You'd think that given the anticipation for FTVX that Rob would invest in some help to get it up and running sooner rather than later. This site has been creating buzz for over a year now and I'm sure once it goes live it'll get a huge number of memberships immediately. Rob is sitting on a gold mine and I'm sure he knows that.

I hadn't read that Rob is now talking September. That gives me some hope that this project isn't dead.
When the site launches I won't be surprised if the server crashes or the download speeds are terrible for the first while since there is so much anticipation about the site. The could also be a problem - so many people have such high expectations that some people may not be happy.

Like you. I'm a huge fan of the public nudity that they do. There aren't many US sites that push this limit any more. I join here pretty much just for the public nudity with some of the best looking models around.
Also like you, I'm wondering what happened to the promise of FTVX. I've been waiting for that like a six-year-old waits for Christmas but I'm beginning to wonder if this is a bit of a unicorn. I registered for updates when the option was available but I don't think I've ever actually had an update. Rob, the site owner, keeps saying that FTVX is real on another forum but I'm skeptical.

I'm a fan of this site, and while I scored it much higher I do agree with a lot of what you wrote. It can get a bit repetitive, but that can occur in any niche, and usually does where there is one type of scene. I also agree that while some models thrive without direction, others could use more.
I'm a fan of exhibitionist stuff and FTV does that well. In most cases, I won't join a site that only offers the scenes as smaller clips, but here it works for them. I have no interest in the solo masturbation part of the scene so I don't need to download it. Likewise, if someone doesn't like the exhibitionist stuff they can avoid that.
Overall, what carries the site is the quality of the models they hire.

Thanks for the clarifications. I'm not a big fan of masturbation videos but I can understand that the ones here might get a bit boring.
And re the download manager issue, I'd normally only queue up 10 or 20 videos at the same time and I have a fast connection so I didn't experience any timeouts. They can be frustrating though. One group of sites I join a lot used to have a timeout of less than 5 minutes. Thankfully they did fix that.

I've been a member here several times and used both Free Download Manager and Internet Download Manager with no problems. I hope the site hasn't changed this. Have you tried contacting the site?
I'm the complete opposite of you in that I like the public stuff and avoid the masturbation parts. I normally don't like it when a site breaks a scene into parts but with this site it works because a member can download what they want and leave what they don't.
One thing I'm confused about with your comment is that there are only some masturbation videos. My recollection is that there was masturbation in every video. I was a member there are recently as five months ago and recall that every video started with some outdoor video (with varying amounts of public nudity) and then moved indoors for masturbation. Is it possible that you're only watching the first videos with the public stuff and not going to the following videos with the masturbation?
I hope you get the download manager thing sorted out.

Thanks for adding that clarification on the photos. I don't normally download photos so I checked a few to give the specs for the review and must have hit all ones that offered the higher resolution.
Like you, I think one of the draws of the site is that a lot of the models aren't found anywhere else. I also like, as I noted in my review, that some who get a start here go on to be big-name porn stars and we get to see them at the beginning of their careers when they're still innocent. I suspect that since the site is primarily a softcore site and seems to treat the models well is one of the main reasons that they're able to attract so many first-timers.

Some may disagree with me on this assessment, but I see FTV Girls as serving two completely different niches within one site. They focus on public nudity and on solo girl masturbation. There are other niches (some girl/girl and some rare hardcore) but the majority of the scenes contain the two main niches that the site serves. There is a limitation to my review in that while I’m a huge fan of public nudity I’m not a big fan of solo girl stuff, so most of what I downloaded was the public stuff. I think it’s reasonable to assume that if the public stuff is of such high quality that a prospective member who likes solo masturbation scenes would be equally happy with a membership.
The site has been around for 10 years now and continues to offer high quality exclusive scenes. Right from day one this site had high production values with good lighting, camera work and editing. The site now has 839 scenes uploaded and updates with one (sometimes two) scenes being added per week. Some may say that the update rate isn’t enough, but when you consider the effort that goes into these scenes I think the once-a-week update is pretty impressive.
The site itself is well laid out and simple to use. The scenes are laid out 30 per page and each scene opens into a separate page. On that scene’s page there are links for the videos (two or more) and the photos. Each of those opens into a separate page with the download options. On newer scenes there are obviously more options with the scenes being HD in both WMV and mp4, in SD in either format and in two formats for mobile devices. The file size is shown too. I downloaded the HD mp4 videos and they come in at 1920x1080, 12,000kb/s and 30fps. The older HD videos have the same specs except the bitrate is about 8,000kb/s.
You can also sort by model and there is a search function and extensive use of tags. (One great advantage of the tags is that it allows the member to do some pre-sorting. I was here for public nudity and there was a tag for that.)
The site was an early adopter of HD video bringing it in in December 2007. The SD videos offered before that come in at 720x480, 1,200kb/s and 25fps.
One thing I liked about the layout was that when you opened the page for a specific video there are thumbnails of the photos on the same page which allows a bit of a preview to help you decide if you want the scene or not.
Photos are available and look great. Obviously the photo size has grown over the years with the latest being offered as either 1600 or 4000 pixel downloads. Zips are available.
An interesting facet of the site is that since it is so high quality and has been around so long it affords an opportunity to see A-list stars before they were stars, and in many cases under different names. Amia Miley appears as Ileana, for example. Christie Lee and Kelly Wells make early appearances. There are quite a few big models who appeared here early in their careers. Something that may be unique is the 2006 shoot of Brianna Love (as Brianna) when she is 8 months pregnant.
I joined specifically for the public nudity. In my opinion, public nudity is either very good or very bad. When done wrong all the heat is removed. FTV does it right: the public parts of their shoots are really well done. I use Teasers VOD as the gold standard of public nudity due to its high risk and intense heat. FTV isn’t up to that standard but it is still excellent and any fan of the genre won’t be disappointed. I should also point out the flaw in comparing this site to Teasers: Teasers was so risky that the City of L.A. shut them down. I’ll accept the less in-your-face public scenes in FTV as a trade-off for more scenes being shot.
Notwithstanding the above, this is NOT just a public nudity site. Most videos have some public nudity and that’s followed by an indoor scene with masturbation. While I normally prefer the option to download an entire video, the fact that the shoot is broken into segments really fits well here. I just want the public stuff and that’s in a stand-alone video. Same with the solo stuff. I liked that the scenes are not sterile. The model’s personality is allowed to shine through. Some may not like that the cameraman interacts with the model in the scene, but I think it adds to the heat.
There is a lot of “BTS” material available too for those of us who like that. It’s located under the “Extras” tab.
Download managers work on the site and I had no problem with using one.
If there is a downside to FTV it is likely that some people who like variety in their models may not be satisfied. The models are almost exclusively Caucasian, 18-22 and slim. Don’t join looking for 30+ BBW black women. I like what they offer, and I’m a satisfied customer.
The bottom line is that this is an excellent site that does a great job of offering material for different interests. The material is great and it is easy to access. I recommend a membership. |

An excellent review. I'm not much into softcore but this is one softcore site that I like and go back to. I am, however, a big fan of public nudity and as you point out, this site does that well. I'm glad to hear that they're still doing some public stuff since so many other American producers are shying away from it due to the proliferation of security cameras and the rise of neo-puritanism.

Great review, exotics, as usual.
I joined this site in 2009 and was amazed at how great it was then. One of the things I really enjoyed about the site then was that they did so much public nudity. I know the site doesn't market itself as a public nudity site but they could have given the volume of it that they had. Apart from the public stuff I didn't download all the segments for each model as I'm just not that into solo stuff. I don't think I've rejoined since 2009 but maybe I'll head back and have a look.
Quick question: does the stuff posted after in 2010 and newer have much public nudity in it? Back in 2009 the webmaster wrote that the number of security cameras being used now was making public stuff a dying breed.

That all makes sense. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I suspect that a big part of the reason why we think differently about this site is that you prefer pictures and I prefer video. And I should point out that I usually only download the public/outdoor segments of the videos, so I guess that's me saying that the rest is a little uninspiring too.
Your explanation of the photo shoots being technically good but artistically lacking makes perfect sense to me. Whether or not a reader agrees with that assessment, it is still a valid opinion.
But, as you say, we agree on one thing: the models are stunning. Maybe my problem is I tend to be too subjective when reviewing the site and let that get in the way of some objectivity. Hmmmm... that's something for me to think about. We're all going to have a different subjective reaction to a site, but reviews are probably better staying objective.

I haven't been a member at FTV Girls for over a year, but I definitely intend to go back soon. I agree with some of your comments that the navigation and overall feel of the site are a bit dated, and I wish it could be improved. But... the site itself is relatively simple so the limited navigation isn't as bad as it would be on a DVD site, for example. I'm more a video guy but I do download some pictures. I don't remember being disappointed in the quality of the videos or the pictures, and I see in my first review of the site that I noted the download speeds were okay. Maybe there was something slowing the speeds down for a while.
For me though, I'm a big fan of this site because of the models. The small FTV team seems to have a great eye (admittedly their taste is the same as mine) and they shoot them well too. I have almost zero interest in glamour, solo and masturbation sites, but sites like FTV Girls and ALS Scan do that so well with stunningly beautiful women that they are among my all-time favourite sites on the internet.
Two of the great things about this board are that there is a diversity of opinion, and that diversity is respected. I'll admit that I haven't been a member at FTV Girls for over a year, and I respect your opinion, but I suspect that both objectively and subjectively it deserves better than a 65 score. Please don't take offence to that, it isn't meant that way.
Not to add insult to injury, but consider giving more detail in your reviews. For both video and pictures it would be helpful to know resolutions and file sizes. That would give your readers a better understanding of what you mean.
Finally, welcome to the board. Please don't take anything I've written as a criticism because it isn't meant that way. I hope you stay around and contribute lots more. I think you'll find the board a great resource and the forum is a great place to swap information too.

Thanks for clarifying that a key assumption that I made was wrong, namely that the public nudity on your site is ‘staged’ in that you have some arrangements with a resort. I made that assumption based on the large number of nude outdoor scenes made there, and that was an incorrect assumption. My apologies for making the incorrect assumption and I’ve edited my review to remove that.
I will say that now knowing that you don’t ‘cheat’ with the public stuff I’ve got a better appreciation of your site. I understand that given the current political and religious climate in the U.S. that any public nudity involves a lot of personal risk for the models and the staff. I agree with you that the EU sites have the ability to appear to push the envelope a lot more, but knowing that it isn’t really pushing the envelope due to the more liberal views of sexuality in the EU takes away a lot of the excitement found in viewing an American site. Now knowing that you don’t ‘stage’ or pre-arrange the public stuff raises it to a whole different level.
While I understand your dismay in having just one facet of your site reviewed, I tried to make it very clear that my review was only for someone looking at it from that perspective. I really liked your site – the models are stunning and you present them in ways that really show them off well. I give you full credit for that. My intention though, was to get the message out to others who may be like me: having no real interest in solo girl sites, but liking public nudity. I think that anyone who reads my review and wants public nudity will be more apt to consider a membership knowing that there is both quantity and quality.

This is my first review of a site that I probably shouldn’t have joined, but I’ll be objective. I have no real interest in solo-girl masturbation sites. All my other reviews are of sites that I had an interest in. The reason I joined was for the advertised public nudity. My review will focus primarily on that for anyone who has the same interest.
As other reviewers have noted, there is a lack of variety with the models. For people like me who like FTV Girls’ taste in models, this isn’t an issue, but for those who like some variety this may be a negative. There is a lack of variety is scene set-up too. Most models start outside with a little flashing and then move indoors for some masturbation. Some models are more playful and do more outdoor flashing and some outdoor masturbation too.
My reason for joining FTV Girls was because it appeared that there was a lot of public nudity. This is an under-served niche and though the site was not something I’d join otherwise, I joined to see the public stuff.
The public stuff is certainly there in quantity. Most of the models do some public flashing. As a public nudity site (and I realize that this isn’t specifically such) this is pretty tame, but well within industry norms for U.S. sites. Obviously all the models will have differing levels of daring when it comes to public nudity. A few are quite daring, a few won’t do it, and the majority do some. For most models, the extent of their public flashing isn’t all that public – they dress in skimpy clothes and flash for the camera on side streets and empty parks. A few – very few – are as daring as the best of the public nudity sites on the web.
Many of the public nudity scenes are shot in the same area, which might lead one to presume that they are staged and have the support of the property owners. If you presume that, please take note of the webmaster’s comments below: these scenes are not staged. In my opinion, having the outdoor scenes as spontaneous as this is the essence of a good public nudity site.
One thing that would normally be a big negative for me is actually a positive here. The scenes are broken down into several smaller files. I normally despise that, but if all you’re looking for is the public stuff, that works out in your favor. One added thing that is DEFINITELY a negative is that at the beginning of every file there is a title screen. When you link several clips the action gets interrupted by a two-second title screen every few minutes. The site really needs to think about fixing this. Surely a watermark is enough to identify your material.
If you’re a fan of public nudity and have run through the sites that specialize in that, FTV Girls is worth a look. There is a lot of material here, and it is well done too. Public nudity (done in the U.S.) isn’t well served, and FTV Girls adds some quality stuff to the available material. |
