You're probably right. I hope they paid Lexi a small fortune for the movie, and particularly the anal scene. I also hope that Elegant Angel makes a ton of money off of this too. Studios making money from making good porn is good for the talent, good for the studios and good for those of us who actively buy porn.
One thing I don't get is how online sales and DVD sales are related. I agree that they may want to drive DVD sales for a while, but that presumes that there is more money to be made there. But is there? I don't know what the markup is on a DVD, but a VOD must be mostly profit since the cost of making the movie is amortized across all sales so a VOD's cost to the company is bandwidth on their own site or licencing fees to Adult VOD sites. I'm guessing that I'm not the only person who doesn't but DVDs and is sitting here with my credit card ready to give someone money who will let me see the movie as a VOD or download.

I don't really know Wicked all that well and I didn't know that most of their titles are on the site. Had I known that I would have definitely included that as a 'pro' since it really shows the studio's committment to the internet.
I was also pleased to see the full-movie option available. I prefer scenes, but I did download a few full movies of some older titles with stars that I like.
On an unrelated note, I'm disappointed to see that Elegant Angel hasn't made "Lexi" available to VOD sites yet. I was looking forward to seeing Lexi Belle's first anal scene this weekend. It looks like I'll have to wait a while longer.

Great review pat. I found your take on this site interesting because while our tastes in porn are quite similar there are a few differences that can be seen by comparing our views on the site. If anything, I'm now thinking that maybe I scored them a few points too low.
Condoms aren't a deal-breaker for me, but my preference is to not see them, but I do respect Wicked for the position they've taken and obviously enforce.
The biggest difference I found between Wicked and many other porn sites is that Wicked really makes 'traditional' story-based porn. That's rare these days. I wonder how important that is to a lot of viewers. For some, it might mean that Wicked stuff can be viewed as couples porn, but for me, I have to confess that I just skip ahead to the sex.

It bugs me that so many studio sites don't seem interested in the internet as a means of getting product to the customer. I've had memberships to many studios and I can't think of any of them that I'd say really understood the internet. There are many that don't get it, and I don't mean to pick on them, but Hustler is a good example of that disinterest. It's almost like these studios just don't understand the internet.
This site is probably not the best place to gauge how porn is accessed because we're all active buyers of web porn, but surely DVD sales are in decline as web sales increase. I can't be wrong in that. There's a neighbouring city where I go for work a lot and I used to buy and rent porn there too. One of the three adult video shops there closed down and recently another dropped DVDs and now only sells toys and clothes. That has to mean that DVD sales are in decline, so why are studios fighting it?
It's like how the music industry fought online music. They got focused on the belief that everyone wanted to steal music. They missed the fact that most of us just wanted to get the music over the internet and were more than willing to pay a fair price to do so. I suspect it's the same with porn. There will always be piracy, and that is bad, but there will always be people like the members here who are willing to pay for the effort that people put into a product.

I'm a fan of studio sites and I somehow missed this one, so thanks for reviewing it. It sounds like Wicked is like so many of the other studio sites though - they have the material and the resources but they still do a mediocre job of giving web access.
Are there any or many of their older titles available?

Thanks for this information. I checked out Wicked when they were listed in the "What's Hot" list at TBP because they're a studio I like. I was really disappointed to see how poor the preview is. While seeing a model list is important, for me a DVD studio that doesn't list what DVDs are available on their site is a deal breaker. The decision to have such limited information available is baffling for a studio that should realize the value in a good preview. Maybe this is another example of a traditional studio completely missing the importance of the internet market.

That could be it for the models, but I wonder why they won't let a prospective customer at least see the DVDs they have to offer. That makes no sense from a marketing perspective.

My hope is that since this is a 'reputable' studio then the site might be okay. How's that for rationalization??? I usually find studio sites disappointing, with rare exceptions like Evil Angel and Elegant Angel.

Thanks for pointing this out. Learning about these 'hidden gems' is one of the big advantages to Pornusers. Wicked is defintitely on my list of sites to join, and is probably number one or two on that list.

I'm indifferent to interracial simply because I see the male talent as part of the furniture so I would neither seek out nor avoid interracial stuff merely because it happens to be interracial. But DFN, mostly on the strength of Blacks on Blondes (and several other sites too, as you mention) is a pretty good network. I'm amazed at what some petite models can take.
As for Meatholes, please disregard my comment about possible credit card issues. There's no mention of it here on the site's page so it has to be another site. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks pat. I alos liked Blacks on Blondes. That's probably the best site on the network. They've remastered a lot of the older scenes with some of the models I really like and they have a fair bit of anal too.
I was thinking of a Meatholes membership since it's been years since I had one but I recall a PU member saying he had serious credit card issues with them. That's what I recall reading but that may be incorrect.

I don't know of any other sites that do this, but Jim Powers has some of it in his movies but that's hit-and-miss and a lot of his titles aren't available on the internet except through the JM Productions site which is pretty crappy. Max Hardcore did a bit of it too. I've asked resident porn expert pat362 for some advice. He may know of other sites.

Now that you mention it I do recall reading that the site will re-issue videos and give them new dates so that might be happening here. I did think it odd that some of the models who's scenes are dated from 2010 were some who really hadn't been in the business for a while.
This site alone definitely isn't worth the price but the entire network is pretty good.
And pat, with your encyclopedic knowledge of porn, are you aware of any other sites with this theme?

I agree that scene length is probably the main factor in them not offering 1920x1080. The file sizes would be huge. As it is, they're large, but some could be near 10GB if they went full 1080p. That would be a huge storage issue for them, and a lot of bandwidth to keep just a few customers happy.

I'm with pat on this. Pierre has used condoms for years. But he doesn't hide that fact. In many, maybe even most, of his scenes he puts the condom on as the camera is rolling. Many of the other men he brings in for his scenes don't use condoms though.

It's entirely possible that I just remember getting a discount offer to WUNF but didn't really. That's possible because I like both sites a lot so when I join one I join the other and price isn't really the determining factor. Both sites offer some amazing porn (as you describe) and I'm always willing to pay for that.

Thanks for posting such a thorough review. This is a favourite site of mine too and I've joined it several times since I wrote my review. Like you, I wish there was a discount for joining WCX and WUNF together but I find that once you join WCX the discounted offer for WUNF is enough to entice me to join that site too. I can't recall what the discounted price is. I always join both sites and I get access to Woodman Films so I don't know if that's because I've joined both sites or if it's linked with WUNF.
Obviously you'll need to make your own choice here, but WUNF is my favourite of the two. I like WCX but I like WUNF even more. But that's purely subjective.

I’m not very technically-minded so I was worried that I might have misread my specs. But I checked and I do see download speeds of 25MB/s using Internet Download Manger. Could IDM make a difference?
I wish I could tell you how much I’m paying for this but I can’t with any certainty because my wife pays that bill and our internet service is bundled with two separate landlines, one cellphone with long distance and data, and TV. One advantage that we may have is that we have fiberop right to the house. I realize that many ISPs get fiberop into neighbourhoods, but I have a fiberop line right into a box in my house. I think if the internet was bought as a stand-alone service it’d pretty pricey. Looking at their pricing guide I think I’d pay between $80 and $100 per month. It’s lower than that for me because of the bundle.
Having said all that, I may have to update my answer because for some reason my internet connection is really slow right now. I did a speed test that showed it much slower than I’m used to. Then I went to an active membership I have at Swallow Salon where I see fast downloads and tried downloading last week’s update again. The file size is 1.08GB and I know when I downloaded it last week it took about a minute. Tonight I’m seeing 1MB/s and the download would have taken more than eight minutes if I let it continue. But I know that it was only a minute or so last week.
I suspect that the rates are likely higher here in Canada. They certainly are for cellphones.
I hope some of this helps.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the lower price is for Woodman Casting X and if you pay the higher price you get Wake Up 'n Fuck too. WUNF is worth the membership fee. It isn't considered a stand-alone site here so there is no way to add a review, but it is a great site. Let me know if you want more information on WUNF.
