I remember getting the email from the guy and having to read it multiple times to make sure I wasn't confused. The worst thing is that I really liked the site (aside from the streaming-only) and gave it a high score based on content but I said in the review that potential members needed to be aware that it is streaming only. As I recall now, his beef wasn't that I told people it was streaming but that I said he was unclear whether it was streaming. He pointed to his Terms of Service which were VERY vague as proof that he made it clear to people that the site was streaming only. I don't think the TOS was clear at all, and even so, how many people read the TOS before joining a site?
But I am still convinced that regardless of what he said his issue was, that he was really mad that I probably killed 90% of his potential business from PU members by pointing out that there were no downloads. (The site was new and hadn't been reviewed by the TBP folks yet.)

What an excellent review! Seriously. Detailed and thorough with every word contributing to the overall point.
This is a site I've thought about joining and I still might even though it has a lot wrong with it. I think just having a reputable biller is enough to cure a lot of problems because I know my risk is just the cost of the membership.

Good point on a possible source of material for them.
I discovered something that I thought was odd about the site. I'm going through there and replacing some of my favourite scenes that I had downloaded as lower-res wmvs with the best resolution H.264 on offer and I noticed that Burning Angel studio gave VB almost everything in HD whereas other studios have nothing in HD. I assumed that VB licenced the material and decided how to upload it, but it may be that they're licence is a lot more restrictive.

It sounds like you and I are on the same path - now that we've taken the plunge into HD there is no going back.
I agree that if your tastes are for mature women this isn't the site for you as a frequent rejoin or as a long-term member: the updates you're interested in just aren't that frequent and they are rarely in HD. You're right though that my tastes make this a better deal. But the reality of porn is that my tastes are just better served by the market anyway. I do have a few niches that aren't well served so I can empathize with you in your search for good quality porn with mature models even if I don't share that specific interest.

It matters a lot to me - when it occurs. What I mean is that a webmaster doesn't need to respond to me personally, but when a webmaster replies here (or webmaster attitudes are reported here) that does impact on my decision to join a site. If a webmaster seems helpful, friendly and genuinely interested in providing a good site for members that is definitely going to make a positive impression. On the other hand, when a jackass threatens to sue me for revealing that his site is streaming-only, that likely means I'll never give him another dime.

Interesting review, pat. I'm definitely not in her target market, not being interested in MILFs. But even if I was, the need to download in segments would keep me away. I really don't understand how a webmaster could get a site so wrong.

I agree - VB is trapped in a cycle that they probably don't want to break out of, namely the need for five updates per day. With a $12 per month membership that limits them. But I'm assuming that at any given time VB must have thousands of members so it must still be lucrative for them - and I don't begrudge them for that. They provide a decent product for a low price.
But... I'm sure I'm not alone is saying that I'd stand by them if they went to one or two good quality updates per day. I think they could get away with that due to the huge size they've already built up.
I do think you've probably hit on a big part of the problem in that major studios might be reluctant to licence titles to them as that might divert traffic away from the studio's own site.

Thanks for the comments - and for correcting my error. They do upload 5 videos per day. I agree that if you have a specific niche you like you're better off going to sites that cater to that niche rather than relying on VB. The lack of anything above 640x480 on 80% of the uploads is a real drawback.

Interesting membership option. I'm not sure I'd consider it given the volatility of the business though. But who knows? If Evil Angel or Kink made such an offer I might take the plunge.

I agree 100% that interviews at the end are better, but the reason I prefer them there is I like to hear the model's perspective on the actual scene rather than hear about her theoretical likes and dislikes beforehand.
I'm okay with how they do the bondage and torment, but like you, I do wish they'd build in more humiliation and public scenes.

Good catch, exotics. She is definitely hot. This site's page at TBP says that it bills through CCBill, but clicking through to Melissa Pass (which gives access to Val's site too) says there is no independent merchant. I might consider joining, but I'd definitely prefer to see a reputable biller used. (Plus, my preference would be for the lovely Val to have A-cups, but a guy can't have everything...)
[Edit - I was browsing around on Val's site and it appears that if you join there (through CCBill) you still get access to all the sites on Melissa Pass - and it looks like the price is lower for a three month membership through Val's site.]

I recall reading a recent post at Adult DVD Talk from the producer of the stretch class series. I don't remember a lot of details, but I do recall that he seemed to think that he had just invented something cool and game-changing like a jet pack or something. It seems that this may be the 'new' Buttman for a while.
Don't get me wrong though, while I do wish that Stagliano would do more than this series I am quite content to watch a lovely young lady stick things in her bum for hours on end. The only thing that could make the concept better is if it started out as a women's beach volleyball game that turned into wall-to-wall bum insertions.

I definitely agree with your bottom line. I'm pretty open about my porn habits and people sometimes ask me for recommendations. VB is always my first recommendation. I can't see why anyone would risk viruses and promote piracy by using a tube site when VB exists and costs so little for the overall value.

Thanks for the comment Denner. I've been watching a lot of the stuff lately and probably will for a while because it is exactly what I like - I like the look of the models (young and petite) and I like that there is a lot of anal and I like the harder edge that many scenes have. I'll admit that it might take a while for me to watch all of what I downloaded, but it is a welcome addition to my collection. It makes me wonder why I took so long to join!
