Great review! It gives me some confidence to know that another person looks at the site independently and comes to pretty much the same conclusion.
Something you wrote made me realize I missed something in my review. You said that you didn't download any HD files because of the limit. Neither did I and for the same reason. So why should they bother having them at all? The regular wmv files can be in excess of 1GB so I can imagine that the HD ones are much bigger. Is it vanity on their part to think that a member would join and love the material so much that they'd be satisfied downloading five scenes a day?
I also agree that they're a bit ass-obsessed. But... not all ass obsessions are the same. I'm ass-obsessed too but none of the RK sites appealed to me. The RK sites promote big asses. I prefer smaller. But I'd only say no to Alexis Texas if Tanner Mayes was in the room... And oddly for a big network, the only anal site (Captain Stabbin) rarely updates. I can see if they think the theme has run out of steam (pun intended) but why give up on the genre?
Anyway, great review and I really enjoyed reading it. Too bad that like you, it won't induce me to join ever again.

Nice review. I agree 100% with you when you complained that so many site "focus too much on the guys and not enough on the girls." That's a huge pet peeve of mine. Guys is b/g porn are part of the set and should act that way. They should blend in as much as possible while helping the girl to look her best and show herself off. It's good to hear that X-Art gets that.

I agree with most of the above. I really appreciate the opportunity to use the forum and try to read the threads as often as I can and post there when I have something to contribute. I'm constantly impressed by the civility and friendliness in the forum.
Like pat, I'm also a bit dismayed that the number of regulars there seems to have dwindled a bit. I have nothing against the gang that I usually communicate with there, but it would be great to have some new perspecives.

I agree, file sizes would make sense here. But the real problem is the use of an unreasonbaly low limit.
To add icing to the Reality Kings cake, I can't cancel my membership. They use a biller called Secure Billing Worldwide and when I go through the cancellation process and get to the last screen where I can opt to stay with RK at a reduced price or cancel, there are no buttons that allow you to make either choice. This isn't a Reality Kings problem, obviously, but it adds to the frustration I've had with the membership.

Great review of an interesting site. I hadn't ever considered joining the DDF Network but with this site I might have a look. The tour pages underscore your concern that with so many BDSM fetishes to cater to that most members are going to encounter stuff they have no interest in. I see that there is a full trial and that may be a way to fully explore the site and see if there is enough to justify the full membership.

I wonder if the cap is something they've always had but just never enforced until recently? That would explain why some people never hit the limits and some of us did. Or else they just enforce it randomly, which is also a reasonable theory.
Like you, this will probably be my last time at this site. It has become stale and repetitive. I still like some of the sites a bit, but the low, low, low limit added to a mostly bland network means I won't be back. And the fact that they didn't have the courtesy to even reply to my email is just rubbing salt in the wound. I had low expectations when I sent the email so at least I could claim that they met my expectations.

I understand that subjectivity makes up a big part of any score, but... what makes a better review is when the writer explains the reasons for those biases. You definitely did that. Met Art is one of the most respected sites out there but thanks to your clear explanation of why you don't like it I'm 99% sure that I wouldn't like it either.

An update on my review for anyone interested in particular models. I’ve reviewed the scenes on Sinnistar with known porn chicks and even some unknown to me but listed on IAFD and have a list of some exclusive scenes for anyone who collects specific models.
Keep in mind that if you are interested in any of these, when I say oral, that normally includes throat-fucking. The anal sex can be pretty rough too. Not all models do ATM, but most do.

otoh (and I mean no disrespect for the other members who also reviewed this site), but this is the best Met Art review I've read! Like you, Met Art has been on the list of sites to consider but regularly got bumped down by something else. But thanks to your review I'm going to remove it permanently from the list. You succinctly and clearly build a case for why I shouldn't join, but you also build a case for why someone may want to join. I prefer harder sites but have nothing against soft sites, but when I read your line that the site "seems to be to emphasise the beauty of the models at the expense of any sexuality" that really made your point clear. And when you wrote "there is little teasing, no touching, and rarely even a lewd glance" that finished any interest that I may have had in the site.
I'm sure there are many people who would love Met Art's style of porn, but I'm not one of them. Thanks for saving me $30!

I agree that any comparison between porn and mainstream movies economies is silly. But with gross sales being what they are it makes clear how big the porn industry is.
I've been spending a lot of time at ADT reading old threads. It's an amazing site for porn trivia. I haven't posted anything yet, but PU will be my default site for as long as it exists. And the purposes of the sites are completely different, as you point out so one could never replace the other.

For me, Captain Stabbin isn't about the crew but I have a nautical fetish AND an anal fetish so this site is a sensory overload for me. I do like the original Captain as he's just so lucky and he knows how lucky he is.
I hadn't really given any thought to the economics of mainstream porn. I guess I always thought that it was a great way to get rich fast, but after reading what you wrote that obviously isn't the case. I hear estimated numbers that the porn industry brings in each year, and I recall that the porn industry is reputed to bring in more than Hollywood, but there are tons of studios out there cranking out the titles. And I'm certain that piracy hurts the porn industry more than the mainstream movie business just because of the size of studios.
Still... I suspect that when a star like Tanner does her first anal it will also sell better than the average movie. But the piracy will be more too. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any Tanner anal scenes that might come out in 2012.
I just signed up for the forums at ADT and there is a lot of useful information there as you said. Thanks for that tip!

I didn't count my downloads yesterday but I was well in excess of 10GB and maybe even over 20 before I got shut down. I find the variations in the limit more annoying than the limit itself. And I have to admit that I'm pretty pissed that they don't even have the courtesy to reply to my email. I wasn't rude or even remotely challenging or negative. All I did was ask them for some clarification. It seems that like so many mega sites they see customer service as ending once they get a credit card number. It makes those sites that actually do care about customers seem that much better.
I've considered Teen Mega World a few times, and it's on my list of sites to join, but I haven't yet. Knowing that the models are what I like might bump them up a bit.

I probably still would have joined because the promo pages made it look like Captain Stabbin was back on the high seas and i always liked that site. It isn't really back, but there are some new scenes.
I'm surprised that Tanner would have done anal for Evil Angel since EA has a bit of a reputation for porn on the harder side. They must have driven a dump truck full of money to her front door to entice her to shoot anal for them. Thanks for the tip and I'll definitely be looking for those scenes. If you ever hear the titles would you let me know please?

I agree that if you're looking for fetish material Kink is at the top of any list of sites. They obviously put a lot of time, money and effort into all their shoots. Their anal material is amazing.
I always add the Evil Angel channel when I take a VB membership because I'm a huge fan of a lot of their work. Jay Sin in particular. His anal-themed stuff is like nothing else I've seen. Series' like Milk Nymphos and Anal Buffet are insane. If there was a Nobel prize for anal porn Jay Sin would win it every year.

I suspect that the fault for not associating them with a site is with VB and not Kink. I've had a couple of reasons to email the staff at Kink with membership problems and they're really helpful. I doubt that Kink would deliberately just upload their scenes without cataloging them. The Kink channel at VB could be a good way to get people interested in their sites, but without any association with a site other than the watermark it limits that as a purpose.

Updates are only one factor for me in deciding to join a site. If it has a particular theme or performer that I want to see, then definitely. I joined Water Bondage twice knowing it was no longer updating and I'd still recommend it to anyone with an interest in that narrow niche.

I can't imagine that anyone prefers streaming to start immediately with no action from the user. I keep my speakers off, but it sucks bandwidth from what I'm already downloading. With VB3 (all VB3, not just Kink stuff) it can take several tried to get it to stop completely.
Video quality is lower on VB, but that could be because I'm downloading a lower quality too. I recall that on Kink that I tended to download what was labelled as WMV HD. Those specs are 1280x720 @ 7100kb/s. I downloaded the WMV DVD which came in at 720x480 @ 387kb/s. I have very little understanding of the technical bits, but it seems to me that the size of the files (HD on Kink and DVD on VB) were pretty close. Kink scenes tends to be pretty long, often over an hour, and the file sizes on VB were still very large. Most of them are at or just over 1GB. I have no idea why a scene with such different resolutions would be so close in actual size.
One other difference which probably doesn't impact on too many people is that Kink uses WMV codec 9 and VB uses codec 8. That means that anyone using one of those devices to play files through their TV (like the Western Digital device) can't play the files from VB though if they had the same file from Kink it would play.

I agree that if your plan was to join VB just to access the Kink channel that might not make sense yet, but if you're thinking of a VB membership anyway the channel is a great opportunity to sample some Kink stuff.
My VB membership will expire on the 27th or 28th and I added Kink yesterday. It cost me a little less than $10. If all you wanted were a dozen or so scenes you could wait until closer to the end of your VB membership.
One potential flaw with that plan is that VB doesn't catagorize the scenes according to which site they're from. The scenes from Ultimate Surrender are fairly obvious, as are a lot of scenes from Kink Live, but other than that you'll be opening every scene and checking the watermark if you're looking for scenes from specific sites. This is a huge pain in the ass now, but as the site grows it could make the whole thing unmanagable. I don't fault Kink for this; they have their sites clearly defined. I think the VB is at fault and I specifically blame the marketing ploy known as VB3. Evil Angel and Vivid, which are still accessible through VB2 are categorized by DVD. Kink and Reality Kings are just multiple pages of scenes with no differentiation. So if you want Whipped Ass from Kink, or In the VIP from Reality Kings you'll need a big dose of patience.
