A really good, thorough review of a very good site. The one issue I had with the site - not their fault, really - is that porn babes' level of involvement in their site can go from thoroughly engaged to no activity in the blink of an eye. So if you see that such-and-such porn babe has been doing weekly cam shows, it can be frustrating to join and have her not do another. But that's the reality of porn. The people who run the site deal with it by continuing to get additional porn babes to have their sites as part of the network and to encourage them to do cam shows. That's all they can reasonably be expected to do.

Lots of good bonus content on the Kink network, though when I was a member most recently it was all stream-only. There was another site that was related to Wasteland at one time, I believe, called Funny BDSM. I would love to see that material appear again. They had a lot of bizarre scenarios that were hot mainly due to the really sexy Euro-babes that they used in their vids, such as Sharka Blue.

For me, the main appeal of the site is that the sheer amount of content means that you can always find hot stuff if you're willing to click around - so long as all their buttons are working, which is not always the case. It's certainly an odd duck of a site - far too formulaic for it's own good so that your joy at discovering 20 galleries of a model that you got turned onto at another site decreases when you realize that most of the photosets have distressingly little variety between them other than the clothes to start.
You can picture the photographers looking at the list of requirements they were sent by ATK and going:
20 clothed pics - check
20 semi-clothed pics - check
20 pussy-spread pics - check
20 asshole pics - check
etc
I wish there were more of a sense of inspiration in the material on this site along with the sheer quantiy of material.

Good review - their oh-so-specific niche does get boring to me, but there's no denying the quality of their work - and the choices of pricing are a good thing in their clarity of what you're getting for what price and letting people choose from there. One of my favorite videos on the whole site was one where they just got Cindy Starfall talking. She's got such an interesting story and has such a great personality that it was really enjoyable, even if not the most sexual video on the site. I'd love it if they did more of that kind of thing.

I don't get this at all. I'm a huge fan of ALS Scan - have been for years - and - like you - the speculum, gynecological stuff is not appealing to me much at all, nor is the pissing stuff that Alex, the guy who runs the sites, is so excited by.
It's one of my favorite sites because of the models and his photography makes them look hotter than they do anywhere else. I've been a member only a few times of ALS Angels because there have only been a few models on this site that make me feel like I needed to join. Again, though, the photography of those models is absolutely outstanding - the best on the internet. Check out the Andie Valentino & August Ames material - so freaking hot!
I fail to see how anybody is being forced to look at photos that you don't want to look at. That's the great things with photos. You spend times with the photos that you want to spend time with. You never have to spend any time AT ALL with photos that don't interest you. It's pretty much the same with videos, for me. There's the pause button. There's the stop button. There's the button to close the video window when you want to stop watching.
The problem I have with lots of people with particular fetishes is that the material is subsumed by those fetishes. On the ALS sites, I don't find that to be at all the case. There's plenty to enjoy even if you are completely indifferent to the fetish elements that the guy who runs the sites finds to be the most exciting elements.

I just tested this with 2 Asa Akira scenes in that time frame - "Dickorette" dated 10/10/2011 & "Boning My Boss" dated 8/02/2012. No problem viewing or downloading either video.
Test the ones that I mentioned & let me know if you have videos that you want me to check out to see if I'm getting the same issues that you are.

Yeah, it's funny - as big a fan of the site as I am, I'm utterly uninterested in a lot of their "special" elements like the vag spreader, the hoop thing, etc. Perhaps Alex gets a lot of emails from fans craving that stuff, or perhaps they are his own fetish. I dunno. I just like the incredibly cute girls they book and how great they make them look.

This site is among my very favorite sites. Their tastes in models, petite, small breasted, shaved is very appealing to me and I've had very few periods in the last several years that I was NOT a member of this site.
There's not much random about which models appear on ALS Scan and which models appear on ALS Angels. It's not a matter of the models being better looking. For my tastes, most of the better looking models are on ALS Scan, which is why I've been a fairly consistent member her and only an occasional member of ALS Angels.
If a model has bigger breasts, is curvier, or taller, or more mature looking, she'll be on ALS Angels. There have been a few models where you could flip a coin as to which site they should post to, Sandy Waldron or Jessyka Swan, for instance, but for the most part, it's pretty clear which site a model will wind up.
In terms of the remastered sets, for me, they're an extra rather than taking anything away or making me feel deceived. There's so much new content being posted and such deep archives that I never feel that an update is being wasted by being used for a remastered set.
In terms of the lack of polishing of photos, this isn't a warts-and-all site, as ATK's sets often are. Alex has sometimes posted before-and-after pics and it's pretty clear that there is significant prettifying done to the photos posted here - not Twisty's level, thank heaven, but enough to show off the models to their best, which I appreciate.
Anyway, just some comments by someone that is a big fan of this site. Good review, overall.

You can pretty much think of any top pornstar of the past 10 years or so and find some excellent scenes - and more important, you can find top pornstars of today doing great work here.
