It looks like another of Misha's sites - she does MishaOnline.com - they have much more frequent updates of a variety of hot models, including Valentina -- probably a much better deal unless you're only interested in Valentina.

Can't say that I'm surprised about the lack of communication. The last few times I've glanced at VideoBox, it seemed to be just a dumping ground for the most bargain basement porn possible, not a site that was putting into any effort into anything. Too bad as there was a time when they had a blog on the site where they told customers what studios they were making deals with, asked for input on what customers wanted to see, etc.

Like many sites, there was a whole different level of engagement with fans on VB in 2010. They had a blog updated multiple times a week where they would discuss which studios they were making new licensing deals, they would solicit feedback from members, they would promote "coming soon" DVDs, etc. Now they have very little to brag about so no blog, no talk of new deals, no coming soon, just plop, here are today's updates.

Good point about the price for joining the sites directly that VB offers as add-ons - all of them can be joined directly for less than the add-on monthly prices if you look around for promo prices at all.
There was a time a few years ago when VB was posting a lot of premier studios to the main site - Anabolic, Diabolic, Red Light District, New Sensations, Zero Tolerance, Jules Jordan, etc, as well as a nice amount of premier classic porn from VCA
These days they post a healthy amount of Jules Jordan & New Sensations, but other than that, there really isn't a lot of material posted from premier porn studios.
For people who haven't previously been members, though, there's an awesome amount of content here. - the scenes and then the clips, which are also fun to look around at.

It's a pain in the butt. If I google "Videobox Updates", I get a link where I can see the most recent updates on their Evil Angel channel, and then I can play around and see all updates for various pornstars or search by directors, etc, and I'm sure that if I kept on playing around I could eventually see their updates for all channels - but why they don't just make that info obvious and clear is a mystery to me.

This seems to be an increasing trend among site whether, like TeenDreams, they are a shadow of the site they used to be, or Videobox, they are a site that is still going strong and has nothing to be ashamed of in letting people see their newest updates.
They ought to go back to letting people see their updates, no doubt about it.

FYI - the best deal in Asian porn these days is AsiaMoviePass. You can get a trial membership through PU for a few dollars - it's a full membership. You can download entire DVD's - and they update with approximately 20 full DVDs PER DAY. If you like what you're seeing enough to want an entire month's membership, you can cancel your trial before it kicks into full price, and you will then be offered to extend your membership at $9.95/month - great deal!
There's not a lot of uncensored stuff at AsiaMoviePass, but there is some.

Are you using VB3 - the new version or the "old site" as they call it? There's a pornstar list on the old site, but my comment was specifically referring to VB3, which is what they encourage everyone to use and which does not have a pornstar list.

Videobox has, unfortunately, gone the 21st Sextury route - you need to do a research paper to figure out the best deal to join and how to get what you want for the right place, especially when Kink.com has been doing very aggressive promotions of their sites, as has Evil Angel and Reality Kings. Vivid, well, are they even really still alive?

Best of all, the drought seems to have ended. From December into January, the updates at Videobox were the worst I've seen since I've been a member - just dismal. They've really picked up lately, for my tastes.

Yeah - unfortunately, the slump in quality really hit after my present membership renewed. If it had been 2-3 weeks earlier, I wouldn't have renewed until the quality of updates improved substantially - and I agree about the Premium sites being part of the slump.

With the new interface, VB has made the same error that Naughty America made. Naughty America put all that energy into yapping about the members being Naughty Americans and electing a President of Naughty America - paying him a bunch of money, putting him up in a nice condo, etc - going on about the Naughty America community, blah, blah blah - and who could give a flying fuck?
VB's former interface was service-able - could have stood some improvements that were meaningful to members that just cared about the product. Instead, they went for some "community" idea, where the whole thing is members having profiles they spend a bunch of time on and which members are going to be their friends, blah blah blah - and who could give a flying fuck?
Meanwhile - the presentation of the material that we're paying for sucks! Click on any DVD cover and it looks like shit. The previews look like shit. Click on your channels and the information is wrong. So it's just garbage.

The questions are:
1) Is Vivid any value to you at all?
2) What's the quality that you're looking for?
3) What Evil Angel directors are you most interested in?
If you're looking for the highest quality, then the quality of Evil Angel vids at Videobox is higher than the quality of the vids at EvilAngel.com.
Another option is the network centered around Buttman.com, which has very high quality vids available - they claim HD - and a significant amount of web-only material. They also have fucking hideous navigation, so finding the web-only material is a chore and a half.
If you're looking for Rocco's stuff - and Rocco's new work is excellent - you are only going to find that at EvilAngel.com.

Megan Mallone's Vivid scenes directed by B Skow are some of the best POV stuff I've seen anywhere - surprisingly good.
Lots of great stuff on the Evil Angel Premium Channel including awesome Jay Sinn material.

I just think it was good Customer Service. I don't know what they would have pangs of conscience about. The original deal was one that I agreed to, have never had reasons to regret. The fact that they changed their pricing model is not anything unique to this site - lots of others have done similarly.
The new deal makes me happy, so there we go.

There is an ebb and flow to the quality of updates to Videobox.
There were years when I was looking at high ratings for this site and checking the updates and thinking - Meh - I can easily skip this!
At a certain point, there was a lot of archived material that was of interest to me plus a lot of recent updates that were of interest to me and I joined. At a point when I felt that they were providing enough of interest to make worth my while, I joined long-term.
They're in rather a fallow period for updates these days, for my tastes, so I'll be keeping my eye out for when my subscription runs out and seeing whether I want to re-up or let them buid up an archive that I'm interest in again.

OK - so you can upgrade a few ways - when you join, you can choose premium channels - and they'll make very clear what the costs are. If you're looking at a scene in a Premium channel and click "Download", there will be a pop-up that will explain exactly what the costs are and you have the option to close the pop-up or to click through to the upgrade with the costs as specified, or you can click on "Upgrade Now" banner in a premium channel and you will get a pop-up describing what the costs are - and again you can choose to click through to upgrade or close that pop-up.
In every scenario, I believe that they're doing a good job of spelling out the costs with little risk of charges that catch a member by surprise.
