The dilemma for me is how I'll deal with my porn collection when I'm old. (And I don't agree with my friend that 51 is 'old'!) I don't want to part with it, but it's simply too big to leave behind when I die.
Then again, I'm making an assumption that porn technology today will be the same in 25 or 30 years and the chances of that are slim. When my collection was VHS tapes I couldn't have imagined DVDs. Likewise when my collection was DVDs I remember having a conversation with someone who saw the future of porn as being all online. This was when dial-up was common and I thought he was insane. It turns out he wasn't. The future is obviously streaming and cloud storage.
But I guess that doesn't answer the question. My answer would be a definite yes to porn even in my dotage.

It isn't often that those of us who join straight sites would get an opportunity to review a gay site. I think it is a great idea that you did this since we only have a few gay/bi members here so adding gay site reviews is a good thing.
On a semi-related note, I've been a regular Kink subscriber off and on pretty much since they started. They have some of the best BDSM-themed porn available on the internet. I'm really happy that they turned their membership into a 'network' rather than subscribing to single sites. But my take (and I've read similar opinions here and elsewhere) is that Kink has lost some of its edge and may be slipping from its place at the top of the heap. What are your thoughts on that?
This will fall into the category of TMI but I've never, ever had the courage to open any of the gay Kink sites even now that there is full network access. I'd have no trouble at all reviewing a 'mainstream' gay site but as someone afflicted with really, really sensitive testicles there is no way I could watch any scene with cock and ball torture without passing out! :-)

One of the big advantages that TBP/PU has is that you get the 'professional' side of things, TBP, which can list new sites and give some great information on sites. But then on the PU side you often get a deep dive into a site that normally takes more time than the professional reviewers could devote to a site. For example, I've found download limits because as a user I probably download a lot more than a professional reviewer would. Having both views is the real value here. If any site has a real flaw it’s likely that someone here has found it.

I'm not challenging what you are describing, but I've joined Amateur Allure many times over the past few years and have never had a problem joining or cancelling. They did a complete site redesign recently and maybe they added this new code thing in. I rejoined a few weeks ago (after the site redesign) and I didn't experience anything different. Just now, based on your comments, I went on the site and downloaded 10 videos to see if I had the same problem as you. Normally all I do is go on and download the latest update every Friday. I had no problem with ten downloads back-to-back. They do have a download limit but it is fairly high and not something that should trigger after one video. Most times the site is pretty good at responding to emails. Would you let us all know how this turns out please?

I have to weigh in and say that this is one of the most informative reviews I've read in a long time. Admittedly, I've been thinking of taking the Bang Bros plunge again (I haven't been a member there for a few years because of their shady billing practices) and your review is really helpful.
Bang Bros is likely the one site that many of us would name where the site itself is excellent but the experience can be seriously dampened by the tactics the site uses to get more money from users without them even knowing.
Your tips in avoiding at least some of their crap will be useful for all readers.

Thanks for replying to my message with some interesting information. I suspect that a driving factor for a lot of EE/Russian models in porn (gay and straight) is that is it probably a factor of the economies in many of those places. But then again, the same can be said in North America. If a young person with no marketable skills other than their looks wants to make some money then porn can be an option.

I have to admit that while I don't have any real interest in gay sites (nothing against them, I'm just straight) I make it a point to read all well-written reviews and that includes the ones you write.
I have a question though - it seems like a higher proportion of gay sites have Eastern European and Russian models (or maybe just non-American) than I'm used to seeing with straight porn. I'll confess that I haven't thought this through at all and that since I don't collect a lot of EE/Russian porn that may skew my perception. But is there a relatively high proportion of EE/Russian models in the gay side of the industry?

I sort of did a test drive on giving up TV. Last November my wife wanted to cut the cable and I put up no resistance. It'd be a rare week when I watched more than an hour and I could go weeks on end without it. I didn't think she'd last as long as she did, but a few weeks ago she signed up again. But it's been three weeks now (maybe four) and I still haven't had it on.
(In the interests of full disclosure, I am PVR-ing the new Ken Burns series on PBS called "The Vietnam War." I've liked some of Burns' stuff in the past so I can see myself binge-watching this some cold January weekend.)
