If the fans have a rational argument for why the site is so great then I'll listen to them. If the opinions are mostly subjective then I'll mostly ignore them.

Well as the question said "overly" enthusiastic I picked "Generally hurt", as I often suspect the motives of people who claim to be just fans of a site but who seem excessively ardent about promoting it.
Even in my most positive reviews I have always acknowledged a sites flaws - I don't think a perfect porn site has yet been invented!
If it's just general enthusiasm for a great site that they can back up, and acknowledge any flaws, that's a different matter.

The best that can happen to a site if an overly enthusiastic fan post a comment or review is that nothing happens. By that I mean that the site is neither positively or negatively affected. That said I mostly think that it's negative. A least it is for me because if someone is unable or unwilling to be impartial than how can I trust what they are saying.

Depends on the fan and the site, really. Some people just love one site or another and that's fine, but don't expect everyone to.
