It seems more and more common that support staff at many businesses are worse than useless.
I bought an item through Amazon. The item was not sold from Amazon, but from one of its commercial partners.
The partner overcharged me about $7 on the item.
I complained to the partner's support staff, in an email.
The first email response I got from the partner support staff said the $7 overcharge was justified, according to their records.
I sent a second email, stating again that I was overcharged $7, and I should get a refund.
The second email from the support staff stated I was not overcharged $7.
I sent a second email, stating that I had been overcharged $7.
The third email from support staff asked me for proof that I had been overcharged.
I sent a new email, with photo copies of the original coupon I used, the original price I should have paid, and a photostat of the charge from my credit card company.
That was proof that I was being overcharged $7.
The next email from support staff said they were sorry I was having a problem, and to please explain what my problem was.
The funny things are: with every email I sent to support staff, I included, in the heading, the ticket code for my complaint.
And I explained, in each email I sent, a summary of my complaint about the overcharge.
As well as sending with each email, the add-on of all previous emails I had sent.
And from the second email on, the support staff member who sent the replying emails was from the same support staff member
Finally, I sent an email to Amazon, with the confirming photos showing I had been overcharged (copy of coupon I used, copy of bill from the partner that shows the overcharge, and copy of my credit card statement that showed the overcharge).
And Amazon gave me a credit for the overcharge.

I'm not computer knowledgeable, but 2+ GB for 720p video seems way too large.
The coding formats/algorithms used can make a big difference in the file size.
I'm guessing that those files could be shrunk a lot by better choice of file format/codec/whatever.
Even though hard drive prices keep dropping, 2+ GB files will use up a lot of hard drive storage. And even more so for SSD storage.

Once I actually called them, cancelling took no more than 2-3 minutes (I just gave some info, they quickly offered me a discounted rate which I turned down, and it was done), but the fact that I couldn't complete it with their web form or online chat was slightly troubling. And this wasn't just a one-time thing, either, as I tried both the form and the chat on two separate days and it didn't work either time.

I used the same strategy you did on VB and added the Kink channel in the last week of a membership back about 5 months ago. That opened my mind back up on Ultimate Surrender since I hadn't seen any of their live sites until joining the Kink channel on VB. Even after a few months have passed now, I still find the scenes with the models I like, very good. But there are really only two models that I really liked, Dragon Lily and Isis Love. I'm not even for sure I like either of them for their skill in grappling, but instead, Dragon for being a very curvy Asian model which is rare in my experience and Isis for being so pretty, yet so dominant.
The navigation problems became more evident on Divine Bitches since there was no way to tell which scenes were just straight domination or ones that involved bisexual men. And with Ultimate Surrender, a simple "Live" tag system would make a huge difference. I just gave up on the photo sets which ended up disappointing me even more since I would have liked to get the Dragon Lily and Isis pictures. On the other hand, I still feel like Kink has improved a great deal over their earlier days when they had download limits that made most download limits today look huge. Hard to believe they used to limit members to 10 GB per month. And I'm thinking that's why they originally split the photo sets like they do. Since the limit was so low, I guess people complained they didn't want the full sets since it would be a bigger file.

I rarely have joined the teen solo sites. There were way too many of them that used the ol' "Sign up to see her naked!" lines in the fully dressed previews. Then when I got inside, they were naked, but had soap suds on their boobs, legs squeezed together. Kitana Jade/Cherie Roberts comes to mind. Not to mention, the months I kept waiting for Next Door Nikki to get naked. It's funny how the times have changed in porn in just a decade or so. I remember when the future stars of Euro porn did hardcore for their first 4-5 sets, then went to 5-6 years or more of nothing, but solo or lesbian.
From what I remember about Melissa's site it was pretty good. So it should be a safe join.

You know rearadmiral, I'll never understand sites like these. They snatch these new models up, put them on solo sites, seem to keep them on only the solo site and outside of chance and luck, very few of us will even know they exist. It reminds me of Raven Riley who I think could have been the biggest internet porn star of her era if someone would have thought to put her on maybe Twistys or any of the other big multi-model sites.
And I don't know what's happening to my mind when I notice nice, muscular thighs over every other part of the female anatomy. I do still have this site on my very short list of to join sites and thanks for the heads up on the join options. I will take advantage of joining through Melissa Pass.

Videobox does have a classics section, but it is mostly 1990s stuff.
I think a lot of sites stay away from them because the video quality is so bad they think people won't want them. Some of the more popular stars like Marilyn Chambers or Traci Lords might see their stuff remastered, but I doubt much effort will be spent on old porn.

This is a shame to here. I love classic porn and in particular a certain period in which VCA was very active. It seems like these films are almost public domain and wouldn't cost much for sites to stock, but I have yet to find a truly good classic porn site that didn't have a lot of the problems you mentioned here. I'm from the old school where no one had any clue what HD meant so I don't care that the resolution is subpar when compared to almost anything done today. As long as I can see the performers and the action than that is more than acceptable. I found some movies that I thought I never would on the classic porn and it makes staying a member well worth it for me.

These days I get more pleasure out of the movies the classic porn site uploads than anything else other sites have to offer and we are talking about some mediocre looking movies. it's just that they are the movies I've been looking for and I can live with a good movie that looks bad. I can no longer stand bad movies that look good.

I agree with everything you said but let's be honest. It's old farts like us that still pay for porn so sites might as well cater to our needs because the young ones are getting their porn on tube sites so trying to attract them as new customers or retain them is a waste of time.

I can only get to Video Box by typing the website into the browser search. When I click on a link from Best Porn I get a 301 Moved Permanently. Not a huge deal considering the discount is $3 but it is odd. Thanks to your comment I think I'll go back for a month and see what gives. Maybe they've improved the Roku interface. Beware of cross-checks unless you want a subscription to Mr Skin

Yeah I looked into the price for individual scenes and its basically priced at such high prices I doubt anyone would ever bother buying. some scenes are 24 kinks (tokens)
20 Kinks for $19.99
42 Kinks for $39.99 - SAVE 5%
75 Kinks for $69.99 - SAVE 7%
178 Kinks for $159.99 - SAVE 10%
So for $39.99 you still wouldn't be able to watch two 24 kink scenes. Some are cheaper, I don't really get how they are priced as they are all just random numbers, I'd say average is around 16 kinks a movie.
I'll give the videobox a miss then mate also as 540x480 is too low for me. Oh well I'll hold out for the day they decide on a network access lol.

Thanks for the reply, sounds good to get more kink stuff without joining all. That's my biggest annoyance about that network is I only like a certain type of model, not into heavily tatooed women and like various models on the network but when I look at joining the site I'll only see a handful of movies I'd like so I never join. Wish they had some sort of deal if not all access all sites which I doubt they'll ever do. But a deal to get say 40 movies for $19.99. Then I could pick the ones I liked.
So how much is the full Kink Channel and VB do you know.
Is the video quality acceptable like in 720p or lower?

Yes it does appear the UPdates do have older and new, even though they say HD I found some where not even 720P.
I decided not to include daily HD as in my opinion it was not always true HD, but maybe enhanced or refurbished LOL

I think that when they decide to license, they probably don't get to choose whether or not they get HD, whomever they're licensing it from does. For example, it looks like they've just started uploading scenes from Teen Fidelity/Porn Fidelity, but all those scenes are in standard definition, even though at least some of them are available in high definition on that site.

I think a membership would be slightly better for you, rearadmiral, since you prefer younger models, but if you look at the comments accompanying "mature" updates then you'll know that I regret taking out a long term membership because VB will make sure they don't upload too much of anything that will cause a storm of protest. When first I subscribed I still downloaded the lesser quality DVDs but now I can't stand them. HD has spoiled me, so no more long term subscriptions to sites like VB and Videosz unless they turn all HD and that is not very likely!

I agree that they'd probably be better off if they focused on 1-3 movies per day and just made them of "better quality" (i.e. HD, more well known actors/studios). That would probably buy them some more time before the content dried up entirely. About the only way I can see them being able to get back ahead of the curve now is if they were to attempt to buy content from websites that have stopped updating relatively recently. It would give them a ton of (probably) lightly seen content at a cheap price.

Because most of the companies that still exist and are shooting their content in HD already have their own websites and aren't going to sell/license that content to Videobox. So they're probably just going to shell out more money to different companies to get their not-new HD content. And as you noted, even the premium channels aren't doing it, since they still want to give you a reason to join their site instead of going through Videobox. This is just the danger of being a site that doesn't produce its own content. They're at the mercy of the market, and the market isn't going to be kind to them.

Good observations re. quality, rearadmiral. I have been downloading HD videos ONLY for quite a few months now because the so-called DVD quality scenes (640x480) just won't cut it on a widescreen modern monitor. Most of them come across as too soft and blurry.
BTW, I think that should be 5 updates a day making the inferior quality contents 80%. :-) And I am having a TERRIBLE time with VB because HD MILF and Mature videos (my preferences) are few and far between and when they do appear as an occasional update they are chock-full of enhanced breasts! Aargh!
