This is my fourth review of VB since becoming a PU member many years ago. I had hoped to focus on the new, ‘improved,’ VB3 but I’ll have to leave that to someone else. I’m sure that VB3 is fairly easy to use and straightforward once you get used to it, but with VB2 being as simple and straightforward as it is already why bother changing it? I’m familiar and comfortable with VB2 so I used that.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know about VB. This has to be one of the best, and probably the best, DVD site on the ‘net. It offers a huge amount of material for the low price of a membership. I can’t imagine that there is another site that offers this kind of value.
There are a lot of good reasons to join VB: size and variety are the two biggest ones. There are almost 10,000 DVDs on the site now, with more being added daily. The site doesn’t concentrate on serving one fetish or niche to the exclusion of others either, but it serves many very well. There are members who complain when they don’t like an update, but I think that approach forgets that there are probably a lot of people who are pleased with the update. Also good are the options available to view the scenes: there are multiple download options depending on the quality you want or the size you can store, and streaming is also available. Download speeds are better than average.
The downsides to the site are pretty minor and probably mostly subjective. I find that they still seem to push quantity over quality, and I find a heavy reliance on lower-grade European material.
VB now offers four ‘premium channels.’ Evil Angel and Vivid were added quite a while ago and both now have a decent library available. These two were bundled for a while, which made for a great value, but now they are separate add-ons. That probably makes more sense given that these two studios offer vastly different material and likely have few customers who seek out material from both.
The two newest premium channels are Kink.com and Reality Kings. I didn’t add either of them on. I’m not really familiar with Reality Kings (though I have had a membership) so I can’t give a good opinion. As for Kink.com, if you’ve never been a member of any of their sites this would be a good way to access some stuff to sample it. There is a good sampling from many of their sites, such as The Training of O and Water Bondage.
Even with the few things I don’t like, VB is still likely my favorite porn site. It has so much to offer at such a low price that it is a no-brainer to join. Unlike other sites you don’t get a staggered membership at first – you get access to the probably the largest porn stash on the ‘net with no download limits. A membership here for a few months will give you a better collection than some porn shops have. It really does have something for everyone. |

I eventually took the additional channels too and agree that they are definitely worth the additional cost. They don't update as often so they may not be something to keep a membership with, but they are definitely a good value.

RustyJ - the B C and D thing is just subjective. Many of the posts at Videobox just aren't Grade A material. I also agree that much of the older Private stuff is excellent. I'm a big fan of Private and have been for a long time. The stuff that gets posted to Videobox isn't very good though. This is certainly a personal thing, but I really don't like boy-boy-girl scenes and those seem to be more common than boy-girl in a lot of the Private titles that get posted on Videobox.

Yes, I realize that this is probably the most reviewed site here at PU, and yes, I also realize that this is the third time I’ve reviewed this site, but I wanted to update my opinion of the site and I figured that a comment wouldn’t suffice. I also added the premium channels this time too.
I’m a big fan of Videobox. I’ve had friends who’ve asked for recommendations on porn sites and I’ve sent them to VB. VB is an excellent way to build a large, good quality porn collection. It has enough variety to satisfy all but the most unusual tastes, though the search function (or lack thereof) makes finding what you want more difficult. A site this large needs a better means of searching.
VB is big enough and well known enough that one bad review won’t hurt it. I’m still a fan, but less of a fan than I have been. The thing I think that is dragging VB down is, ironically, what is one of their big selling points: five updates a day. The problem with having five updates a day is that this emphasizes quantity over quality. When they’re putting five new DVDs up per day, every day, regardless of your tastes there will be an awful lot of crap being uploaded.
To fill their daily quota VB relies heavily on European porn. I prefer American porn, but that’s not my motivating point here. There is good European porn and there is bad European porn. (Same with the U.S.) The problem is that VB seems to rely on more bad European stuff than good stuff. Take Private – they are (or at least used to be) a high-quality studio. I only learned that they also crank out complete crap thanks to VB. This is grade-B and C Private stuff.
Another pet peeve of mine that is also caused by the daily update schedule is the use of a lot of compilation DVDs. The problem is that with many of the compilation DVDs VB has already posted the original. Luckily someone usually points out the duplication. But VB gets to count another update without really updating anything.
On the plus side, VB has recently been adding older Seymore Butts titles. These are great to see again.
They’ve also started adding some Diabolic titles too. There aren’t many up yet, but these certainly move the quality balance in the right direction.
For the first time, I also added the ‘premium’ channels. These really add to the value of the membership now that they are bundled for the fee. They are a bit pricey, but they do offer good value with both channels having just under 400 titles posted now. A new title gets added to each channel every two or three days.
Is VB still a great value? Definitely. But they should modify their business model now that their so far ahead of the competition and focus on quality rather than quantity. I’d be satisfied with one update a day to have better quality. |

Thanks for this info. I've never joined the add-on sites because they just seemed too expensive in the past. I recently re-joined VB and declined the add-ons because I just assumed they were still separate and still expensive. But thanks to this info I suspect that I'll add them on soon.

Great review. Thanks for the updates on this site. I agree that it is one of the best out there but the quality can be pretty spotty. I haven't had a membership to VB since I upgraded my ISP to fibre-op and was wondering how the speeds would be. Given your information I'm hopeful that they'llbe pretty goo.

I agree with you on this issue. The search function isn't as good as it could be simply because of some errors in entering the information. I suspect that this is a result of the sheer volume of files being added each day. VB has five updates as you know, and I'm assuming that both bonus sites have a least one update each day. I'm a VB fan, but this site is more about quantity (and value) than quality.

Yes, I know Videobox has been reviewed here many times before so I won’t simply rehash everything that you can read below.
I’ve said this before – if you’re new to collecting internet porn a membership at this site is essential. Most porn video stores wouldn’t have the volume that VB has. If you’re just starting out this will take you much more than a month to get through unless you have a really narrow niche you’re looking for. The other site a newbie needs to spend some time at is American Vice. I’m amazed that VB and AV don’t overlap much more than they do. The up-side to this is that you can download from one knowing that you probably won’t find it on the other.
I first took out a VB membership in 2005 and maintained that without a break until late 2008. After that I switched to taking a monthly membership a few times a year. If you’re new to the site, expect to stay a while.
There have been some subtle changes that I’ve noticed over the past little while. One is that they seem to have been listening to a lot of complaints by users that the DVDs were heavily skewed to anal themes. Some people took to calling the site “AnalBox.” In my current stay at VB I can report that there does appear to be a reduction in anal themed DVDs. I’ll leave it to you to decide if this is good or bad. (The Rearadmiral, though, thinks it’s bad.) In my opinion, the switch away from anal (which I never thought was out of proportion with the industry – anal is popular people!) means that VB doesn’t have some anal scenes from some of the hottest new girls in the biz. Stars like Aubrey Addams and Dakoda Brookes do anal, but there aren’t a lot of their anal scenes on VB. I suspect that this is partly a response to complaints.
There are also a lot more European videos. Some of these are decent, many aren’t. When they promise five updates a day they have to have access to a lot of videos and they seem to have sourced a lot from Europe. I like European movies, but I prefer U.S. stuff because I find it easier to keep track of the stars I like.
Anal or not, one issue is that they really seem to focus on quantity over quality. Some of the videos are really bad. I mean generally bad, not just “I don’t like this fetish’ bad.
One thing I liked was that they are also adding some older (1990s) titles. Yes, I know this is a preference thing too, but it does add to the variety.
Apart from adding a lot of European content they are obviously continuing to expand their American lines too. Since my last membership they’ve added J.M. Productions, for example.
Overall, this site remains a must-have membership if you like porn DVDs. You can’t please everyone all the time, but this site tries and frequently succeeds.
(Please note that nothing above is intended to apply to the two extra-cost bonus sites. I’ve not had a membership to either and can’t say anything about them.) |

Thanks for that information. I never really spent a lot of time looking at the add-on channels. I looked at the number of titles available and the monthly cost and just assumed that it was poor value. But now hearing that there is a lot pf 90's stuff there I will definitely take a look.

Thanks for this. I take a VB membership for a month a couple of times a year and have wondered about the value of these new additional memberships. One of the things I always look for are older videos (from the early to mid-90s). Next time I'm renew (which won;t be for six months since I'm in now) I'll be more comfortable considering one or both of the add ons.
But... they seem pretty expensive. How do you think they stand up as value?

I've been a member for approximately 3 years and have no plans to leave any time soon. Sure, not all the videos are to my taste, but I can live with that. If you join now there are so many videos that you'll be busy for weeks if not months. On top of that every 5 hours a new video is posted. Sure, Videobox has people who complain, but most of the complaints are that once in a while a video gets posted that they don't like so they have to wait. Big deal. There's enough here to keep anyone happy for a long time.

This is an excellent review. Thanks for posting it. I appreciate the level of detail and that you kept your comments objective. I don’t find reviews to be particularly informative if all they say is “I don’t like this site.” I need to know why a reviewer does or doesn’t like a site (or parts of it) because that is often subjective and I may not share those same thoughts. I’d like to think that I could write an objective review of a site that I had zero interest in and still do it well by explaining the pros and cons of the site objectively. That’s what you’ve done here.
The comparison to Videobox is easy to make because they are so much alike. I’m into a VB membership now and based on your review I plan to join Videosz later this week so it’ll be a great opportunity for a comparison.
I’m really glad to hear that Videosz has dropped adding five DVDs per day. I wish VB would do that as well because the current model trades quality for quantity. If sites like Videosz and Videobox want to draw paying customers away from the tube sites they need to offer something that the tube sites don’t and that could be quality.
I’ll be joining Videosz later this week based on your review.

Sorry to impose on you, but I have no idea about this stuff and wonder if you could give a bit more detail.
I understand that a site has to buy bandwidth to deliver files to customers, and I understand that can be expensive, but I'm wondering what a more normal usage would cost a site. Say I join a site and in a month I download 250GB. What would a ballpark cost for the site be on that? I've often wondered if by taking a one month membership and downloading a lot of material (like most people do I suspect) whether the site is making much money off of that. I hope that most of them are, because by making money they make more porn. What are your thoughts on that?
And what are referral fees? I always enter a site through TBP/PU and assume that TBP/PU gets a bit of a kickback but I assumed it would be in the cents. What would cause referral fees to be more expensive? Any thoughts on how I as a member on a site can keep referral fees down for the site or are they unavoidable?
I'd certainly appreciate your thoughts on this because I don't know that the topic has ever come up here before.

Having the additional content really makes PornStar Network an excellent value. I'm not really sure how much VideosZ content you get through PSN, but it took me over a month to download everything I wanted. It at least doubles the amount of content on the network and its all free when you join through TBP or PU. I'll post a full review of PSN this week. It's a decent site and I'd highly recommend it.

Lately I’m much less of a fan of the all-you-can-eat-buffet approach that these large networks offer. Sure, they often offer a wide range of material so that most porn buyers can find something they like, but in most cases they do that at the expense of quality. With this site, the site itself and the videos they offer certainly lack the quality I’ve come to associate with smaller sites.
Before I wade into the main review I need to explain that I’ll be missing some details. The network is large and the videos are often available on several sites within the network which makes it seem bigger than it really is. But it also makes it impossible to say how many videos are available. I think a fair estimate is at least 1000 and likely more. Quantity isn’t a problem here. The other problem is that none of the scenes are dated so it isn’t possible to determine anything about updates. More on that later.
As networks go this one seems to have a broader scope than many. The sites range from solo girl softcore to extreme pissing sites. In between there are standard hardcore sites, several that feature pregnant models and a lactation site. I won’t list the sites because that list is long and most of them (but not all) are listed at the TBP page. One thing to note is that while the network shows 49 sites 17 of those lead to a site called 4Real Amateurs. I didn’t log into that site so I can’t comment. That leaves 32 actual sites as part of the network.
The sites all open in their own page with a standard layout and that layout isn’t user friendly. This is hard to describe, but the videos are each laid out on a ‘panel’ with a thumbnail and a brief description but the area each takes up is varied so the ‘panels’ for each scene end up in disarray. It isn’t bad, but for some who prefers order and logic it is a bit annoying.
As I noted above, I can’t give a definitive answer on updates, but it looks like there are no new exclusive updates. In the sites that look like they’ve added something recently those updates have been licenced by other sites. VIPissy, for example, has the newer content on the peeing sites. Other sites don’t seem to be updating at all.
Another indication that the sites may not be updating is the quality of the video available. This is probably the biggest flaw in the network. The video quality varies widely across the network but that’s to be expected given that some of the videos are likely more than a decade old. I did find some videos that were 1920x1080 which I’d normally praise. But the bitrate and frames-per-second rate are low at 4200kb/s and 20fps. These videos don’t look good on a 24” monitor. Object edges look pixilated. It’s fair to point out that you don’t have to look too hard to find videos that are 320x240 and 200kb/s.
The site supports download managers. I had no problem with links timing out, but then with the small size of some of the files that should be a problem anyway.
This network provides quantity over quality. Unless there are specific scenes you’re looking for my advice is to find a good niche site elsewhere. This network has a lot more wrong than right. |

I agree that this should be a trend that catches on. Most sites use multiple cameras so I'd like to see more user options to see those other views. If the editor wants to show me some guy's hairy ass I could use a different view. I find the woman's facial reactions more arousing than a hairy male ass.

While the golden shower niche isn’t something that I have a serious interest in, I’m always willing to join a site that looks like it might be well done. The tour pages made the site look like a high quality site where the owners took an interest in giving a quality product to the members, and so with only a mild interest in the site I joined. I’m glad I did as this is a great site.
The site is relatively new having started in June of 2013. Because it’s new it is still relatively small with 80 videos available now. It updates with one new scene being added per week.
One thing I appreciate about the site is how it doesn’t focus on just one facet of the peeing niche but takes a really broad approach. If you like any facet of the peeing niche you’ll likely find it here: there is solo girl peeing, girl/girl peeing, girls peeing on guys, guys peeing on girls, peeing on bodies, peeing in mouths, peeing in glasses, pee drinking and pee swallowing. Many of these different parts of the niche occur in within the same scene too. The downside to this is that if you only like one specific part of the niche you may not have enough here to satisfy you. If you’re like me and only have a passing (excuse the bad pun) interest in the peeing niche then this is a good way to get your toes wet without diving in completely. (Okay, that’ll be the last pun…) I should also add that this isn’t a softcore site: there is both g/g and b/g hardcore sex here too.
The models are all Eastern European or Russian and all fall into a similar look of being young and petite. That’s great for those who like this look (as I do) but if you want to add some color, age or weight to your peeing videos this site may not be for you. I think it’s fair to say, though, that the site probably aims for and hits the biggest target audience.
While there isn’t a search function there are a lot of ways to sort the scenes that make the lack of a search less of an issue. You can sort by models and the site uses extensive and specific tags to help sort out a particular interest. If I could fault them for only omission it would be the inability to sort at a higher level for b/g, g/g or solo scenes. This is definitely not a deal breaker since the thumbnails for the scenes give a good idea of the content, and as I said earlier there is frequently a mix of genres within one scene. It could start with two girls peeing on each other and halfway in a guy arrives to join in the fun and it turns into a hardcore scene.
Each scene opens into a separate page where you can watch or download the scene. I don’t stream videos so I can comment on that except to say that there doesn’t appear to be any options for streaming and that the scenes don’t start streaming automatically when you load the page. I appreciate this as too many sites start the streaming automatically which assumes that’s how the member wants the scene, wastes bandwidth and potentially makes for some embarrassment if your speakers aren’t off. Thanks to VIPissy for not following this annoying trend.
There are several options for downloading the scenes. There is only one WMV option (in hi-resolution). Four MP4 resolutions offered: 320, 480, 720 and 1080. I downloaded the 720 and those come in at 1280x720, 2200kb/s and 25fps. Subjectively they look great on both a 24” monitor and 50” TV.
Newer scenes also offer a few options that may be of interest to some members. They have ‘bonus clips’ of a trailer, a cut with close ups and a wide angle cut. This may not be of much value to all members but it certainly shows the site’s attention to detail that they’d make three full-length videos of the same scene available. (I sampled a few of these and can say that there isn’t really much of a difference between the primary scene and the wide angle cut.)
Photos are also available in both low and high resolutions. The hi-res phots are 1800x1013. They look crisp for their relatively low resolution. They’re only available as zips which doesn’t seem like a serious limitation as I’m sure this is the preferred option for most picture enthusiasts anyway.
I used a download manager with no problems.
I can’t say if these scenes are all exclusive since I don’t join other peeing sites but they site and the scenes indicate a high probability that these are exclusive.
The bottom line is that I can highly recommend this site for someone with an interest in this niche. It has something for all interests and uses some beautiful models while doing it. The site is well thought out and logical and shows an interest in giving the customer as many options as possible. |

I have to say that I am really surprised at the longevity of DVDs. Here at PU and on some other forums it seems that DVDs are still the 'go to' format for a lot of people. I don't get that. If my porn collection was on DVDs it would take up a warehouse. That's only a mild exaggeration. As it is, it's on 24 external drives and they fit in a briefcase.
