And another thing I really dislike is the lured way they use cookies - once I'm there they offer girls at my location (Copenhagen) - but man no way, these girls are even close to Copenhagen..... Sites like http://ipinfodb.com offer free lookup-tables that map IP ranges to cities around the globe. It's not always accurate though. Cookies are mostly used to recognise a user after login. If you are on a website that requires login and you don't see a cryptic code like 8833cadfc4376217c13545bf94dcf337 in the URL in your address bar, the site will most likely use cookies to recognize you.
