I was thinking of rejoining VB myself but your review convinced me not to. I mean, ONLY 30,000 anal scenes??? That's it?? :-)
Seriously though, I have been thinking of rejoining as well. It's been a long time and, like you, even though I'm more picky these days than I used to be I'm sure I could find hundreds of scenes that interested me.
I'm also glad to hear that the are still pro-rating the additional channels. That can make them excellent values if bought later in your membership.

I was a member for a very long time (started when they still added one new DVD per day) but dropped VB when I got tired of their lousy labeling. They have two major failings not mentioned in the review First is mis-identification of the talent. Some babes show up with obvious name errors. Seco0d is scenes where the models are not identified t all. The only good thing is when members see errors and include the info in the comments. But that doesn't help at all with the search function.
Dillion Harper, for example, has several scenes where she's mis-identified or not identified at all.

I recently bought a subscription to Videobox and was handed an unpleasant surprise. Within 24 hours of joining I was billed over $200 for webcams by VideoBoxCAMS, which I never viewed. My card was processed by Meta-billing.
Needless to say I will never join another site that uses Meta, even though I got my money back.

Good point about the price for joining the sites directly that VB offers as add-ons - all of them can be joined directly for less than the add-on monthly prices if you look around for promo prices at all.
There was a time a few years ago when VB was posting a lot of premier studios to the main site - Anabolic, Diabolic, Red Light District, New Sensations, Zero Tolerance, Jules Jordan, etc, as well as a nice amount of premier classic porn from VCA
These days they post a healthy amount of Jules Jordan & New Sensations, but other than that, there really isn't a lot of material posted from premier porn studios.
For people who haven't previously been members, though, there's an awesome amount of content here. - the scenes and then the clips, which are also fun to look around at.

I read your review carefully hoping for something that might induce me to join VB again but you weren't able to provide that. I haven't been a VB member in a few years and it sounds like nothing has changed. The duplicate scenes probably shouldn't bug us so much, but like you, that really got under my skin.
VB remains an excellent option for someone just getting into porn collecting and moving away from the pirating sites, but for collectors like most of us here, it makes little sense. I see VB as a being like a buffet when you're a foodie and want gourmet.
Great review as usual!

Thanks for the info exotics! I had been wondering about that channel, for some reason I can never seem to figure out how much of stuff is where on the new VB tour. I didn't realize they pro-rated the channels either, that is really good to know.

I think too many scenes at once and server is cutting or there may be a restrcition on server that only 2 - 3 files can be downloaded simoutaneously

VB2 is still available in the top right corner, just click "Back to old site" or go directly to vb2.videobox.com and login as normal.

This is really weird, exotics. I had Videobox until roughly a week ago, always signed on through VB3 with the option to go to the old site clearly marked on top of the page even though I faithfully clear my cookies every time I close Firefox. On top of that I also use CCLeaner every night so I can't understand that the option isn't there for you as well.

I agree that VB3 has serious issues that's why I went to the old site quite frequently but as of yesterday the option to go there was still there for me??? BTW, I too canceled my account today but for different reasons.

Thanks for this info, exotics. If I understand you correctly Videosz now has a lot of public and voyeur scenes. If that was a primary focus would you recommend Videosz or Tainster? I'm not really familiar with Tainster. I think I'll have to sign up soon and have a look.

I've been a member of Videoz too and quite like them. They're in my rotation list but just not with the same frequency as VB. They're definitely a great site too. There was another DVD site that I quite liked, though the name escapes me now. It was better than both VB and Videoz but the owner shut it down a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the feedback. No doubt I will spring for Vivid and would never have guessed about the pro-rating. And, yeah, I meant an entire film. The pieces are ridiculously fast to download and an entire DVD can't take long at all. Ah, well, it's great to see Ginger's furry little muffin once again.

Yep, I also forgot to mention that their streaming is not as smooth as it used to be. Quite a bit of buffering most of the time, especially when I download one file and watch another.

Videobox has, unfortunately, gone the 21st Sextury route - you need to do a research paper to figure out the best deal to join and how to get what you want for the right place, especially when Kink.com has been doing very aggressive promotions of their sites, as has Evil Angel and Reality Kings. Vivid, well, are they even really still alive?

Not sure about the old site but if i remember correctly once i joined the new vb3 site after i paid the 12$ there was an additional option after to add the different sites (vivid and evil angels) for 15$ a piece. So I think your best option is to join through the old site if you can get the extras for 10$.
Or an additional option is to join the new vb3 site for 12$ wait about a week and they will prorate the price of evil angel/vivid if you join one of them in the middle of the subscription.
i joined Videobox on the 28th of December, it is now 12 days later and i checked that if I joined either evil angel or vivid (not planning to join either) it will be 9.50$ a piece now.

I'm not sure what to do about the RK channel, but I think I'll sign up in my last week just to take a look. I figure that will be fairly risk-free. I'd like to join RK again but I'm a little gun-shy with the reports of the download limit. I did confirm in their terms of use that they do impose a daily limit of 10GB, but it sounds like it can be arbitrary. I once had a membership to a site with a limit and it wouldn't unlock the whole day's quota at once but would do so as your quota freed up. What that really meant for me was that I could only go to the site every two days. It sounds like RK may be using that kind of system. But with the pro-rated membership on the VB channel I can limit my risk. If I really like what I see then I may take the RK plunge anyway. Maybe the limit is somehow linked to HD material only as you suggest.
The Kink channel is a definite for me. I regularly get memberships at several Kink sites but one that has intrigued me that I've never taken the plunge on is Ultimate Surrender. I'm figuring that with the pro-rated prices I can go in late in my membership and download the dozen or so Ultimate Surrender scenes on the channel. That will limit my risk if I don't really like them.
One complaint about both Reality Kings and Kink (but not with Evil Angel or Vivid which were added before VB3 was rolled out) is that the scenes aren't associated with any of the Kink or RK sites. Some may ask why that's a big deal, but if you're looking for some particular themed material it is harder to find than it needs to be. Ultimate Surrender has a distinct look with the set they use, but most Kink scenes are dark to set an atmosphere. But is that dark thumbnail a scene from The Training of O or from Sex and Submission? You'll have some work to do to find out. It's essentially the same for RK - you can't easily tell which site from the RK network the scene is from. Most might not care, but some of us do. Also with the new channels (Kink and RK) there is no way to add scenes to your favorites once you do decide that you want to see it. You either remember the details or you download/stream it right away.
Evil Angel and Vivid were added before VB3 went live and they have a much more user-friendly model.
If there is anything worth noting when I add both Kink and RK I'll leave a comment here on the specific issue, good or bad.

I eventually took the additional channels too and agree that they are definitely worth the additional cost. They don't update as often so they may not be something to keep a membership with, but they are definitely a good value.

Super Glam was run by someone else originally, then about two years ago the site & content was sold to Silver Sinema. Teen Models was always funded through Silver Sinema.

Curious on the super glam comment, there was a full dvd release through Silver Sinema called "Super Glam", well they had two dvds, volume one were scenes from superglam.com while volume two were scenes from teenmodels.com (both websites owned by silver sinema). Is that all, or are there more super glam videos found on videobox?

Thanks for this info. I've never joined the add-on sites because they just seemed too expensive in the past. I recently re-joined VB and declined the add-ons because I just assumed they were still separate and still expensive. But thanks to this info I suspect that I'll add them on soon.
