Before our official launch tomorrow we wanted to take a minute and thank everyone who has participated in our beta testing. We also want to thank those who've written to tell us how much they like the site. That means a lot to us. So far, we think the testing has gone great. We've also learned a lot in a short time. As a result of some of what we've learned, we'll be making some minor changes as soon as we can get them coded. You'll probably see some of them later today. One major thing we'll change is that we're going to set the minimum score for a Rating to 50% (previous scores below this will be raised to 50). Our reasoning for this is that a single very low score can significantly skew a site's overall average. We feel that isn't fair to the site nor is it especially helpful to fellow users. You'll still be able to express your opinions in the Review and if you think a site is especially bad, you can even add a comment to that effect. However, we are confident that if a site is bad, it'll consistently have low scores to warn other users. As it is, we're seeing most scores have kept consistent standards with our scores at TBP, so by keeping scores above 50, it makes the transition easier. Another minor change is we're adding a guideline for the Rating scores. On this one we're not telling you what to rate, only offering some guidance in an effort to have some consistency in the numeric scores assigned. There are a few other minor changes you might see but mostly, they're behind the scenes stuff to help us keep the site running smoothly.
