I remember when Jesse Capelli used to do weekly cam shows at Misha's cam network when her site was new and active. I could tell it was going way downhill in the last days of her public forum, which I checked now and then. The poor members were complaining about the lack of updates, Jesse's posts in response were bitchy as hell - all "What do you expect? I'm busy!"

Given 21st Sextury's comments about their DOS attacks coming from their main competitor, I wonder if there is a little porn war going on between 21st Sextury and DDF. What was the reason for this site except for DDF to prove that a bunch of the 21st Sextury material was produced by DDF?
That's OK if DDF was going to keep this site as a real updated site. Now - not having updated the site for almost 7 months, it just makes DDF look lame. They ought to shut it down or give it as a bonus to people that join the premium DDF sites.

This is the link to her site. I tried it a few years ago when it first opened. Your first comment is quite accurate - it was a horrible experience. She wasn't using CCBill at the time and she had some weird "key" system to get access. I wound up having to look all through the site for contacts and eventually found a contact with the web design guy, whose only connection was having done design of the site, but he was cool enough to get me into the site. Stephanie's excuse to all the people that were furious in her then-public forum was that she was running the site all by herself and was getting ripped off right and left and was doing the best she could.
Most of that is probably true, but my answer is "If you can't do it, don't try to do it and rip your fans off." I also got her a contact with Adriana Sage, a fellow San Diego-based porn babe that runs her own site and, at the time at least, Jana Cova's site, in a very professional manner and could have done the same for Stephanie. I don't believe that has ever happened, so if Stephanie's site is being run in an unprofessional way after numerous fans have tried to give her ways that she could solve the problems, well then there are no more excuses.
I was a big fan of Stephanie. Now, not so much. Besides her site being handled in an unprofessional manner, so are her live performances recently. I went to see her twice when she was either incredibly late on stage (keeping the DJ playing the introductory music for 20 minutes) or didn't show for that performance at all.
I wouldn't bother going to see her or joining her site at all these days.

Pricing for this site is all over the map. Joining directly is $29.95/month and you get a few crappy sites - then some good ones if you stay longer. Joining through that Porn For All network - whatever it was called is almost $40 a month for some group of sites - then you get more later. Joining Mandy Is Kinky, gives you this site and a huge number of other 21st Sextury archive sites at a price of $29.95/month - then you get still more each more that you remain a member.

It does point out the quality of the site's navigation, doesn't it? I remember at one point looking for some photo sets that I KNEW were on the site featuring Stephanie Swift. I looked in one way that made complete sense, found nothing. I thought of a few ways that their wacky navigation might hook me up with what I was looking for, found the stuff in a very few minutes, but you do have think like a person that is only somewhat organized in order to find what you want, frequently.

I have tried this site repeatedly because of the TBP discount. I like it more than Twisty's for a few reasons
While they have their own photoshop addiction, they don't mangle the models as Twisty's has at times, such as with their Andi Valentino photo sets
I like the fun campiness of their satirical vids
I like the low-key personality-filled event vids.
The downside - for a site that has so much video, they don't have a lot of vids that are high on sexual heat.
Twisty's vids are better strip vids, in my opinion
Brazzers does much hotter campy vids, in my opinion

How many porn movies have there been with real plots and anything substantial in them? Kris Kramsky did a couple of things that mixed hot sex scenes in with other stuff that was much better than your average porn movie, but other than that...
The Vivid & Wicked stuff that purports to have real plots is boring crap, in my opinion. Vignettes can often be fun - just set up a situation that leads fairly quickly to sex after some tease elements and I'm happy.
ALS Scan has done a number of scenes that I have really liked where the models just talked to the camera before doing a great masturbation scene. That worked well with girls, like Courtney Simpson, that had the confidence and wit to pull that off.

Actually, pat362, female ejaculation started being shown in US porn in the 80's with movies like The Graffenberg spot. But it's gotten much more over the top, like everything else in porn does.
I've seen squirting vids that are fake as 4 dollar bills with CG squirting - and then I've seen scenes like Amber Rayne at ALS Scan where she literally covered the camera man, much to his shock and delight, and that's as real as it gets.

I was thinking that the poll was referring to sites that present themselves as review sites, but now that I understand what was meant, my answer is even more definitely "yes", because not only are some porn portals full of redirects and bad sites, but many are also filled with viruses of all kinds.

Since I can find similar info at a number of review sites, the number of review sites that I spend any time on are the ones - well, actually one - this one and The Best Porn - that I feel really make an attempt to give accurate info. There is good discount site info at Rabbits Reviews, I think it is.
Other "review" sites tend to just be advertising vehicles hoping that you'll join the sites through their link so they pick up an affiliate fee. I'm sure that TBP also makes money that way, but it certainly doesn't stop TBP from striving to do honest reviews.
Raven Riley's reviews page is a perfect example of one that I believe exists solely as an affiliate page, and I would have more respect for that whole thing if it presented itself that way.

If you were deciding between this site and Met Art, I'm afraid that you definitely chose wrong. Met Art just has a LOT more variety, given the number of content producers that work with them. There's great stuff every day there. Hegre has Hegre and he's got his tastes and his way of doing things.
In terms of vids, though, I MUCH prefer Hegre's vids to the Met Art vids. Met Art vids, with very few exceptions that I've seen, couldn't be more boring if that were the whole intent of them - horrible, horrible, boring crap videos, no matter how great looking the women are that are in them or how "high-quality" they are - uchhhh!
Hegre, to me, often has a quirky sense of humor at work in his vids, and I frequently enjoy them. Met Art is, in general, though, a much better, more enjoyable site.

There definitely seems to be a back-and-forth conversation between Japanese and US-porn. My fave US-porn guys, like Jules Jordan, have definitely shown signs for years of being influenced by Japanese porn, and watching some of the more hard-edged rough and kinky stuff being produced by DAS and Attackers, it seems that they are repaying the favor by picking up on some of Jules' ideas - since in both cases, they're picking up tips from the best rather than the most mediocre people working, it's a really good thing, in my view.

I raise the "unattractive guys" thing as a con mainly as a response to the sentiments that I've seen expressed in this forum.
For my tastes, being an ordinary-looking guy, there's actually a cool element for me in all these ordinary looking guys having naughty fun with these hot girls in Japanese porn.
The bigger turn-off for me is seeing the Wicked and Vivid-style stuff where they're just looking for the guy to be a hard dick to use with the girl and there's no groping, stroking, squeezing of the luscious bods of the girls or any sign of attraction by the guys. Mosaic issue - any site presenting authentic Japanese erotica is going to have the mosaic issue on most of the top-line Japanese AV being presented - that's a fact of life, and a frustrating one for those of used to Western-style porn
Price - the lowest price available is $59.95 for 2 months. That's quite high as compared to other porn sites. I did as much price-comparing as I could with other similar sites and decided to join this one because of the mix of pics and vids, but the price is high.
Unattractive guys - I don't care personally, to tell the truth, but it seems like there are members of this forum that are turned off if there are unattractive guys in guy/girl scenes. There are lots of them in Japanese video, where if you can get it up on camera, and are willing to be on camera, you can be a male performer.
Download limit - 8 gb/day - not a problem for me, to be honest, but it's there

I joined this site because I was frustrated at the various Asian porn sites that were only presenting shellaced/photo-shopped photo sets and short vids. I wanted to see good high-quality photos of hot Asian honeys where I could see what they actually looked like instead of how much time the site's photo-shop crew could spend covering them up.
I wanted to see the hottest Japanese AV babes being put through their paces. This site fit the bill and delivers quite well. I love how cute the girls are and I love all the well-filmed kinky stuff they do - the cosplay, schoolgirl themes and gang-bang fantasies are all really hot to me.
I haven't seen other sites presenting this high-quality combo of new photo-sets and new vids that are download-able in this quality.
That also means BIG files - so don't join without a huge hard-drive or DVD burner. You'll just frustrate yourself. The site indicates that you can stream vids and perhaps there are some where that's true - I haven't found them.
I would have rated this site higher if
a) The navigation were better, so I could more easily find the material I'm most interested in
b) The mosaic issue weren't as frustrating as it is to someone raised on Western porn - they do strive to present thin-mosaic and uncensored material when they can get it.
c) I could find more nude and upskirt photo-sets. Most of their photo-sets have clothing, from what I've seen. |
