I am huge fan of Alsscan too but I am afraid you are probably right on some of these points.
1. It does seem slightly less extreme lately, but it's hard to tell if it really turns out to be softer content in the long run. Franziska is a good example; yes, she is really hot, and Alex says she is really popular but I have just not been interested, regardless of the braces or tan lines or whatever people thought was interesting. No fisting, not even a speculum scene (at least that I am aware of) -- pointless indeed.
I think it may be an excess of the fluff content rather than a lack of hardcore content that’s the problem. By this I mean all the cars, candy, and glamour shots they have started adding. If I wanted to see cars I would look on a car site, and the lollipops seem to be what everyone else is doing as well so it gets boring fast. The softer or glamour shots can be a little much sometimes and I think this was mentioned in relation to ALS Angels and in response they were adding some more establishing shots before a model goes straight for the toy or insertion. This is fine but it quickly adds a lot of boring repetitive stuff, especially now that they release a whole scene at once, including all bloopers and outtakes.
2. I disagree here, to me they release new models (or rerelease archived material) frequently enough, especially considering how big a release usually is, but...
3. ...I do wish they would release the majority of a model's shoot within 6 to 9 months. I hate it when there are random releases from a model they shot more than a year ago, then only to say "well, she wasn't very popular so we didn't release any of her stuff." I understand it can be hard to agree on whom, or what scene, is really the most popular -- even with a voting system -- but it is frustrating to see something on a promo page but nowhere else simply because a model is "unpopular."
This is still a great site and I think it can remain that way with a few tweaks to the formula.

Another thing thing they do is sit on their butts with the Sunday "casting" updates. It's happened again and again, and it happened this morning, too. (They "post" new updates 4 a.m. my time.)
But, as usual, they hadn't put up the thumbs and the zips don't work, either! (Error msg) I checked at 5:30 a.m. They cheerfully suggest that I check back later. Hmmph.
"Yo, if you're going to post something as updated, make sure it is!"

No taste is alike, but it's important to clearly state that ALS have pretty extreme content. Porn users that like extreme content like fisting and fruit in pussies, clearly love ALS: they should sign up, stay members and be happy. But people that do not like more extreme stuff should be informed before wasting their money.
I personally do enjoy some other niche type of content that I am sure 90% of all pornusers would dislike, so I am not generalizing the public to have the same likes and dislikes as myself: ALS is a niche site that successfully cater for a 10% niche market.

Yeah, their update schedule used to be pretty bad late last year, but now the active sites are updated weekly, more-or-less. I've a membership to Xcoreclub as well (review to come)--better action, prettier or as pretty girls, better photography, fewer pictures and I think the updates are actually fewer (6/month instead of roughly 20/month). If Teen Core Club can keep up the last few months' update frequency it's going to be a great subscription.
I really wish TeensNaturalWay would update--it's a nice concept

I recently finished a membership at Handsonhardcore and noticed that there was a lot of "remastering" going on there as well. I think it's due in part to the fact that most porn surfers haven't been around all that long and will think it's new and in part saving production money while keeping the updates flowing.

The owner has a blog and solicits model and scene requests from members on a regular basis. New models are added approximately every 2 weeks but this is because we simply do not just shoot any model
that is willing to spread her legs. We travel the world looking for
only the highest quality models. In addition to all of our NEW daily
updates, we also release remastered sets and videos of our older
material. We are bringing our entire photo and video archive up to
the quality standards that are expected today (and you hold that
against us?).
3) As for your comment about sets being released randomly, we
have just added a members realtime voting system for each new
models scene. This will determine the exact release order of
each models scene and allow all members to participate online.

all of the emails we have been receiving lately tell us how much we have improved during the past year (New updates 7 days a week, complete photosets, HD Videos, Public Beach Sex, Members voting systems, Directors Blog, and so much more). So please let me address your comments individually.
1. We get about an equal amount of emails that say our content is
too extreme and ones that say we are not extreme enough. Given
that, we feel we are right where we should be. Are we getting any
less extreme than we were 10 years ago? No Way. Some of our
best fisting photos and videos ever shot have been within the past 2
years. If a new model cannot handle fisting because her pussy is
too tight, or does not enjoy it, then we do not make her do it. I

This hasn't been lost on me, either. If you look carefully at the little kind of white oval shaped thing on the thumb, it does say "Reloaded" but it isn't nearly as noticeable as the former "Once upon a time, on (insert date here) ..." they were putting on them.
Thing is, there are members from way back in 2002. We've seen every single update since then. And some of us are members of PU. And we know which porn stars are current and which aren't, so put it all together and those who get "reloaded" aren't usually hard to spot.
I look forward to seeing Sandra (blue couch) again tomorrow morning. That one's not even labelled "reloaded" but I think it is. Why? I have photos of the same scene, and when I moused over one, it said it was taken in 2002. Also, the older photos were taken before she got that (completely unneeded) boob job.
I enjoy and appreciate the reloaded stuff because it looks better than the original (usually) and the pic sizes are sometimes MUCH bigger than they were before.
But what I don't like is this shift to labelling content as if it's "new" when it's not. Once someone starts trying to pull it over on you, you never know what they'll do next.
And I wonder what's happened to DDF. We haven't heard from Bela in a while (the webmaster). I get a feeling that something's changed. Are they still hiring new girls? I've been wondering about that, too.

Your review was helpful, and having gone there, I broadly support your views! I think they've reduced the logo size and done something about the attractiveness of new models - I didn't find logos obtrusive with newer shoots.
Bit dull though. Same dildos most of the time, long scenes that could do with editing, some models going through the motions. Could do more with the faceless external person dildoing them!

Interesting post and here is a question for all those who are confused about any sites rotation policy.
1. Do you want 2 sites with 410 videos and no rotation. As we now have over 1000 we would have a 3rd site at a lower price with the remaining content. How we split the content would be decided later.
2. A site with all the content for twice the price?
3. A site twice the size for the same price?
4. Or a site with 410 videos and rotating so over the month you see 530 and in your second month you see the other 530. All for $29.95?
We would make more money with option 1, but I felt it was not fair. Option 2 is a non starter because few would pay $59.90 for a month. Option 3 is great for the surfer, and I would like to get twice as much for my money as well. Not going to make anymore money and could lose us money with todays connections and downloaders.
Option 4 we feel is the fairest. By no means the best value for money site on the net, just the best we can do for the money. The members pay and we need to keep the site open.
530 for $29.95 = 5.6 cents a scene. OK so you only like half 11 cents a scene. Kill me for it. LOL

I honestly do not know. I did not take long enough to download site to get to know their update schedule. based on the ratio of picture sets to videos I would say it would be maybe once in two weeks or more. You could always email the webmaster.

I have the same experience, but with my "B" list sites. It also really sucks when you stay away for several months and find that most of the new content isn't to your liking, or that the site has unexpected problems (less frequent updates, broken links, etc.) in spite of your checking at PU and TBP for more recent comments and reviews before returning to it.
With my really favorite sites, I tend to get longer-term memberships just to keep things flowing. I figure for a site I can pretty much depend on, spending under $15 a month for a year is worth it. But that's also risky because sometimes the site will change in unwelcome ways, to my tastes anyway.
