LOL, well, here's the truth: I have never watched an actual physical Porn DVD on my television, so I automatically assumed DVD quality would at least have to give me as good a picture as I get with my non-HD movie DVDs and even though a site like VideoBox seems to be slightly better than others there are many scenes in it that are of terrible quality and that's why I couldn't understand Maggie's reference to the excellent picture quality.
I guess she's more even handed and experienced and kept in mind that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear when she made her judgment on the site. :-)

The nice and clear ones are around the 5000+ bitrate level, BUT NOT NECESSARILY, because I've seen scenes in compilations with high bitrates where the picture was still terrible. Many are around 1700+ bitrate and that's where the problem when viewing in full window comes in. The picture is really not crisp enough to be called DVD quality. Judging by the official review one might get the idea that most scenes are of good to excellent quality but, in my opinion, that's not the case. Maybe I've been spoiled by HD??
One additional thought comes to mind: should the DVDs be judged by viewing them in the default window like 640x480 etc. rather than in "full window mode?" If the former is the case then quality overall is not too bad and I need to apologize.

My question is why would anyone want to purchase the same old toy over and over again if it only differs very slightly from a previous one? I've been doing this myself for quite some time (multiple subscriptions to VideoBox and Videosz,) but think I've reached a point where, if someone doesn't attempt to sell me a new and original toy soon, I'm going to give up on this whole Porn business! :-)
There are too many mindless imitators out there .. and folks who support them unquestioningly with their money and reviews. Bigger is not always necessarily better. Judged by the wealth of contents, and some of Videobox's innovations, a ninety sounds fair but going by the quality (not technical) of the contents all these sites should get no more than an 80.
I am beginning to think that it all boils down to a) people who don't know anything about true eroticism, this is on the producer's side, b) the length of time one has watched porn, and c) one's age. This paragraph has been written to make me look more objective! :-)
And I find that your remarks: "Even though I personally don't care for most of the DVD material at this site." are far from confused and very objective. :) And I do know what you are getting at, most DVD sites are pretty much the same and among its peers VB is the best so why not rate it highly? Can't argue that, I just had to vent!

Tried contacting Videobox but received no response.
Clearing out cookies etc has no effect and this is definitely regional pricing.
Either way, I have now canceled my mebership and will not be rejoining.
As an example of customer support: I contacted DDF about regional pricing and discounts for multiple site membership and they came back to me instantly and sorted me out a package.
Sure, they update slowly, dig up old content and are generally a touch expensive but they give a shit and that goes a long way in my books.
I shall stop whinging now and go find some lube.

I paid for the premium one month at the EU equivalent of $, 19EU/month.
Pissed me right off.
Needless to say, I won't be joining that site again.

Ha ha, thank you sir. I try to do my best with the reviews but oftentimes so much comes down to personal preference. Like squirrel mentioned per-crossed sales are a deal breaker for them, for me they're sometimes great deals, sometimes a bit annoying ads, but it all depends from person to person.

Yeah, the dudes on the preview page are pretty over the top in comparison to the girls who are only mostly over the top :) If this type of animation gets better and they can start making movies the only job pornstars are going to have is doing the 'screaming O' voice overs while leaving us pervs with a completely warped sense of reality.

Well, I had sent them something, quite good - mannered by the way - when i published the post and never (even now) was replied.
Now i see a refund and i decided to remove my comments, im not so bad ¿eh?.
But i won´t call it a good customer service as i didn´t have any word from them. Im not sure about future undesired charges - you got to have a look at the biller, it seems rather dubious.

Thanks, I did try clearing my cookies but to no avail. I even get the same issue when using the nriwser onmy mobile device hence my thinking it's an issue with the site but based on what you've said, then maybe it's a problem at my end?

Thanks for the comment. Keep in mind that as the site grows they are likely to increase the price so it may be worth considering a membership now or in the near future to take advantage of the $10 price.

I think waiting is probably a wise decision at this moment but I'm sure you know that the 10$ join price is unlikely to remain as is. At some point they will raise it.
I like the company responsible for this site but not sure if it will ever make it on my wish list. Now if they were to do a lesbian site than they would have me as a customer.

I think the problem you have is that you used the PU link and for whatever reason that does not bring you directly to the site but to a tube preview version of the site. A legal tube version of the site since it is only showing content from Vixen and you can only join vixen but that said I do find that this is in some ways a little bit of false advertising as only one of the clickable icons will bring you to Vixen.com where you can clearly see that they currently have only 14 updates with one coming up tomorrow. The join price is only 10$ so I don't have any issue with what they are doing.

Just want to add that not just porn careers are often damaging. Having any celebrity where people see you and think they know you can be very damaging.
Suddenly losing privacy so that you can't go out alone without the danger of being accosted by strangers who feel they know you is a difficult way to live. People who love you or hate you without even really knowing you make it much more difficult to have reasonable social relationships, the most important part of life.
The huge majority of people are wonderful and respectful, but meeting those who are not on a fairly regular basis is difficult. Be grateful for your ability to be private and unknown!
