Denner, the site is marked as a high priority for a review but even with that, given they're (the reviewers) current schedule, my *guess* is that it'll be at least a month and quite possibly a bit longer.
Sorry I can't pin it down any closer.
In the meantime, we'll hope that now the site is listed, someone who's already a member will post a review.
Back in '04 when TBP reviewed it, it was more of a pic site. Quality varied, but I got some decent stuff. But the vids were always short and uninspired, from what I saw, and pretty bad quality-wise. For the past several months, those vids is all they've been doing.
I think this one has really gone downhill, along with the partner site. I wonder how it happened??
Thanks for the kind words, Denner. And it would certainly be a lot easier, as well as cheaper, if all networks sold a general admission membership to all their sites (hopefully, for the same price they charge for membership to a single site, or a selected number of "bonus" sites).
But why would they want to make it easy on us paying customers? Their job (as they see it) is to try to grab as many dollars and euros as they can from our outstretched hands. That is the beauty of capitalism: helping people get rid of their filthy lucre. :)
Yeah, I like photosets to start where things start, with some sexy facial expressions and alluring eyes, and some threads to peel off as the girl is showing you what she got.
So why MC-Nudes prefers to start at a later point is beyond me ... with pics, anyway. Now with vids, it's a different story with Ze Droolah. I like to get them started "in the middle," assuming they're hardcore. (Not MC-Nudes, of course, but hardcore from other points of access.)
I suppose that sounds kinda of inconsistent. Well, it is. And weird, 'cause it's softcore with foreplay but "straight to it" when there's actual sex.
Hey Denner,
Speaking of Zombies (and with all due respect to Rod Argent), I've just noticed that some of the photo content of Lizzie Ryan that was on Teenrotica has been showing up at MC-Nudes. The pics are bigger, but fewer. The Teenrotica stuff of course takes you through a big, long stripping session, with lots of pics, but the MC-Nudes starts kind of "in the middle," shall we say.
I don't know what that "24b" means, either. They're 72 dpi (dots per inch), if that's part of any equation. It's a common resolution on the web, 72 dpi.
Anyway ... Teenrotica is what I call a "zombie" site, the kind that lives on well past its days of content-generating life. It's probably a decent "cash cow" for the owners, with no more content to produce and new subscribers coming along to plunk down their dough for a big fat download session.
The funny thing is, Denner, that I thought it deserved a 65 for the pics when I did my review of it 2007! I even said so, but gave it an 80 because of the vids! Ain't that a kick?
Well, these days, it ought to get a 65 just for being a dusty old zombie site, LOL.
Oh, BTW, it is exclusive material, so that speaks well of it. It's also the first site where I saw Lizzie Ryan! Yeeeeooowww!!
I believe this site stopped updating in 2009. I was there in the back end of 2009 and the updates had already stopped and looking through the tour i don't see anything new from when i was there. I think they have removed the dates from the content to cover up the fact they are no longer updating so those poor quality 2011 vids you mention are probably a few years old. As a pic fan i quite enjoyed what i got from the site for what its worth but without updates i won't be going back.
Good review man. Sorry to hear that the site is not really up to modern day standards.
Since the site focuses on images, would you mind talking a bit about the images? Like what sizes do you get? If they are HD and competitive to Met-art or such sites I might maybe consider joining...
Yes, I know the feeling ;o) No fun getting teased into joining a super-fresh site by its design and previews only to find out that it is filled with "vintage" porn ;o)
I personally have no interest in getting into a protracted discussion about regional pricing. Truthfully, this discussion would be better suited to the forum than focused on a specific site. Still, as it's repeatedly come up in this "thread" I'll share a little info in hopes of letting users here understand the issue.
First off, those who keep referring to a wrong exchange rate don't seem to have grasped what regional pricing is. It is NOT an exchange rate .. has nothing to do with an normal currency exchange rate. It IS about charging a different price based on where the customer is from.
In other aspects of life, it seems not only common, but acceptable to be charged different prices for the same thing based on where you're buying (or where you're from). For instance, what I pay for a DVD or a cup of Starbucks coffee will vary greatly depending on where I purchase it. Another example, lk2fireone mentions (above) where he was being charged a higher rate than local citizens (while visiting Europe), for the same items, even though he was paying in the local currency. Still, it's a fairly recent development for porn sites and understandably, it's not being well accepted by those who are having to pay more.
The reason you're seeing it more for purchases made through CCBill is because CCBill, in their interface for the site owners, has added a feature making it easy and convenient for site owners to enable regional pricing. It's the actual site owner who's deciding to charge more based on where you're at, not CCBill. They (CCBill) just handle the transaction according to the site owner's instructions.
Is it understandable that some porn surfers are upset at paying more for the same product ... sure. Are tourist upset when they're charged more than locals ... you bet. Is this something that you can expect to see more of ... my guess is yes. Can anything be done about it ... sometimes, writing the webmaster and letting them know you're aware you're getting charged more is enough to prompt them to give you a better price.
That's a great tip, Denner. Come to think of it, every time I used Epoch they always charged me in U.S. Dollars and then converted it to Canadian Dollars at the going rate. Must try that with the next site I join. Might be a while, though, because our Dollar is still in free fall. :-(
Would you believe that it would have cost me CAD 42.92 through CCBill this evening if I had wanted to subscribe to this site. The official conversion rate at this very moment is approx. 80 cents U.S. for one Canadian dollar which would make it $ 31.12 Canadian. Who gets my extra ten dollars? CCBill?
Isn't there some way to pay in US dollars even if you live in Europe?
I live in US, and have paid in foreign currency for some transactions with a credit card. The credit card company (I think it was mastercard) charged me an additional 3% above the conversion rate. And the conversion rate was not as good as that quoted on Wall Street (for major financial transactions), but that still seems better than the rates that are being offered to you for Euros.
Like mr smut and The Squirrel I've seen this more and more - and like these fellow users I think it's a rip off and a speculation in earnings only - a bit like when some site "pre-mark" another site when joining one.
"Maybe those european do not notice the difference"
But ok, some sites have equalized the cost: $/Euro to the same in the end, Great!
And some sites even offers you a helping hand with a different link to join in US dollars even if your're placed in Europe (after writing to the webmaster) Great too.
It seems to me this is happening more and more. I don't think it's imagination. These conversion rates are just set for rip off. If it's poor value or a relative rip off, I'm just not buying.
It's €29.95 for me too which is more than ridiculous *ggrrr* some may think that we Europeans are dumb as ... I don't know. I won't pay a significantly higher price just because I'm living here.
One feature they've added since you were last there a year ago is a kind of "shrink/enlarge" image program. You click on, say, the "XXL" under an image and the image pops up close to the screen size. Then if you click this "shrink/enlarge" button in the lower right corner of the image, the image expands to the XXL size (2000px).
As my RAM depleted, mousing over the XXL under the image brought this little rectangle that said "Loading ..." with a little spiraling graphic (meaning "please wait"). By the time I'd gotten through about a month of galleries, this "Loading .." rectangle just sat there and the image never came. I had to quit and reboot, and that was slow.
This morning I again went through a number of sites, with no problem, so it's clear to me that it's got something to do with Teenrotica. I doubt that it's anything underhanded. But it's not web programming at its finest.
But really, I don't know much about it. I do know that a webmaster can choose whether an image file draws progressively on the screen or pre-loads into RAM, which case you may wait longer, then suddenly the whole thing appears at once. So I think they can program from a website to use, in greater or lesser amounts, the resources on a visitor's computer.
And a webmaster can use scripts to detect a user's OS, screen resolution, browser and version, etc. Not a bad thing, really, since it makes it possible to display a page properly on screens that are 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x(I forgot), etc.
I have logged into my mature.nl account a few minutes ago. The speed was ok for browsing and dowloading. I would say the speed is average. Not fast but not noticeable slow in a way that downloading starts to be a pain
