When I looked into it, it struck me as a sprawling site lacking focus and direction.
I did not join.
From your review you say things have deteriorated since that time.

Heather, thanks for this review - SG is a site I've toyed with joining, being vaguely into this sort of thing (the second SG book is sitting on my shelf of racy material) - so it's good to know that it's possibly not worth it.
Have you joined God Girls, which is similar? I'm also tempted by Zivity, which is a similar community-type site, but seemingly a broader range of erotic photos rather than specifically alt girls.

Yes, but I found a solution to that - just edit the scene into a production you like and publish it for your own edification and enjoyment. I do it on a regular basis.
Which brings up an old memory. When I was around 13 or 14 I would take the bus from the suburbs to the Greyhound Bus Station and pick up porno type books. When I got them home I would end up cutting out just the good sections and pasting them onto a sheet of paper so I didn't have to waste time and energy thumbing though all that text. Funny how things don't seem to change.

Heather, I wasn't speaking of pure erotica - like Anaïs Nin - rather where people writing a novel put in sexual scenes in a book. Does nothing for me except skip to the end of the chapter (cause it's usually used as a bridge to the next chapter).

idk Heather, I started with reading (and quickly followed by Playboy). Now I'm jaded and want to cut to the chase hence porn. I read some outrageous porn books in the service while in Germany, but some of those were so over the top with BDSM & murder that it was embarrassing.
I can see where women would find this niche agreeable and why books like 50 Shades of Gray so popular.
I do enjoy listening to books these days, the unabridged type - but most erotica I get impatient with.

Heather my apologies, my short statement was a bit of hyperbole on my part. Yet it can't be denied that ugly old men and rock stars seem to attract a bevy of beautiful women and when rich men 60-70 old get re-married in a May-December marriage it is always to women who would be unattainable to the average male.
There is another factor as well, as stated by someone else, and this was also my experience as a young man: young women, for some reason, seem to be highly attracted to men that have an aura of "danger" about them. I've consoled enough of them, by lending them a shoulder to cry on, to know this to be the truth. I remember writing to my mother at the time: "You taught me wrong. You always said to behave like a gentleman with women but women are not looking for gentlemen, they are looking for the "dangerous" types. :-)
Of course, there are exceptions, especially as women mature .. thank heavens, or I wouldn't have a wife! :-)

You say the site is not worth the cost - less so if you have the misfortune to come from Europe because of the exchange rates they use.
The current exchange rate they use for buying tokens using UK pounds sterling is around £1 = $1.10 where the commercial rate is currently around $1.55. From the Eurozone it's as bad - they get charged on a €1 = $1 rate where the current commercial rate is around $1.35 = €1.
So - a complete rip off unless you can make your transactions in the good old US$ which most of us nowadays cannot.
I used to use the site a bit but haven't been back since they changed their rates and I won't be back again. I also know others from around the world who say the same.
