Thanks for your answer. Once the pop up is transparent over the text this will be a useful feature. As I've said before, the only regret I have in joining your site is that I didn't do it long ago.

Informative review! I have to admit that this is one of the few popular sites here that I haven't joined. Their confusing pricing scheme kept me away at first, but that's fixed now. So after reading positive reviews like your I think it might be time that I finally join.

I prefer WMV because I've yet to find a player that I like better than WM Player. I find the Apple player to be less useful and I find that VMC tends to pixilate a bit when you move the slider. But it does seem that more sites only offer HD is formats other than WMV.
I'm okay with the size - for now. My ISP doesn't have a download cap yet. I'm hoping that as time goes on and more and more users have increased downloads due to movies and TV that there will be pushback against download caps. But, ISP download caps appear to be only a Canadian problem.

Great review. I'm an active porn downloader and I've never joined this site. My reason was usually the fact that the membership was confusing but they've fixed that. Now I don't have a good reason to join. And learning from your review that the offer HD in WMV format makes it more likely that I'll join soon. So many sites seem to offer HD in mp4 format. Thanks for the information.

All indications are that the confusing membership is gone. I realize that there is still a risk, but I think I'm willing to take that risk now. Thanks for the info.

Excellent review. Thanks for all the information. Sometimes I think I'm the only regular here who has never been a member to this site. The reason I've never joined is the confusing membership. My concern was that I'd sign up for a specific site and find that I need to wait for three months to get it. When it comes to porn, I'm a bit impatient!
But your comment on the membership is the closest I've heard that the old 'structured' membership is gone and replaced with 'you get what you pay for' membership. I think it's probably safe for me to add this to the list now.

I've been thinking of joining this site but the pricing structure bothered me. But based on your review I'll just join and plan to stay for six months or more.
Thanks for the review.

I wondered the same and posted the question in the forum under the title "Need some advice on 21Sextury please" I don't know how to link the thread so you'll need to search the furum for it. I got some answers, but I have no idea if that may have changed in the couple of months since I asked the question.
I find their pricing model to be confusing...

I agree. It might be worth the risk is you were an anime fan, there was a full trial AND it billed through a reputable biller. But failing any one of those (and it fails all three for me), it is likely too risky.

Ouch! $39 a month seems a bit excessive, but maybe not if you're a fan of this niche.

I've been burned by similar sites. My guess is that Open Life tacks these 'solo' sites on so that can call themselves a network. I haven't been a member at Open Life in a while but I recall mostly liking it. (It's odd that I didn't review it though...)

I'm almost, but not quite there yet, to the point where I'll only join a site that uses a reputable biller with a track record for easy cancellations. Companies like CC Bill and Epoch (and some others) make it easy and convenient to cancel. If I see a site uses one of those sites I'm much more likely to join. And I'm also more likely to recommend that others join the site and to rejoin it myself.
Good luck!

Pros: |
- There is a lot of porn here in many different niches that isn't widely available elsewhere
- some availability of less mainstream porn like you'd find on Videobox
- download speeds are decent, I average high 200s KB/sec
- many sites offer options for file sizes
- DRMs seem to be all gone (and may they burn in hell for all eternity)
- No download limits
- the concept of one membership with access to many sites is great - if it worked |
Cons: |
- the prime site isn't too badly organized, but the sites that make up the network are so badly organized that some are almost unusable
- AB looks like it is a professionally run brokerage for sites thrown together by people who have no idea how to build a website
- AB has a good concept and it could work if they imposed standards
- there is a lot of duplication of scenes
- many links are dead or no longer updating but are still counted as part of the network |
Bottom Line: |
Let me state why I gave this site such a bad review even though it has a lot of great quality non-DRM porn on it. I don’t like to just pull random porn off the net. My preference is to look for scenes of certain stars. This site allows you to get lots of porn if your only criteria is ‘I’d like to see a scene of some large-breasted blonde doing anal.’ If you’re like me, however, and maybe want to find Star ABC in an anal scene, you’re mostly going to have to rely on luck.
To be fair to AB, they are just a broker for other sites. None of the sites have exclusive content, and most of the content can be found on several different sites. For AB’s part, navigation isn’t that bad. If you want a niche, use a pull-down menu and select it. Once you do that all the available sites that fall into that niche are shown. One problem here is that there seem to be a lot of dead links. Some sites haven’t updated in a while, but why wouldn’t AB take down the sites that simply no longer even exist?
It’s in the individual sites where things really fall apart. You might argue that AB can’t be blamed for that, but I don’t agree. AB oversees the sites and probably supplies most of the content, so why can’t they develop some standards and impose them?
Once you get into an individual site it is really a crap shoot as to how well it is organized. The best I’ve seen in there might rate a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. The worst are simply so frustrating that it’s best to just leave.
The biggest issue for me is that while all the sites have access to some great porn, many times it can simply be a crap shoot. If you want just any porn at all, click on a link and download something. What did you download? Maybe not what you thought you did. If you’re like me and don’t just want some essentially random stuff but are looking for specific movies, stars and scenes, you’re out of luck. I’ve not found a site yet that actually lists the performers with the scene. For some assistance I’ve used rame.net to get information and tried to narrow it down. Some sites use thumbnails, but I’ve found several examples where the thumbnails don’t match the scene. In one case I was on a site that had some movies I wanted but only the box cover was shown and then a list of numbered links. For example, on one site I found a movie that had a Leah Luv scene I wanted. Rame.net told me that it was scene 4, so without benefit of thumbnails I downloaded the file attached to link #4. It turned out though that that was actually scene 3 of the movie so I had downloaded a 350+MB file for nothing. After 3 tries I gave up without getting the scene I wanted. I did get a nice Naudia Nyce scene though – by accident.
Overall this is the most annoying site I have ever been a member of. My recommendation is that you spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere. The concept is great, but the execution is deeply flawed. I’m going back to Videobox… |

Pros: |
- Large selection of DVDs, many not available on typical membership-type sites
- Excellent search function
- Wide variety of themes and niches available
- Excellent selection of “classic” porn (please note that I consider ‘classic’ to be 80s and 90s)
- Decent access speeds |
Cons: |
- This is not a traditional DVD porn site
- Poor value if compared against a DVD site like Videobox
- DRM on everything (though the level of DRM varies) |
Bottom Line: |
The best way to think about a VOD site is to consider it the Blockbuster of online porn – it’s rental only, but the terms and duration of the rental can be varied depending on what you want to spend.
I know a lot of PUs are probably solidly against such a site just because it doesn’t really fit the kinds of niche that we all seem to go for – that being the “I give the site $X for a membership of a set time and I can download what I want.” I agree with those concerns. So why would anyone be interested in such a site? Well, for many PUs who are serious collectors, these sites can be a great way to find DVDs that aren’t readily available anywhere else.
One of the best things about this site is its size. TPB says that it has 680 VOD rentals available, but I don’t know when that figure was posted. My educated guess is that is way off, and possibly off by a factor of 10 or more. My experience is that their VOD catalogue is huge. I have found titles here that I’ve been looking for for years.
Another positive is that while every VOD title has some form of DRM, the kind of DRM can vary depending on what is offered and what you want to spend. There are three different ways to get porn on this site. A pay-per-minute function is available with packages of minutes available in various sizes. You can also ‘rent’ the DVD for a set period (usually 7 or 30 days) and finally you can select to ‘download-to-own’ the DVD. That’s a bit misleading since it still has DRM, but the price includes three ‘certificates’ for you to use. Prices vary widely, with new releases and popular titles costing more than bargain-bin titles.
I’m not sure of the actual screen resolutions available, but all titles, regardless of how you rent them, are available in what is called “high” and “DVD.” (Some have “low” available too.) I’ve tried both the higher ones and obviously DVD is much better, and looks as good or better than other VOD sites.
The downsides are pretty obvious – cost and DRM. Cost is a big issue – getting your porn this way can be prohibitively expensive. This is not the way you want to build a porn DVD collection unless you happen to be Donald Trump. (New releases can be VERY expensive.) DRM is self-explanatory – you never own the movie outright.
But even taking the two big downsides into account this site can be a great way to see DVDs that aren’t otherwise available. If it’s a new-release that you must see, or an old classic favorite that you haven’t seen in years, this site likely has what you want if none of the monthly-membership sites do.
Please note – at the time I’m writing this Adult DVD Empire is transitioning to a new site called AdultEmpire.com. It seems to be a repackaging of the old site that keeps the same business model and search functions but in a more modern and user friendly way. |

I don't dispute what ergo says and I put a lot of trust in TBP / PU when they remove a site from their lists, but I just want to add that this Adult Empire that's been blacklisted isn't the same as the VOD site that goes by adultempire.com. The VOD site is a spin-off from the VOD site Adult DVD Empire. Both sites are an excellent source of VOD material and some downloads. I only mention this because I'd hate to think that a reputable site would lose business because they have name very similar to a disreputable site.

I wish I could help you, but I can't. I don't remember what titles I downloaded from this site so I can't locate and check them. I checked the site too and I can't find any information on resolutions. I agree with you that this is a VERY expensive way to buy porn. I only use this as a last resort for titles that I really want to see. Even then I'll often just stream them due to the download cost.
With VOD sites though, the prices can vary widely. This site has a sister called Adult DVD Empire and often times the prices are different so you might save some money that way. One thing though, those two related sites are probably the best for quality.
Sorry I can't be of more help...

Pros: |
- Huge collection of titles (close to 60,000)
- Affiliated with Adult DVD Empire – a company with a long history and good reputation
- Various options for viewing or downloading (PPM, download and stream)
- Two or three (depending on the age of the title) quality options
- Speeds are up to industry standards
- Excellent customer service |
Cons: |
- Can be an expensive way to collect titles
- Limited search capabilities
- Least expensive option (1 day rental) is streaming only
- Web name is very similar to a blacklisted site |
Bottom Line: |
First a quick warning: this site is Adult Empire.com. Don’t confuse it with Adult Empire which has been blacklisted here at PU. That confusing name is unfortunate since this PPV/VOD site is very good.
I have a love/hate relationship with PPV/VOD sites. On the love side, a site that offers a lot of titles is an excellent opportunity to view titles that aren’t available anywhere else. On the hate side, they can be like crack for the pornuser in that you only get a quick fix and then have to dig out your wallet again.
PPV/VOD sites aren’t like other porn sites. They don’t offer exclusive material, and unlike sites like Videobox, you have to pay for everything you watch. So why bother? Because a good PPV/VOD will have a huge number of titles that aren’t usually available elsewhere,. It’s a great option to see some titles that you otherwise wouldn’t have access to.
This site is relatively new and appears to be a spin-off of Adult DVD Empire. I say that because my wish list at the older site was migrated to the new site. But the old site still offers PPV/VOD, and some of the titles are the same on the two sites though the new site has better pricing options. Of the PPV/VOD sites I use, my favorite has always been Adult DVD Empire, and the new site offers all the same quality and variety at a price that is often lower.
As with most PPV/VOD sites, there are many options available depending on how you want to view the title. You have a pay-per-minute option, the option to buy a download (most with no DRM) and then there is a streaming rental option. The big advantage that this site offers is a one day streaming rental for just $1.99. If you’re familiar with PPV/VOD sites you’ll know this is a great deal. My preference would be a one day download rental, but that’s just a personal preference.
There are negatives, but to be fair, I suspect that most of those are beyond the control of the site. What the site can control is generally great. The one big flaw is the lack of an advanced search function. The parent site has a great search function, so why that wasn’t just migrated over is beyond me. What the site can’t control (I suspect) is what studios will do business with them, and what those studios will charge to the site. Many studios offer decent pricing, but a few (I’m looking at you, Jules Jordan) seem to think that their material is worth a lot more than other stuff. Obviously the site has to pass those costs on. But as a consumer, I can just choose to not pay those high prices. (Up yours, Jules!)
PPV/VOD sites have their limitations, but if you really want to see a title that isn’t available elsewhere, this may be an option. If it is an option, I’d recommend starting at this site because the rental prices can be very low. There may be lower prices at other PPV/VOD sites, but unless the price difference is huge I’d recommend doing business with this site as the quality is excellent. |

Interesting... I never spent any time in the bonus sites since none of them really interested me. Actually, they did, but given that I was so unimpressed with the main site I was a bit worried that I'd end up being charged extra for the "bonus" sites. That's happened to me before. The whole business seems a little unscrupulous when the links to download videos on a pay site where you have a membership link to a different site.
I'm also willing to accept the possibility that the site was just having a bad time when I joined and that in the future the links will be fixed. I just don't think it will be me who figures that out.

Pros: |
- Full trial – 2 days for $4.95
- Bonus sites available |
Cons: |
- This site is not ready for prime time
- Dead links from videos
- Photos zipped but I was unable to unzip them
- Nothing here that can’t be found on more reliable websites (Videobox) |
Bottom Line: |
I’m always on the hunt for new DVD sites since these are my preferred niche. I’ve amassed a pretty decent collection of porn DVDs using sites like this and Videobox.
But… that last comment is a bit misleading – there is no way that Adult Film Sex Stars can be realistically compared to a site like Videobox. The only comparison is that they both offer mainstream hardcore videos by the major studios. Any similarity ends there.
Adult Film Sex Stars has approximately 365 DVD titles on their site, which makes it a decent value, but a problem is that most of the DVDs are also available on Videobox which has thousands of titles available. If you’re looking for DVDs, Videobox offers the better value by far.
If the relatively small size of Adult Film Sex Stars was the only problem I’d feel compelled to recommend it just to give it some support as it grows, but size definitely isn’t the only problem here. The site also boasts of having many scenes available too, and it looks like they can deliver with hundreds of pages of scenes that aren’t affiliated with any DVD title (though they are not exclusive content). The problem is that there is no obvious way to download them. Each screencap is a link that opens in a separate page where there is a link called “Download Video.” But the link doesn’t appear to work on any of the videos. Right clicking it and trying to use ‘save as’ reveals that the link is really an HTML link. Left clicking to open the link brings you to one of the bonus sites where, presumably you may have to then search there for the scene you wanted to download. Why a scene promising, for example, Anita Blue getting fucked would link to Club Taylor Rain is beyond me. And this has to be more than a rare screw-up since all of the scenes link to one of the bonus sites. There does not appear to be any way to download any of the scenes from Adult Film Sex Stars.
When searching through the list of models on the site you find that many only have photos available. If you’re into photos this can’t be a bad thing can it? Well, maybe it can. I’ll admit that I’m not particularly computer savvy, but downloading a zipped photo set has never been a problem before this. I tried downloading multiple photo sets, which are all zipped. Then I tried unpacking the sets using Winrar, which is usually idiot proof. But Winrar couldn’t unpack any of the sets – all I got was a warning that the files were an unknown format (they are all .zip) or damaged. I’m presuming the latter.
The bottom line is that this site has a very amateur feel to it, and not in a good way. My guess is that someone wanted to make some money and bought access to some licenced material and created a site. The problem is that while it’s a decent effort it really isn’t ready for prime time yet. I can’t recommend taking a membership – even the full trial isn’t a great value given all the problems in the site. |

I read on another forum that some others weren't so lucky and that they've had membership issues that the biller isn't willing to resolve. It may be that these were monthly recurring memberships though. The person posting this wasn't clear. Maybe unlimited memberships are treated differently.
