I have been having the same problem messmer. I mainly use VB2 and it's not even showing up part of the time. Also having to download 5-6 files at one time to get a decent download speed.
I went with "other" for a couple of reasons. One, I hate download limits of any kind. My first "punished" review was of Kink's Ultimate Surrender back in 2007 or so, where I removed 20 points because they had a 10 GB per month limit. I probably wouldn't have been that upset if I hadn't run out of GB limit before even downloading, all of the star of the site's content, Dragon Lily. Of course, 10 GB per month was just crazy. Reality Kings back then had a 1 GB per day limit which was nearly as bad. Bang Bros always said they have a 500 MB per day limit, but I never ran into it.
I have wondered about some sites lately like Reality Kings who had a Year End Blowout, $9.95 "trial" deal through freeones in December. As others had shown me with Naughty America, they use the 1st month low price of $9.95 and list it as a trial. I never downloaded enough on NA to find out if these trial low price first month memberships were limited. Which if so, could explain Reality Kings making their limit active again. I am almost positive that the freeones deals reverted back to the regular price after the first month, unlike most of the TBP deals that allow you to keep the discounted price throughout the course of your membership as long as you let it recur. Just a thought since we all know how nearly all porn sites can be these days when it comes to trying to get a large number of new members at one time.
The reason I picked "other" though, my cable internet company sent me a postcard this time last year that said I had gone over the 100 GB per month download/upload bandwith limit. Which I had no idea I had a limit. Once I showed them that I wasn't doing anything illegal with the bandwith like file sharing, they backed off and told me not to worry about the "limit" but did show me where AT&T U-Verse internet has a bandwith limit listed in their terms, Charter internet had one in their terms and Comcast internet had one in their terms.
They do seem to be pulling away from it though. If however the Internet Providers do start limiting how much bandwith we can use and the number varied in those I saw from 100-250 GB a month, it wouldn't make it that unrealistic for sites to start limiting since we could only download theoretically 3-8 GB per day based on those internet provider limits. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I would think if it does, there isn't much other choice available but to accept it.
It does somewhat. I'm sure Shap, formerly of Twistys, helped his site's case with an open mind to criticism and friendly disposition to even those who were being critical. On the other hand, I've known a few webmasters, won't mention her name, that put their site on a blacklist for me just because of her attitude. I tried and tried to give that site a chance since I did find her attractive and found the niche she did interesting, but couldn't talk myself into joining it. Others, especially the big sites, I don't expect much interaction from them and look over their lack of interest in opinion from their members as long as they keep delivering the content that brought me to the site in the first place.
I had meant to get back to you on the wording in the terms, but the holiday got in the way. My terms say the same as yours and I think you might have nailed it when you said "A site can certainly impose whatever conditions they want, but those conditions should be clear and applied equally to all members." While I like that RK doesn't seem to ever impose the limit on my account, it looks bad on the ones of us that review a site or post a comment that says no download limit then they impose it on others. Even worse is when they let me download unlimited. Let you download less than 10 GB per day one day then let you download much more the next. I have tried to figure up some kind of rhyme or reason for how their DL limit works, but I can't.
And the type of models is another reason PU works so well, if members read multiple reviews. I was ready to be blown away by Teen Mega World after so many high reviews only to be letdown because nearly all the models were slim. RK, on the other hand, as you're seeing is full of curvy women, which is more my preference.
I definitely would for a month and have several times. Raven Riley's site is a good example. Her site is worth even the $30 price to get all the content she has on it.
I had meant to reply to this earlier since you may collect Lana. I wouldn't have believed it, but I found a very explicit set of Lana at Kink's Fucking Machines, really surprised me seeing Lana on there, but the set was worth more than this whole solo site was. Also found 3 lesbian sets of her on Brazzers which I wouldn't have expected either. For some reason I always had a problem with confusing Lana Lopez and Luna Lane so I first thought those were Luna, but they are Lana including maybe the "cutest" femdom set with Lana dominating Ella Milano. I think sites could at least give a model list with number of sets even without samples, just to let a potential member know who all is on the site and how many scenes. I'll join it eventually, but it probably has been pushed back another 2-3 months at least.
Yeah, I agree about the wiggle room. Someone else had posted that they were told by RK that the limit was between 60-70 big files per day. I have tried hitting it the last two days, but can't. I tried the same thing I had asked you about, downloading the biggest files possible, 48 GB one day, 62 the next. I'm now even wondering about location you download from since I'm not that advanced in technology, I wouldn't know if longer distances cause more stress on servers. Either way, they have always been loose about their rules. To put it in perspective, over 4 memberships this year, I have the entire sites, 8th Street Latinas, We Live Together, In the VIP, CFNM Secret, Mike in Brazil and Mike's Apartment, just add the newest updates when they come out and randomly add from the other sites when it's a model I like. And this too is my lack of technology understanding, but comes from my experience buying hard drives. Amount of gigabytes are rounded or never are the number we see. Seems like member Justme explained it in the forum one time, something about binary numbers, technical gibberish that I don't put forth the effort to fully understand.
Last thing, you may be onto something with the part about downloading from them everyday. I only have 3 days a week that I download and even then I sometimes have more than one site membership, so it could be that my limit, since not downloading sometimes for as many as 6 days in a row, builds up, if it's cumulative. And if I look at my RK folder on my external, it is a total of close to 1 TB this year. Four memberships 10 GB per day x 30 days = 300 GB per membership or 1.2 TB. I'll try a few more times over the next 2 weeks of this membership and see how much it lets me download.
Do you ever have trouble with Media Player Classic Home Cinema requesting updates? I like it as well as I do VLC, mainly because I like the spot zoom feature, but it keeps telling me to update Direct X June 2010 or something like that.
On a past related note, I was messing with VLC the other day and had it open a second window that had full controls while in full screen on the on the other screen. Have no clue had I did it. I remember we talked about that feature before. I haven't tried it lately, in-laws are in for the holidays, but I am thinking I pushed one of the number pad buttons since I was seeing if I could make VLC zoom like Media Player Classic does.
And on the poll, I picked VLC since I use it the most.
I'm curious about something. Are you downloading HD videos? I'm a member right now and wasn't even testing it, just general downloading, and downloaded the entire CFNM Secret site. I separated them by model so I don't have a definite number, but I know it had to be upwards of 100 GB total, but there is one catch, I do not download any of the HD videos. In the old days of the download limit, it was only imposed on the "big" files. Those are now the basic wmv files, 640-720 high end res on those videos. I still just download those. I'm wondering since it did used to be specified as "big" if the HD ones have now become a part of the limit instead of the basic .wmv ones?
Either that or maybe it's because I sign up through their promo emails from being a member off and on since 2007-08. The old block didn't even work that way. Used to you would get a message that said "you have reached your daily limit of "big" files" but you could continue to access, you could even download the parts of videos and pictures. Check that out one day and see if they are imposing it on the basic .wmv full scenes. Maybe it's a perk of signing up through their emails?
I'm not trying to sway you away from the RK channel, but it's very limited compared to the RK site. Using the TBP price, there isn't that much difference in the RK channel and the actual site. I know there has been some talk about RK's download limits, but believe me when I say they are not that bad. I have photos on imageshack of folders I downloaded a few months ago from RK. I did 5 days in a row, averaging 64 GB a day and didn't hit a limit once. I don't know if the limit is now on HD but I don't download their HD clips since they are long anyway, 30-45 minutes. A few years back, RK was pretty strict on DL limits, but they really have loosened up on them.
I have been intrigued by the Kink channel too. Though I don't really go for the harder content, I have always liked Ultimate Surrender, Public Disgrace and Fucking Machines. Plus I like anything with Dragon Lily in it and it seems like she is on several of their sites I haven't been on. Glad you mentioned that about prorating the price. I didn't know they did that. I may have to give the Kink channel a one week try the next time I join VB.

Mine would have been in the late 80s. I vaguely remember my uncle having a Rubix Cube like object, but instead of colored squares it had female bodyparts.
