Yeah, I see that now. I was looking for a pre-checked box. The drop-down menu is sort of camouflaged on the top banner. It really bugs me to make a rookie mistake like this.
I sometimes think that I should only do business with sites that use top-tier billers like Epoch and CC Bill but I can't bring myself to do that.

I 'discovered' a new shady billing practice that I haven't seen before. And by 'discovered' I mean that I got burned by it. I joined Bad daddy POV yesterday and scoured the join page for a pre-checked cross-sell and didn't see one so I proceeded. I checked my email later and saw I was signed up for a subscription to James Deen Celebrities. It's a free three-day trial and then it will bill at $30. Unfortunately it bills through a biller that has no automated cancellation page so I have to rely on them cancelling the trial before it gets billed the full price.
I went back to the Bad Daddy POV join page and this wasn't even a pre-checked cross-sell. It appears that there is no way to join BD POV without also getting the James Deen site too.
This is a whole new level of scam.

An interesting review of an unusual site.
Two years ago I joined a similar site called Naked Gym Girls and my reaction was mostly like your reaction to this site. The only difference was that I joined NGG to get additional stuff from two models I was (or still am) obsessed with. Like you I thought the site probably wasn't worth it for anyone casually dropping in.

This is bad news but thanks for posting it. I'm no fan of download limits but I can understand having a reasonable one. In 2019 with some files being over 5GB depending on resolution the 10GB limit is most definitely NOT reasonable.
In what other business is it a normal practice to shit all over your paying customers?

The only time I had something similar was a few years ago when I was joining a Playboy site. There are several of them and I don't recall which one it was. It was utter crap though. (I didn't know that going in.) I intended to join for a month but due to some deception (that, admittedly I should have seen had I been paying more attention) I ended up buying a full year. I immediately discovered this after joining and contacted the site and biller. I purposely didn't view or download anything while I was trying to get a refund. The staff at TBP intervened too but nothing worked. The attitude was 'we have your money and we ain't giving it back.' The lesson I learned was to pay more attention.

I have bought annual subscriptions before that and since and been happy with them. I once bought an annual membership to Amateur Allure because that site was and remains in my Top-5 favourites and because it was a great deal. If AA offered a similar deal I'd jump at it again. (Are you listening Amateur Allure?) I also signed on to Hookup Hotshot for an annual membership. That too is a favourite site and the deal was too good to refuse. I have a great deal now on a recurring monthly HUHS membership so I just let that keep running.
I guess I have no idea what point I was trying to make other than I empathize with you.

Thanks for mentioning this. I'll look around and see if I can find a deal. Obviously I've avoided joining Naughty America since they started messing with their memberships so now might be the time to rejoin. It baffles me why in a time when piracy is rampant and causing huge losses a site would fuck over the few people still willing to pay for porn.

I'm sure that I'm not the only person pleased that their attempt at a new subscription model failed miserably. I predicted that it would last only as long as it took for the people who don't read porn forums to buy subscriptions and realize they got screwed.
Thanks for posting this update. I'll probably rejoin NA but I'll be sure to do so at the full price to get access to as much content as possible.

I read on another forum that they've recently scrapped their new model that required subscribing to individual 'channels' at a high cost and went back to their old model of one subscription gets you access to everything. I take it from your comment that this isn't your experience?
I'm a big fan of the site but there's no way I'll rejoin until they fix their billing model.

Naughty America was on my list of sites I'd regularly join. I really like a lot of what they produce. But... based on what you guys are saying it looks like a new subscription won't happen until at least there is more information available or Naughty America gives up and goes back to the old model. Or maybe this will just kill them after a while once everyone who isn't aware of the changes joins without the knowledge of the changes.
I get that the porn business is changing and that it is getting hard to make a profit these days, but crap like this will only make paying for porn even more rare.

Your reply sounds like either an apology or a justification and neither is needed. Sites change and our tastes change. I can only imagine what nasty things I'd have written about Burning Angel had I joined a year ago rather than after my 'conversion' to some limited interest in tattoos.
I don't think you took my comments this way, but to be clear, I wasn't accusing you of being too subjective. Subjectivity plays a role in any review, even the ones done by the staff at TBP, but a good reviewer looks past their likes and dislike and gives an objective review. You did just that in both your reviews and scored the site differently. No big deal. In both cases the reviews were written by an objective person who was writing about his experiences with the site at that time.
Both reviews were great and I'd rely on both in making a decision to join the site if I had no personal history with it.

Excellent review! Like you, I was surprised at how much I like this network knowing that it really does promote 'enhanced' models. I was also interested to note that you've increased your score a full 10 points since you last reviewed the network which is another indication how they've improved over the past years.

I never add the pre-checked cross-sells as a negative but I should. There is nothing positive about them, that's for sure. I have no problem with an offer that I actually have to accept, but I do wish that sites would realize how negatively they're perceived by active buyers. I've been burned a few times too...
