm left with the feeling that it's a lack of actual talent behind the camera. Most of the guys directing porn today couldn't get a job directing traffic. The guys in the 70's and 80's had to have talent because they understood that a sex film without a story was a basic little loop film. Great for backrooms but it was never going to sell tickect in a theater. I think many have forgotten that there were porn theaters and you needed a product that would attract a wide range of customers so gonzo style would never have made any money to the theater ownwers and these were the people that made you money. VHS and Beta kind of killed porn theaters but they were still being made by the same people so these guys wanted to make a decent product.
I'm not jaded about all porn. I'm just jaded about crappy new porn. I can still watch Seka, Arcadia Lake, Lysa Tatcher,Veronica Hart and all those women that made porn fun to watch.

There is no way to prove it but I think that a large part of why so many updates on Videobox are new content is because it just didn't sell very well and this is a way for them to make some cash with it.
If the movies were so great then why would they offer them on a site like Videobox who charges so little to download it?
I think you and I have a affinity for older porn and since most new updates at Videobox are not that then why stay. I still visit from time to time and I suspect at some point I will join again but I don't want to download crappy porn simply because it's new and flashy.

I've joined videobox a couple of times but I never stayed for very long. The first time was the best because I had access to all this amazing content which would have costed me hundreds and probably thousands or dollars if I had bought it in DVD's.
I can't say that I didn't get my moneys worth but once you downloaded what you liked then all you have left is what new content they add. This is where I find that a long term membership is not worth it. I've noticed that a great amount of the newer content is barely 5 to 10 yrs old. That might be the reason why you thinks it's blech! I know that I do. If Videobox brought older content from the 80's and early 90's then I would have a different opinion.

Since this is my first time then, I'm pleased with their content.
So much so that I will probably keep my membership for an extra month. This will be the first time I do that(at least on purpose).
I do agree with your March 29 conment that although they are on top. They will have to add a lot more variety if they want to keep their existing members. I find the addition of Evil Angel's and Vivid's movies to be a good step in that direction. They need to make more deals with more studios to get access to their content.
I will gladly pay more for a greater variety of content, but in return I will not pay for crappy movies. I just checked and from the last 20 movies added: 2 are Vivid, 1 is EA, and maybe half of the others are worth a quick look at. If my math is good then that means that under my current membership only 8 movies are worth it.
