Another great review, tangub - of a site which has been on my possible list for a while. I'd kind of dismissed it as a bit too met-art-y, and perhaps the models a bit too young (I usually prefer girls at least in their mid-20s); but am still a bit tempted by your mention of public pics and racier videos than MA. Download restrictions are a bit of a PITA; I doubt I'd hit them, except for the lack of manager support; I tend to use DTA to queue downloads for overnight.
Wow, now that's what I call a review! Very comprehensive - there's no question I can think of you haven't answered in full - but you manage to capture the spirit and "feel" of the site too which is most important. Well done!
On a seperate note, I am impressed with the way they responded to your complaint but still not very impressed with their download limits or the fact they didn't make it clearer in the first place. Still, they did rectify it and that kind of good service to customers is so rare on porn sites. Most of them seem to forget you are a paying customer!
They seem determined to stay at a price that deters many users. I will add that I do not think the site is worth 35 bucks. Also, I think they do and or did have a 1 GB per day limit on downloads. If anybody does join, I would like their take. I'm thinking I may have overrated the site by a point or two in my review, but I am still chomping at the bit to download some models sets I have seen since my last visit.
Firstly, if you have never joined Met-Art, I would still go for them first, especially with the price offered here. For me, MPL just hit the spot and the quality was unexpected so to speak.
I did have some troubles with downloads and in fact it seemed as if you could get away with two at a time but not more which is a pain in the rear.
I did get multiple downloads to go through but noticed they were slow. As for being blocked, that never happened. And for rating the site higher than Met Art? I just think their videos put them over the top and they have a handful of my absolute favortite models.
Lastly, there videos are not superb, just better than Mets. And that pricing? It has hindered me from re-joining but as I said, I would like to again. I would scan their models and the amount of sets they have and if they feel your needs, take the plunge.
I can say that I have NEVER seen this site run a special anywhere.
I can't tell you how often the site is currently updating.
My membership ended last week. I had problems trying to enter the site. I kept getting the error message that I was not authorized, even though my membership was still current.
I sent emails, asking for help.
No replies.
I also sent emails asking for my membership to be extended, because the site advertised, for a while, that 1-year memberships (and I paid for a 1-year membership) would be extended due to the site not updating in 2008 and most of 2009.
No replies to my emails.
So I just gave up in frustration.
The site has a number of very attractive models.
But the photosets are very small: about 15-20 photos per set. So even though the model might be attractive, the small number of photos per set is just enough to make you hungry for more. Or frustrated. I want a larger number of photos in a set, where I can look at the photos, and focus on the ones I like best. I can get large photosets at most mega-sites, where you get 50-100+ pictures in a set.
The site says they are emphasizing quality over quantity, but the quality is not any better than at the mega-sites like met-art (where Richard Murrian, the site photographer for m-u-s-e.org, has some photosets), or mplstudios, or a bunch of other mega-sites. Actually, the quality at the other sites is better, in my opinion, because the photographer tends to put a lot of shadows and "artsy" focus in his small photosets, making the number of photos that I really like even smaller.
You are not substituting quantity for quality if you join one of the quality mega-sites. You get both quality and quantity.
This site has a much smaller content. The archives go back several years, but I just don't like the idea and practice of a small number of photos in a photoset.
I believe you will be better satisfied, spending your money on a softcore mega-site, than at this site.
But if you are a Richard Murrian connoisseur, then the site might be worthwhile. I thought one Murrian photoset at met-art was really striking. But when I looked at the same set at m-u-s-e, I found a small set, with a smaller number of photos. Grrrr.
This was one of my favorite sites awhile back, but they keep changing access to bonus sites, then offer no bonus sites, then offer several, but they don't work. Still, the older content is really good for those who collect exclusive content of Euro models.
I'm rather surprised by the download limit though. It seems a bit low. Like they're not doing it to protect the site anymore but to preserve their bandwidth.
This is a full-fledged glamour site.
So they offer all the trimmings.
A zip file for the photo sets in low, medium and high definition.
A recent set:
low is 1.8 Megapixels
medium 10 Megapixels
high 36 Megapixels
They also offer the streaming for videos in
360p, 720p, 1080p.
The videos have a choice for download of:
360p, 540p, HD (which I assume is 720p), full HD (which I assume is 1080p).
Sorry, I am not going to download each file definition, because I'm not feeling well, and don't have the energy to verify the file sizes on my PC, at the moment.
But Tony Murano was a MetArt contributor for many years at MetArt, and if you have a MetArt membership, you can find many examples of his work (mainly photo sets).
Thanks for the comments, tangub & Drooler. I still prefer PP, but it's more a personal choice, I think - if you liked it, there is a lot of material here from some of the prettiest girls there - notably for me, Eva, Hatsumo, Amandine, Laetitia. It's a little expensive, but worth a one-month join.
We actually have two tours for the site... one that ends in CCBill only and one that ends in Netbilling with a CCBill option. The difference is the CCBill only is for our affiliates... if you are sent to our site from one of our affiliates, it ends in CCBill only. If you come to our site by typing the URL directly, or click to our site directly from Google, et al, then you'll end up at our Netbilling / CCBill join page.
Either way, whether it's a type in or through an affiliate, you have the option of joining with CCBill.
There are few limits when it comes to ways people can grab more of your money.
When I bought my first computer, many years ago, I bought it from a mail-order company. The company was out of state, which means it was located in a different state from the one I lived in. I live in the United States. At that time, and it's still the case, out of state sellers did not charge state sales tax (no sales tax from the state of the seller, and no sales tax from the state of the buyer).
But I was charged my state sales tax on the purchase of the PC, by the seller.
In theory, the seller was supposed to turn the "state sales tax" money over to the state I lived in.
On a practical basis, there was no way to check to see if the seller did turn the money over to my state, or just kept the money.
And legally, I believe the seller could keep the "sales tax money", and claim that it was holding the money to turn over to my state. If the matter had ever gone to a court of law.
But my guess is that the "VAT tax" would be kept by the seller, with the intention of turning it over the the British government. This would happen when the seller dies, and goes to heaven, and does pay the British government it's fair share of all revenues.
I complained when Watch4Beauty went to a mobile-oriented format. I found it annoying to have to scroll down endlessly when pagination works better. The site webmaster told me it was to make the site more mobile friendly, as more of their business was mobile. Yet they have 8K pixel photos and 4k videos. They need to get their heads straight.
Thanks tangub - despite its flaws, this is still a great site and well worth $15 - there's something a bit off-centre about the content which I really like. Definitely recommended if you want something a bit different... and if Juliland scares you off a bit :)
