Thanks for the comment. I think that Mason, who has a reputation as a great porn director, left Elegant Angel and started both Erotica X and Hard X. It is some great porn. The TBP listing says that they offer a two day trial. My advice is to try that first. With a few spare hours you could download a lot.

One of the biggest reasons I watch porn is to see the female model's pleasurable reactions to what's going on. I'm not so naïve as to think that most or even many models experience pleasure, but I'm sure that some do. One advantage to the post-scene interviews here and on other Kink sites is that the models are usually asked to describe what they liked best about the scene. It's a bit of a quirk I have but I like to go back and watch that now knowing that the woman is enjoying herself. Kink.com, maybe more than most porn, is in the business of selling fantasy. Yes, one could criticize me as having the fantasy to r@pe women, but that isn't the case. I first got hooked on BDSM several years ago through another Kink site and even though it pushed my limits I found it compelling to watch because the women were pretty adamant that they enjoyed what happened. And while I have nothing to base this on, I think it's a safe assumption that if Kink ever ignored a model's use of the safe word then that would spread and Kink would be done. Besides, Kink comes out of the lively and established San Francisco BDSM culture. I suspect that they'd be run out of town if they were abusing women.
And although I mentioned this before, I really do think that the fact that Kink attracts so many A-list models has to say something about Kink and about how they operate. I know the porn business isn't like it was even ten years ago, but an A-list model must still have many more options other than doing BDSM work if she didn't want to do it. I'm sure some A-list models were talked into anal using money. Like Lexi Belle and the upcoming Maddy O'Reilly anal scene (and both Lexi and Maddy, industry stars, have worked for Kink), but I highly doubt that a model could be talked into a shoot for this site with just money. There would have to be some interest, and a lot of trust in the staff and male talent. I simply can't accept that model like Chastity Lynn, for example, would agree to work for Kink even at double the going rate if she was truly afraid or unwilling to do it. She could shoot two 'heartcore' scenes in a day and make the same money.
Anyway, thanks for your comments. I knew this would be a controversial review of a site that even many PU members wouldn't like but since the purpose of this site is sharing information and I've taken a lot of benefit from that information over the past years, I'm compelled to give back.

This is actually surprisingly common with discounts, they almost never update long term memberships accordingly (also be careful as some places renew the discount month at a higher price, higher even than regular monthly).

I think you'll find that the reasons scores vary is that TBP Reviews are based on a more standard set of criteria whereas PU users score based on what they feel is important ... which varies from user to user.

TBP earns money when members (and others) join thru their links. I have more faith in TBP reviews (which give a large number of factual details in their reviews) than in the reviews at most porn review sites. But the best source of information is the PU reviews, which are written by people who are, like us, actually paying for the porn they see.
PU reviews often have less factual details than TBP reviews, but the opinions of the site value are easier for me to understand and evaluate than the scores at TBP. I certainly don't agree 100% with all PU reviews, but the reviews can be useful in judging whether a site might be worth my money to join.

Thanks Squirrel, one of the other sites included in the network that came with Zoliboy besides this one is Fassinating, which is another hardcore mostly Euros only site, and it has several other HC sites that I think are mostly made up of DVD content available on most DVD sites. Fassinating was rated an 83 by TBP, so it too is a good solid HC site.

I knew, going in, that I was probably pissing my money away because there are no reviews on PU, TBP or any of the other porn site review sites on the web. That's a good indicator that the site is probably pure garbage.
But because my libido seems to be more powerful than my common sense, I went ahead and signed up. My consolation, as I suggested in my review, is that I may have steered others away from this waste of time site.

I agree 100% with what you wrote. Like you, I'm an active and paying porn buyer and it really bugs me when I get fleeced. Guys like us should be seen as valuable customers and not mere marks in a scam. Dammit, I WANT to give these companies my money so they can continue to make more porn.

Another annoying feature of the videos that I left out (because of space limitations on the review) was the poor sound track on many of the videos.
They need a new music editor for the videos. The music track on most videos detracts from the video; and the music track volume needs to be set much lower.
Unless you mute the sound completely, it is difficult to turn the stupid music soundtrack down enough on the playback software to a soft level that is not disturbing. Have to go into your PC
"control panel/sounds and audio devices" software to adjust the sound volume. Then, if you play a DVD movie afterwards, you then have to readjust the sound level for the DVD movie.

Well, squirrel - that navigation is certainly a matter of opinion, grant you that. But as Karup's PC was one of my earlier sites ever to join and been coming back now and then for some time, I maybe learned to like/relate to that navigation - still think it's rather simple - but ok, it's probably mostly a matter of "being used to"...
BTW: I do not find that KPC has more close-ups than others - maybe the opposite, even.
But anyway thanks for the thumbs-up...and appreciate the ping-pong about reviews. We need that here.....

Nice, comprehensive review, squirrel. Just the way I like 'em. I have not ever subscribed to a Karups site, something always stopped me .. I always thought the sameness (and lack of lingerie :-) ) had a great deal to do with it until I saw some sample bonus sets of theirs in AO30 and now I know what my biggest problem with Karups is: their photographers do not believe in landscape type shots, there is the odd one but it's usually just a close up of a trunk and not a full body shot.
As to my ideal site, I'm afraid I'm still looking. I haven't subscribed to a new site in over a month because I'm tired of poor substitutes (for my taste!).

If you like the fairly straight-ahead, lightly treated pics at Karups, you might find yourself VERY frustrated by the overly-treated, "let's just pour lacquer over them" pics at Earl Miller. I sure was!
I didn't see one face that wasn't blurred and I didn't find one trace of skin tone in any pics on his site. He shoots a lot of gorgeous women, but the excessive treatment on the pics totally ruined them for me.

That's a very important, very key question you raise about the quality of hardcore photography vs. softcore. (Hey, the spell checker only recognizes hardcore! Hmmm!)
I wonder if it's different photographers doing these different things sometimes. I'm more often than not disappointed in the video cam work in hardcore, so maybe the pics suffer in the same way. ("I don't do softcore. That's the softcore guy's job.")
Now if you get someone like Earl Miller, who does both sc and hc, then the results are much better. (But the videos are full of camera flashes and people holding poses, with Earl clicking "pause" on the actual activity.)
I do keep returning to Karups every now and then after a buildup period. The girls are the reason, of course. (The blowup dolls are at sites like Naughty America; they look virtually inflated!) But in my own very humble opinion, the photographers for Karupspc are generally driven, straight into the bowels of the earth, by an unappealing formula that glorifies pussy and puts ass in the back seat.
If only they'd do more shoots as do Torrid Art, or MetArt, or Walter Bosque Art! Those folks UNDERSTAND.

Anyway, yours really captures the "Karupspc experience." It is hard to navigate, and that's at least partly because there's so much material!
Actually, if they broke things down by the month, it would be conceptually easier. And the thumbs in the indexes should be larger. They ought to do it more the way Nubiles does it. Hell, they've got pretty much the same monotonous, pussy-obsessed approach to the photo shoots.

On the lack of diversity - they have said before that Karups PC is a collection of European models, where Karups HA is a collection of models from the US, so you wouldn't really expect a great deal of diversity from a site that had the parameters that this one does.
I think, though, that the bigger problem with the Karups sites is the same-ness of the style from model to model from set to set.
ATK does much better in this regard, in my opinion. Their different content providers have notice-ably different styles from each other, so you can do searches by a particular photographer/studio if you want more of that particular style.
All that being said, there's a lot to like at both Karups PC and Karups HA.

If you have not tried any of them, I'd say Karups PC as the first choise - (others may think different) - But the PC-site has a bit more euro-girls and a better variation in videos in this users opinion.
Anyway there's pix and videos for days and days of browsing at both sites
