An excellent review, as always.
My opinion of EA is pretty much the same as yours though I may have scored it a little higher if I wrote a new review. Like you, I appreciate that they give access to their back catalogue of classics. I'm also a big fan of their early stuff.
As much as I like EA (and I usually join it regularly and have kept a recurring membership for long stretches too) I've been rejoining less frequently these days. I think the biggest reason for that is that Mike Adriano left EA a little while ago and moved to Jules Jordan. That's probably a big loss for EA.
Two other minor things that people reading your review should know: while Bryan Gozzling's scenes from Hookup Hotshot are available at EA they are edited. The EA versions, because they are released on DVD, have the more extreme parts removed. However, for people who don't want to see watersports or models spitting up during a blowjob the EA versions are probably the way to go. Finally, while I am not 100% sure on this I think the BAM Visions videos are lightly edited for EA too. I now get my BAM fix directly through their site.

I haven't been a member there in about three weeks but I've had no problem with the names. Maybe it's a temporary thing or maybe it has something to do with your download manager.
But... now that I think of it, they changed their file naming away from numbers maybe 18 months ago. Prior to that it was all meaningless numbers. It may be that you are downloaded files that pre-dated the new naming protocol. Try a recent file and see if that fixes the problem.

This may be a UK or EU (or international) issue. In Canada and in the US Evil Angel has its own billing company. They aren't the best in the business (because you have to jump through a few hoops to cancel) but I've dealt with them enough to trust them.
Here's a solution for you - move to the Colonies! :-)

Just adding my two cents here...
I'm a regular (and current) subscriber to Evil Angel and have never encountered this issue. As others mentioned, there is often a pre-checked cross-sell but it is always to another site owned by the same parent company. It's on the right of the screen as you enter your credit card information.
Also, EA uses any of several proprietary billers but I think all have the name 'Fame' in there. Famecare and Famebilling are the two most common.
I will admit that it is possible that because you seem to be in Europe that maybe there is a different biller. But it does appear that you have been phished. I've never seen this site as a cross-sell.

I checked the resolution of the 480p scenes and they come in at 720x400 with a bitrate of 1200 and 29 fps. For comparison, the 360p scenes are 640x356 with a bitrate of 1200. The 540p scenes are 960x544 with a bitrate of 1800.
For comparison I took a random scene and downloaded it in those three resolutions to compare file size in case that's an issue for you. Both the 360p and the 480p scenes were 329MB and the 540p was 492MB. This was just a random scene and I only include that to give you a comparison of the relative sizes between the different resolutions.
One thing that seemed odd was that the file size for the 360p and the 480p scenes was the same so I check other random scenes on the site and found that occurs frequently. I'm not sure why that is and I wouldn't speculate on a reason.
If you want more specs please reply to this comment and I'll see if i can get any specific information you're looking for.

You beat me to it! I came here to post this because if Evil Angel had one easily-fixed issue this would be it. And I don't mean to imply that they have bigger issues that need fixing, because they don't. This change makes a great site more user-friendly.
Full marks to EA for listening to their members.

Agreed. I'd be lying if I said I never joined a site through an email offer or through Idealgasm, but the offer has to be far better than what TBP/PU offers, and that doesn't happen often. I find that most offers I get are matched here at TBP and I'll always join through here to ensure that the primary funding source is alive and well.
Two other things about Idealgasm that are worth noting:
1) they offer deals on the same sites, over and over. It seems rare that a new discount is offered, unlike here at TBP/PU where new discounts are always being added;
2) Idealgasm offers no way for users to comment on the deals and potentially warn other users of possible problems. I joined a network through Idealgasm a few weeks ago and the deal was sold as full access but it actually only gave access to two of the network sites. If that happened here at TBP/PU a member would have made a comment and warned other potential subscribers away and the TBP/PU staff would have found out what was going on.
All that to say that I completely agree with you.

I'm with you on Mike Adriano. Until recently he was probably my favorite director but I find his scenes have become stale. He has it in him to be innovative but lately all his scenes, regardless of the series, look the same. I still think they're great and I download anything he puts out but I do wish he'd get his edge back.

I agree with pat. I've joined EA through TBP / PU several times and I'm also on their mailing list. There are times when I can have 10 or more emails from them with the same offer. While it can be a bit annoying, some of the offers are unbeatable (like the seven days for $5) so I just delete the duplicates.
You can probably get deleted from their mailing list but that would also end the offers. They (along with many other Fame Network sites) are constantly making decent offers.

I've been meaning to ask a question about all the Evil Angel BTS/outtakes scenes because I first noticed maybe six or eight months ago that they were locked. That seemed odd to me since all they were are fluff. It never occurred to me that I needed to upgrade. That is certainly some serious nickel and diming!

I'm with you on being a big fan of EA (and their related 'network' of sites - see Mike Adriano, for example). These sites represent some of the best value on the 'net. Some (perhaps you too) join in spite of the anal, I join because of it. Also, their HD quality is exceptional. I'm downloading 1920x1280 stuff from other sites that doesn't have the same crispness and clarity that EA has.
One point of disagreement, while it may seem like a month that streaming is the only option, it is probably closer to a week. I just wrapped up memberships to EA and the related network and it might even be as low as four or five days. It may depend on the scene too, I don't know. It is frustrating, but only REALLY frustrating when your one month membership is set to expire in three days and they upload a scene you really, really want and you know it won't be downloadable until after your membership expires. But that's likely their point anyway.
For me, EA is the new Videobox. I used to join VB every six months but now EA is the site I join over and over and over. Keep an eye on your email because there will be offers for other great sites from them too.

I have a membership there now and tried it. I use Internet Download Manager. It works fine for me and my download speeds are near 7MB/s, which is fast and what I'm used to seeing from the site. One issue that all Fame Digital sites have is a fairly short link time-out.
I can't offer a solution, but I can say that I can't reproduce the problem.

Hodayathink is correct - many, probably most, but not all.
RustyJ pointed out that they have an offer for former members for $10 for a month and that included the other Evil Angel site. You can find the other one through Milk Enema or Mike Adriano. At that price join both. There is some overlap, but not that much and you'll get better access to their catalogue. If you haven't been a member before you might be able to join a mailing list and get the offer. But since they are part of Fame Digital you may have had a membership at a site before and still have the offer. It's worth checking your inbox.

Thanks for pointing this out Rusty. I'm just about at the one-month mark on an Evil Angel membership and was going to cancel but was given the same offer when I tried to cancel, so I took it. I did get the email though, so others should too.
The sites are different though there is some overlap. I've reviewed Evil Angel in the past and still think it is among the best sites on the 'net. I've also reviewed the other one through the Milk Enema site. That review and others may answer more of your questions.
At $10 each though I'd recommend joining both.

Yes I did - thanks for that and I meant to reply. I'm coming to the end of a few memberships and rather than trying to fix FDM now I'm just using IDM while I have the free trial. Once my memberships expire I plan to follow your advice and try to find the problem. IDM works well and I've discovered how to do what I want with it but I'm reluctant to spend the $25 to licence it when free software will do everything I need. When I get started on the repair I may have to check in with you.

I use Free Download Manager successfully on the site. I use it to queue up downloads. The only problem is that the links seem to go dead fairly quickly so I can't load more than five or six files at one time. As for speed, I didn't have a problem.
Free Download Manager has stopped working for me and until I can figure out what went wrong I'm using a trial of Internet Download Manager. IDM worked fine on a sister site.

I'll admit that the cause could be a problem on their site, but try clearing your history and cookies first. I've joined both Evil Angel sites multiple times, I've joined related sites, and recently joined a new site in this group (Reality Junkies) and the discount worked for me.
These are amazing sites. Don't give up now!

There might be one other possibility for you to find what you're looking for. Evil Angel has two websites. You're at the Evil Angel one, but if you go to Mike Adriano here that will link you to a separate EA site. The second site has a little, but not much overlap with the first one, so you might find what you're looking for there. Like the main EA site, the second one has a $9.95 TBP join price so it is an amazing value. And like the main EA site you're able to see all they have to offer without joining so you can tell if the title you want is there.

I'm in full agreement. I wouldn't need a discount to access properly remastered older porn. My favourites are from the 80s and early 90s, but I'd be happy to explore older than that too.
